This is my most favorite store out of all of DFW. Lee knows his fish better than anyone I've ever met. Healthy livestock, fantastic prices, lots of high end fish that you won't see anywhere else. I highly recommend this store, especially if you're in the market for saltwater fish. The majority of fish I have came from there, and many of the corals also.

I've been in the saltwater aquarium for a couple years but just recently visited school of fish and it will be my go to fish store from now on. Don't let the location fool you! The store keeps the most amazing, high end marine fish you've ever seen in pristine tanks but also has something for everyone. The owner, Lee, has an amazing knowledge of fish and a passion for what he does. I highly recommend giving this store a try and check out the green moray eel in back.

Lee is so friendly and helpful the selection and pricing of his fish are unbeatable..not to mention in store specials. I have seen beautiful healthy fish that are not too common in the hobby. Love this place so happy we have a great store close to home it has been struggle to find quality fish at these prices..

I’ve placed several orders with them. With everyone, the fish were healthy and in perfect condition. I’ve done both air cargo and FedEx /UPS and no issues with shipping. They have an incredible selection of some of the rarest fish in the hobby. It’s well worth paying a little extra for healthy, high quality fish.

First time visiting and we were pleasantly surprised by the great selection and how outstanding customer service is here. The owner is super knowledgeable and really wants to see people succeed in this hobby. He quarantines/conditions his fish and makes sure they're solid before letting them go home with you. He doesn't try to just make a buck off you like a lot of other competitors. My husband and I lost track of time and I'm pretty sure he stayed open well past their store hours, we didnt feel rushed at all and went home very satisfied. How often do you come across that? We will absolutely be repeat customers and exclusively come here for fish in the future. Just sad we didn't know about this place sooner. 100% recommend!

Absolutely the best fish store anywhere. Lee makes you feel like a friend when you come in, always helpful and kind, and is more than fair. He has the best quality and some of the rarest fish you'll ever see. He and Christian are fantastic and give great advice, sharing their knowledge freely. Great local fish store. Lee and his employees actually care about the fish they have for sale and it shows. They have a great QT and treatment regimen, and keep the individual tanks fairly clean. He spent the time to stop and talk with me for about 30 minutes even though I only spent $80 on fish and not $800. He inventory was great too. Lots of beautiful fish. Definitely worth the drive down if you are up in DFW.

I purchased my first tank in January after a close friend talked me into joining the hobby. I initially visited most of the local fish shops in DFW to ask questions and shop for fish, water, accessories, etc. It is now May and School of Fish has become my go to shop even though it isn’t the closest to my house at all. The selection of saltwater fish is incredible. I honestly think they could charge admission. Even so, Lee never gets annoyed with my newbie questions and is easily the most hands on owner of any shop in the metroplex. He knows every fish he has in stock and has personally been there every time I’ve visited. His staff is very friendly and I’m always impressed with the how healthy the fish look. Overall, I highly recommend you at least take the time to visit to see for yourself. I’d give more stars if I could.

This place is the best place to go for support and advice on the hobby of salt or fresh water aquariums. The owner is very knowledgeable and is very willing to answer questions as well as give advice. It is very obvious that his love for this hobby extends to the care of all living things and their health not only in his care, but in their care once they leave his store. He will make sure you have a good understanding of how to take care the fish, crab, snail, or what ever it is that you purchased. The store is part of a school so his commitment to teaching is apparent and makes me proud to make School of Fish my favorite place to go for all of my fish tank needs. Excellent 5 star for School of Fish.

Amazing fish store, hands down the best in DFW. Great selections with incredible prices. I have never seen so many high quality fish in one store. The staff was very knowledgeable which is demonstrated on the health of the fish & corals. Outstanding customer service, a must visit for all fish lovers.

Lee, the owner is very knowledgeable and the fish he has there are large, beautiful, and seemingly healthy. The aquarium store itself was also clean and the staff were very helpful. Perhaps the most important; the prices were for the most part very reasonable. Overall, our first visit was a good one and we plan to go back again.

First time coming here and loved it. Mr. Lee is very helpful and has alot of knowledge when it come to marine fish. I would recommend everyone in the hobby to come by and visit him. It was at least an 1 hour drive for us but it was worth it. Prices are very good. Beautiful fish very healthy. Thank you so much.

Hands down the best fish place around. Lee has a ridiculously amount of knowledge on marine fish and he answered all of my questions. The variety of fish is incredible and he has fish you'll never see in other stores. I ended up leaving with a True personifer and a couple of butterflies. I Highly recommend this place

I would give this place 10 stars if I could!! Lee was very knowledgeable and friendly. We spent 3 and a half hours in there visiting with him and looking at all the awesome fish- many of which we'd never seen anywhere else! I would highly recommend stopping by and checking this place out, we will definitely be back by on our next trip to Dallas!!

I had a great experience with Lee! I met him after trading some light fixtures that led to me custom ordering a few fish. The specimens he brought in for me (white tail bristletooth, naoko wrasse) were top notch, very healthy, and are doing great for me! I picked up a couple more fish and inverts at the School of Fish storefront in De Soto. There’s a ton of fishkeeping experience with this guy, and I would absolutely recommend and procure more from him in the future!
