Highly recommend-Stopped by when traveling through from Mason to Harper. Staff was very attentive and explained their daily specials. Looks very small from the outside but has a small general store and groceries along with a large restaurant. Had the bacon wrapped shrimp with jalapeno and cheese as an appetizer, followed by the Chicken alfredo, Pork Chops with mushrooms, with garlic mashed potatoes and sauteed vegetable medley, and a Brisket Loaded potato. Desserts consisted of a bread pudding, peach cobbler and a cheesecake. Cheesecake won the dessert round. The peach cobbler came in second. All were very good. Everything tasted incredible. Love the vibe of this place. Will definitely be returning to try other items on the menu.

The food is amazing! The Poutine is the best 🤤 the perfect thing to pair with football and beer. The wings are perfectly fried and the flavors are unmatched. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The burgers, the sandwiches, the Korean BBQ plate is so good! Everything on the menu is perfect executed. And the Sunday brunch is a great way to end the weekend! I can’t recommend this place enough. And to top it all off you get the most scenic drive. If you go for dinner you can catch the perfect view of the sunset right in front of the store!

Yesterday a group of cyclists and volunteers headed from Llano to Kerrville and Mother Nature had other plans, completely un announced we showed up and the staff welcomed us and immediately started a pot of coffee and cooked on the spot 30 burgers. Love this cafe! We were a party of six and every thing we ordered was awesome. The steak bits were will seasoned and cooked to perfection. The barbecue brisket and the pulled pork was awesome!!!! The barbecue sauce is made in house and is the best we have tasted. The chef (Johnny) also makes a cheese cake with a caramelize bourbon sauce that is to die for. Very friendly and relaxed cafe.

Super quaint little place with a delightful waiter and great food.Try the root beer! It's incredible!The whole restaurant area is painted with western scenery, horses, cowboys and cowgirls, right on the walls. Very cute to look at!

Really good food and nice people. They have live music that isn't too loud to enjoy dinner.The BBQ was excellent. The Chicken Fried Steak was HUGE with a real piece of steak, and it isn't greasy. We saw one of the steaks and they looked good.

I am so happy to have this Restaurant, Store and Feed Store as an option. Everything on the Restaurant menu I have tried is simply delicious! The staff is friendly and the place is very clean. You want regret stopping and spending your money here. If your from out of town you will absolutely love the scenic country drive to this destination.

My husband and I stopped in during our first visit to Doss today for lunch. The staff was warm and friendly. Our waitress was apparently a new addition to the cafe and was very personable and a joy to interact with. When we walked in the door and smelled that rich BBQ smoke smell, we knew the food was gonna be amazing—and it absolutely didn’t disappoint. If you ever find yourself in Doss or anywhere close by, go here. :)

Wow! We were caught in a rain storm while cycling. This cafe was amazing. They fed 28 hypothermic riders w no notice, the food was quality, in spite of the volume. Coffee pots were immediately running. What was remarkable was the genuine care that went into our service. I will definitely return and can’t recommend this cafe enough.

I stopped here for lunch while working in the area. I was delighted by everything. The service was very welcoming, all of the staff clearly takes a lot of pride in giving their patrons a great experience. I loved the atmosphere of this place and the food is delicious and very well prepared. I look forward to stopping here again next time I'm in the area!

This place is excellent and the staff is amazing! We were riding in the area and the rain started pouring down. We stopped here to get out of the rain. They opened early and let us in. They then made 30 meals with a small staff not expecting a rush of people like that. We couldn't be more grateful for their hospitality and cooking!

Stopped for lunch today after seeing an ad. Nice drive to get there. Not only was the food great so was the service. Lisa is a gem! They were VERY accommodating with my husband's special diet. Took our desert home to have with coffee and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The most amazing food! Family had the brisket burgers and the chicken breast burgers. It was so delicious, cooked well and large proportions. The fries are so good too. The atmosphere is great, lots of room to spread out and just an awesome place to eat. Please come out and support this great place! So happy they are open!

Excellent volunteer service from Lynn and others. Excellent food with good variety. We had six people and everyone was happy with their food. Most of us had either brisket or ribs and enjoyed them both with leftovers for tomorrow! You can bring your own wine and they provide glasses. Very welcoming and superb hospitality!

Our group of 5 adults, staying the weekend nearby at the Hidden Rock Ranch, ventured out to enjoy one of the local restaurants. All I can say, we all were not disappointed. We decided upon getting steaks and they were so flavorful, tender and cooked to perfection. We even shared the homemade bread pudding and Peach cobbler afterwards, and again we were very pleased. We had the privilege to meet Debra, the Owner and with her wait staff, we all felt like family. I can highly recommend visiting this local restaurant as you enjoy the short drive from Fredericksburg.

Almost hate to give this place 5 stars...but...the word will get out eventually.....So glad to see this place reopen. Started with a small menu, pretty much B-B-Q...great Brisket, the breakfast tacos were outstanding...Now an expanded menu, the B-B-Q sauce is worth the visit alone. Give me an IV of the sauce...its that damn good..!!Not sure why the Brisket has not made the Texas Monthly Top 50 B-B-Q list...!!! Moist, Tender, flavor...great smoke ring...and they aren't so proud of there Brisket that you need to take out a 2nd mortgage on your house to get a pound...!! Really...some BBQ joints are a bit too proud of there product...Bottom line, awesome food, great price...sure hate to see this place become a tourist destination....!!Well worth the drive...just don't tell anyone...!!!
