I just wanted to thank the guy from the Meat Department, I believe his name is Ron. He demonstrated such excellent customer service! I was looking for a last minute pork and he went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. I am also pregnant so he offered to carry the heavy pork to the register. I am very happy with my experience here!

It's convenient and never too crowded. I'd rather get produce somewhere else because it's FAR from fresh there. I mean.. on the cusp of molding for most things. Check expiration dates and make sure your cheese isn't moldy.

Usually pretty good..good prices, friendly staff and good selection. But, the last few months (live 100 miles away so see family in area then shop by the month) I have bought apples that seem ok then brown in the middle. Blew it off before but happened again last Friday. Tried to call store phone literally busy all day couldn't get through. Need to check how long produce sits in shelf/bin. Wish I could talk with someone! :)

I enjoy shopping at the commissary because it is not usually crowded. The meat prices are the cheapest in town by far. The entire store tends to be the cheapest in town. Unfortunately, expiration dates are not checked. Most shelf items are either expired or will expire in a few days. I have accidently bought several items that had expired months past. As long as you are checking the dates, it is worth going there. The store is always very clean and everyone is always very friendly.

The produce is usually excellent and they get some nice cuts of meat on a regular basis as well. It's never very crowded and checkout is fast.

While small, the prices are terrific. It’s clean and inexpensive. They have the best prices on meat in town. Highly recommend to those active, retired and civilians that are able to to go.

Today I went and had to go thru checkout because I had to many items to go thru self check! I told the ladies I didn’t want help out because I didn’t have the cash to tip, they pretended like they couldn’t understand me and did it anyways. My daughter an I even loaded the car for her! She then proceeded to huff an puff and yell at me telling me “next time you need to bring a tip!” She made my daughter feel uncomfortable! And made me feel very upset and disrespected! My husband just left and you made our already bad day much worse!! They should not allow these people to work there! I get they work for tips but if you have a bad attitude and are rude you shouldn’t be allowed to work! Let alone on a base where people are going thru a lot when husband and wives leave! It’s disgusting how you let these people treat us.

Nice store, but always check the date on your items. I have gotten home and so many times things have been expired. Deli meats, frozen items, yogurts, pepperonis… a whole variety of stuff. Check the dates!

I keep noticing price inconsistencies, which is extremely frustrating while shopping on a budget. The meats are always priced well. This is the largest reason we shop here. Also, I'm not impressed at all with their produce selection either. There aren't as many options as say a Wal-Mart, and sometimes my produce will last forever or for only a few days it seems. It's clean though and the staff is nice. Just keep an eye on your sales receipt.

Dyess Commissary has working scooters and wide uncluttered aisles. Shelves are usually well stocked. No exception this day.Priced are competitive if not lower than other places. I love the well stocked, meat market. They have a wide variety of types of meat. Lots of well arranged frozen and cold products. Clean and friendly. It makes shopping a joy. No tax on products. They accept coupons.

Small but clean, produce good choices, meat are OK, never enough check out lanes open no matter how many in store shopping only three at most open plus self check out really not worth the drive if that is all your coming to the base for.

Nice and clean but limited on produce. Nice finds on overseas items items. As far as price, much like a Kroger. Somewhat small. Also, meat selection acceptable quality.

This is a smaller grocery store; thus, they have a limited variety of brands for each type of food, but I have found the quality to be excellent and selection to be robust for the common, and many uncommon, foods.

Nice commissary for its size. I'd avoid paydays as they tend to be very busy. With the exception of certain individuals that think it's ok to block an entire aisle because they just can't decide what to get, it a great place to shop.

Probably the best price for steaks you'll get in Abilene. It does have limited selection when compared against the larger grocers. The baggers work for tips.

I use to love the commissary but lately a lot of their products are expired. I told one of the workers and even helped him take them off the shelf and weeks after, the expired items were back on the shelf.

It was acceptable. Clean, organized, and employees very helpful. Not a sting on Dysess Commisionary, but we miss our 5 Alive frozen citrus juice. DECA decided to stop carrying it. We had been purchasing 5 Alive since 1985 when I married my bride. The Commisionary was the only place to purchase it until 2017.

Very small compared to other commissary ive been to. They always run of poultry, but they do have a great price on meat.
