Upland hunting is a social experience that provides memories and meat for the table. After seeing an ad for Texas Fowl Outfitters on Facebook that provided transparent pricing and a location not more than an hour from my home, I put together an upland hunt with my kids and some friends. Having hunted upland game in the Northeast for years, this was my first upland hunt in Texas and an amazing experience!The location was accessible for a day hunt, the quality of the game stock was incredible and the fields were picturesque. This was my first hunt with quail, and they added a complexity to the hunt as they are fast and unpredictable. I would recommend TX Fowl Outfitters for upland hunting and hope to get a chance to go duck and hog hunting with them in the future!

Terrible experience. Was scammed into coming to hunt with a distant family member that allegedly works for this guide service. Before coming it was never discussed that he was currently working for a guide service nor was there any agreement to fees. Never was there a cancellation fee mentioned nor did we fill out any release forms. We came to shoot ducks and our first hunt ended up being a very slow goose hunt with no limit that ended earlier than 10am. Not what we wanted considering we had traveled all the way from FL to target ducks. On top of that we had to basically do all the setting up. We decided to give the guy the benefit of the doubt and hunt with him another day which also turned into a disappointment. First off the blind he had us in had absolutely no cover, ducks were flying but as soon as we would shoot one he would send his dog in which flared every other bird flying in the area. In a still water pond you leave the birds floating until you have a limit or close to it. He was constantly on his phone and at one point he left the blind to look for a wounded bird, which left us there to call for ourselves. We decided not to hunt anymore days with this outfitter and since then they have been harassing myself and friends by demanding more money for a cancellation fee which once again was never discussed. I’m sure there is a few guides for this service that mean well but be careful who you choose. This is why we refuse to use guides and coming here solidified our reasoning for not using them. Scams and we want our money back

We had two good experiences with these guys before the last trip. This last time we went out will be the last time we use this outfitter. I would understand if there were no birds to shoot at, that’s not their fault. I also understand the requirement for the guide to call for the shot for safety reasons. However, we had dozens of ducks fly right in front of us and land in the pond, fly by the guides head, and he had no idea. We spent $855 for 3 people to sit out in the cold for several hours. We were only able to shoot once and were two for two. I wouldn’t be at all upset if the birds never came, but we had plenty of birds to shoot if our guide were paying attention instead of playing with his dog or day dreaming. I wouldn’t have even been upset if he missed a bird or two, but he missed a literal flock of 15+ ducks the flew right in front of us. When they flew off, 5 flew right behind his head. He had no idea.

Tyler and the crew are top notch professionals! They bring nothing but a good time and ensure each hunt ends with a bang! Definitely a go to for anyone looking for Thermal Hog, Water fowl, upland birds or deer hunts!

I booked a duck hunt as a Christmas present for my husband and I a couple months ago and we decided to take our 13 year old daughter with us for a family hunting trip. This was her very first time to ever hunt, let alone to hunt birds. This was a second time duck hunt for me as well.When we got to the meeting location Saturday morning on 12/30/23 we were greeted by our guides TJ and Ron with smiles and excitement, even at 0515 hours.After a short drive to the hunting location, TJ and Ron helped us gather our gear and took us to the spot where we’d enjoy the next couple of hours not only duck hunting, but watching a pretty sunrise and enjoy some great conversation.TJ and Ron were both more than willing to answer any and every question we had and really aimed to not only make this an enjoyable hunt for my husband and I, but for our daughter. They took it personally to get our daughter on some birds and do what they could to give her the absolute best opportunity to shoot her first duck. After spending a couple hours hunting and through some great conversation, we decided to take the opportunity to enjoy a quail hunt as well that afternoon. Wow! That was an experience in itself. Not only was this a first for our daughter but it was a first for my husband and I. Again, these 2 guys out did themselves. They not only gave our daughter every opportunity to shoot birds, but they took the time to make sure she was successful. At the conclusion of our hunt, TJ took the time and showed our daughter how to clean her birds. He was so incredibly patient with her, even after spending several hours with us, and talked to her as if she was one of his own kids. She really thought this was the coolest thing and cleaned a couple more birds after she was shown how to do it. These guys made it a personal mission to get our 13 year old, stubborn, sassy daughter to smile and they were more than successful.On Sunday 12/31/2023, we got the opportunity to meet Spencer. He was fantastic as well!!After another short drive out to the hunting location, we gathered all of our gear and got ready while he set up the blind. After he completed this, he came to grab us and took us down to the blind. He made sure we were set up in the blind and went to put the finishing touches on everything before first light. At first light we started to see some ducks. We got to take a couple shots this morning and our daughter was again smiling from ear to ear. Spencer was very interactive with us and made sure to include our daughter as well. He was very informative in regard to different birds and regulations locally.After 2 days of hunting, We came home with some ducks and lots of quail. All 3 of these guides made this a more than memorable weekend for my family! The way these guys treated our daughter was incredible. There are no words to truly express our weekend spent with these guys and the memories that were made. All 3 of these guides went above and beyond to make sure that we were not only happy with our hunt, but that we were successful and taken care of. The compassion and hospitality that was shown this weekend was unlike anything I’ve ever seen before.I can’t even begin to put into words how grateful I am for all of these guys and the company itself. If anyone is looking for any sort of duck hunt or upland hunt, I would absolutely recommend these guys and this company as a whole to anyone!!
