It seems like a good place to shop, looks like you need some kind of membership in order to get good deals. I just stopped in to use the bathroom which was very clean. It was also pretty interesting that it's combined with an Ace hardware. It's a tad old and I don't thing think the big deals are super great, but not bad.

Can't belive this store will charge the sales taxes that's fine but they put a 10 per cent on top of the sale taxes to I like to try to save money as much as possible and I live just 2 mins from the store

On my visit to Food King I had gone to buy two items I forgot to purchase. I saw some deals I couldn't pass up on can goods, a large avocado and a bag of potatoes. The bag of potatoes and avocado a dollar cheaper then at another local store. The can goods were low priced. And you find any type of goods that you can't find anywhere else.In the middle of the isle where the registers are I found bottles of tea marked at 25 cents a bottle. That's a great deal. I like shopping here for the prices and the hard to find items. The one set back here, no help for carry out and no more money orders. The store is nicely kept and you can find the shelves fully stocked.

Very rude store manager. My parents and I were on the lookout for some usable pallets for a project we are working on. We noticed this store has a huge amount. I therefore went inside to ask the gentlemen at the Ace hardware register if I could take 4 of them and if that would be a problem. (Because I wouldn’t assume I can take something whiteout asking.) He stated no that would not be a problem. As we were loading the pallets the “store manager” came up to us flashing his very official badge that we were not allowed to take them and came up to us very rude and asking us aggressively who said we could take them. We explained that I had asked the man at the register. He didn’t like that answer and explained to us that we could not take them.The problem here is not that we couldn’t take the pallets but the fact was how unprofessional he was and how a man can’t handle a simple misunderstanding. He also waited around for us to leave as if we would try to sneak them off when he left. Will not be attending this store ever again because of this little interaction which did not have to be handle the way it did.

While it is nice to sometimes have an alternative to Wal-Mart, they add a mysterious 10% mark-up at the register, some of their items are blatantly price gouging, and their hours are not as good. All the prices they list are a lie to begin with because it is really that plus 10%. Like, they created their own internal tax. How is this legal? Oh and check out this snow brush price. $57.91 (plus 10%) for a plastic brush that I found online for $5. This was the night right before the snow that never arrived. Even the cashier thought it was ridiculous because they were kind enough to warn me. The employees here are the best thing about this store actually. They're super helpful. I think this needs to change. Just list normal final prices and ditch the 10% lower façade. Also, you can't just overcharge people for emergency situation items! That's got to be illegal.

This store has had great costumer service thought the years. While sopping they made the announcement that the store was now close to precede to the chasher. While I was heading to to pay I quickly was going to by some bottles of water. And a young man that was in change that night yelled at me it was time to leave. After years of coming here It was the first time this happened to me. What poor costumer service. I was justed going to get water that was it. Was not a reason to get yelled at.

This is a good store where you need to watch for the sales. They carry some good products. They sometimes have great prices on meats, milk, cheese and other goods. The one thing to look at is this place is a cost plus 10 percent. This means they tack on one dollar for every $10 you buy and for taxable items your bill goes up accordingly. Their cost does seem out of line at times do watch your prices. They have an Ace Hardware in the store for those quick needed items. Otherwise you can find good bargains if you take your time to shop.

The aisles are spacious. I really didn't notice any price differences as far a savings compared to the other local store in town. However it clean and the cashier that cashed me out was friendly and talkative.

Have started to visit Food King every time I pass thru Devine or visit for work. This store carries varieties of items not available in San Antonio larger grocery stores.I've found regional items that are hard to find, brands that cost less, and have purchased meat at prices that beat HEB and Walmart in San Antonio.The meat combos are a good deal, bacon prices here have been really good, and even the canned and bottled soft drinks are priced better than most places.Im still finding new items every time I visit despite the store being fairly small.. This store has gained me as a customer.

This place is great for small town convience. Some things that are on sale weekly are awesome! You can see new ads online on Wednesday. The downside hard to get freshest produce especially lettuce and everything you buy gets a 10%fee at end of transaction. Some kind of surcharge. Only reason I go back is because lets say packs of good lunch meat are on sale for 99cents with charge $1.08. Usual price same pack last week was $2.59plus 25cents charge! Just a real example. If it's not on sale probably cost a little more than normal. Overall not bad I'm always in and out!

This is Walmart's less expensive little brother, the best beef, pork, and chicken prices in town. I've never met a nicer staff, always ready to help. The hospitality good manners culture has found a home here.

Line gets long sometimes at register with only 2 cashiers. But for the most part what I don't find at HEB I can surely find here. I visit the ACE in the store for all of my DIY home projects.

I’d give this place zero stars if I could. I have been spending my money on food and other groceries here every now and then and everything is extremely low quality. Mascara is a cheap chunk of black makeup that doesn’t go on your eyelashes, milk is being sold even if it EXPIRED A WEEK AGO, the place is dirty and can’t be kept clean. I just tried to enjoy a bowl of cereal with milk. The cereal had a burnt aftertaste to it and I made the fatal mistake of buying week’s old milk that expired October 13. It had chunks in it! Immediately threw it out. I will NEVER buy another thing from this store again!

I make small purchases here because it is convenient. Some of the staff are very friendly, but some of them need to learn better manners and show better respect for all people - young and old, brown/black/white, physically/mentally challenged! The younger management people need to stop playing on the loud speaker in the evening as it very annoying and unnecessary. I will continue to shop here because the Ace Hardware is attached to the grocery store, but sometimes it is actually easier to get milk/bread from the Dollar General located across the street.

The place didn't have almost anything that I needed. Had to change dinner plans last minute. Smelled AWFUL, I was walking down the isles gagging and holding my nose. I would've just left without purchasing had I had time to stop anywhere else. The cashier however was very nice and got me through quickly.

Love this place here in Devine, love the mom and pop feeling when you walk in the door. The Ace Hardware Store located seamlessly in the same building makes it very convenient to shop for other items besides food... A great place to go for a cordless drill and a dozen eggs that your honey might have just called to remind you about

If I could give zero stars I would bought a jar of jelly yesterday because the kids wanted peanut butter and jelly they made their own sandwiches and today everyone's stomach has been hurting and when I was going to make a sandwich there was mold inside on the lid and when I checked the expiration date it expired in April!

Decent if you dont feel like going to a bigger store. Kinnda messy looking by design, lots of bins threw out the store to make it seem like its over stock. Thry add an extra percent at the register so the prices on the shelf look like great deals but there the same prices as anywhere else, or more once you get the tottal. The produce is small but decent quality most of the time. The meat markets pretty great actully, they have butchers in the back who know what there doing and will do cuts for you. Tobacco section is almsot always understocked. No returns because of pandemic.

It's ok, it's not no wal mart and for sure no HEB but they do have some good specials. But there produce and vegetables are like 3rd rated. Meat is not top rated. It's like having another handy andy. But I'll still go to food king.

If I could leave a comment without having to select a single star, I would. Every time I come here, there is zero customer service skills being applied to anything. They have a ton of gnats around their produce, their meats seem to have been previously frozen andthawed. I have yet to meet anyone there who even knows what customer service is. Yes they are quick to get you out, that's bc they are never busy, possibly due to lack of professionalism and horrible food choices. If I didnt have to stop there out of convenience, I'd never go there again. Plain gross.
