Thank you Dekalb Animal Hospital!! Thank you Dr Moon!! They now handle after hours vet care and are awesome!! Apparently our daughters English Bulldogs got kicked in the face by one of our horses tonight and almost knocked out her left canine. Rushed her to Dekalb Animal Hospital and Dr Moon removed the canine and settled our nerves as it defiantly looked worse than just one tooth as we thought she was in a lot worse shape. We just arrived home with the dog and could not be happier. Highly recommend them!!

I had a new patient appointment yesterday for a general check-up and a 3 year rabies vaccination for my 19-month-old great dane. The vet and *all* of his staff were absolutely wonderful with my giant dog, who's poorly socialized and a scaredy-cat, because we've had to strictly self-isolate during the pandemic due to personal health risks. New places and new people freak this dog out, and the vet took all the time in the world to let Ender get comfortable with him before beginning the actual exam, which I greatly appreciated. This was probably the longest and most thorough discussion with a vet that I've ever had, even though my dog and I were there for inconsequential reasons. I also witnessed a discussion between the vet and another client about euthanizing a baby goat that was failing to thrive, and it was a very compassionate and practical conversation, which I was comforted to observe, in the event that I need to euthanize any animals in the future. Sure, I've only had one appointment so far, but I'd gladly recommend this vet practice based on that visit! We'll keep coming back.

Excellent Vet. I would highly recommend. No one was willing to treat my little dog that is 12 years old with her lipoma because of her grade 3 heart murmur. The Vet removed it and my dog is doing well.We have seen other Vets in the metroplex that would not touch her.Thank you.

This is Diana Crites. We moved to Dekalb a couple of months ago and hadn’t had the chance to take our dogs for vet appointments yet. Earlier this week, our little Coton de Tulear, Elan, got sick. Found out she had pyrometra which is life threatening. The team at Dekalb Animal Hospital didn’t hesitate to take her in and do emergency surgery. Thank you to everyone, Dr Austin is the only name I remember but we appreciate you all. Thank you for giving our girl back to us. She’s doing great . Running and almost able to jump on the sofa. Got a cute little hitch in her get along for now. Bless you all! We’ll be back with our other 4 dogs.

Took my 2 dogs, husky and great pyrenees, for a blood test and rabies shot. They were super quick with the whole process. They were calm and friendly which really helped keep the dogs mellow. I would highly recommend this place. They take great care of your babies and really make you feel at ease through the whole process.

Not satisfied with the service I have received, at all. Scheduled a routine spay appointment, took my cat in and expected to be able to check in on her over a small break in my workday at 9:30, again at 12:00, and then attempted to call again at 2:30 with no answer, nor response. I understand they might be busy, but this is apparently a chronic issue at Dekalb Vet Hospital, being unavailable. Arrived to pick my animal up and she was handed to me without any other post-op care instructions other than, “no food until tomorrow morning but you can give her water.” No protective cone to keep her from licking the incision open, no pain medication prescribed for during the healing process, and no instructions to quarantine for any amount of time. I trusted the professionals and did not ask questions. It has been 3 days and I had to make an appointment with another vet office to check on my cat. She is inflamed and refuses to eat because she is in post surgery pain. After ANOTHER vet bill, I am hoping the treatment received is enough, next stop is Shreveport by referral if no results by Monday. I do not recommend taking your small animals to this office, they are clearly more involved with the large animals. If this review is viewed by the professionals at this office, you might want to increase reception training and post-op care regiment before anymore clients are lost. I will not be coming back.

Had to take our Golden Retriever to see a vet. I had heard good things about DeKalb Animal Hospital from friends, but had never used them until today! We saw Dr. Fetner and we loved him, very knowledgeable and got down on the floor with our dog to check him out! Let me just say, we have a new Vet! Thank you Dr. Fetner!

My husband and I have been using DeKalb Animal Hospital since bringing home our German Shepherd dog almost 4 years ago when he was eight weeks old. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always helpful. We have had our dog in for routine visits, sick visits, as well as for surgery and have always felt we got the very best care possible. Exam rooms are always clean, odor free, and well-maintained.

Absolutely LOVE this clinic. They go above & beyond for their clients & treat us like family. I recommend everyone to use them from small to large animals. The Twin Rivers Vet Supply in connection with the clinic is such a blessing in my line of work as a cattle producer. I wish there were more than 5 stars to give to the De Kalb Animal Hospital, they truly deserve it.

I was needing 15 dairy cows tested for raw milk sales. So I called them about it and said they would call me back . Never did call me so a week later I called them back. She said they wouldn't do it because they wouldn't make enough money. That is the worst customer service ever. If they can't stick you with a big bill they don't want you. So find a vet that cares about there customers and not the dollar. There are a lot of vets around that want your business find one not these people. Great vets on staff. I have taken all my animals here since they opened. They treat cows, horses and small animals. Very gentle and caring with your pets. After hours and weekend emergency care available. Easy to find near the intersection of highways 82 and 259 on the west side of Dekalb.
