Upon arrival at Family Dollar on April 27th at 7:50 PM, I was greeted at the door by a light-skinned male employee. He informed me that the store was closed for 30 minutes due to having only one cashier available. I politely explained that I simply needed to purchase a flower vase and inquired if there might be an exception.Unfortunately, the employee's response was dismissive. He stated that regardless of my reason for entering, I would need to wait for the 30-minute closure. When I questioned why I should wait if the store was currently empty, he became argumentative, ultimately stating that waiting was not mandatory.Areas for Improvement:* Customer Service: The employee's demeanor was unprofessional and lacked courtesy. This store needs new management, new employees, and a new building! This ratchet, dirty, pissy smelling location (plus people) need a whole new makeover. The building is NEVER clean. All the employees claim they're the manager. I have never seen a store with over 6 managers. The employees are constantly disrespecting the customers and cursing and yelling at us. They are rude, have attitudes when you ask for assistance, and talk crazy to everyone. This location needs to be reported and shut down or hire all new people.

This location is very rude. I was just told by a cashier that I was rude. First off I'm a customer asking for cash back at 5 o'clock in the afternoon. Why would you not have it. You could borrow from the safe or get it from your register. FOLLOW COMPANY POLICY

Bought a iphone charger for my daughter. Did not work took it back the next day ask to exchange the charger for another. They told me to come back the next day when the truck came. I went the next day same thing still no truck! They told me to come back Monday when the truck come. She said i rather you come Tuesday thats when everything will be out the boxes and unpack! So i waited and today is Tuesday. Still no charger. Everybody in the store was so rude each time i went back. Will never go back here ever again!!!

I just left from here today 07/09/18 at around 6:50pm. I noticed right away I was the only caucasian in the store, no matter to me I grew up with mixed neighbor hoods. I could hear people talking about me being white. The cashier , a lady, no matter how hard I tried to be nice wouldn't say anything back. All I needed was some bowls to feed and water my dog with who lives with me in the semi I drive. I get the feeling this isn't the neighborhood for any white people. Sad, I've never done anything personally to offend anyone around here. Bet , I wont be back to spend money here.

Great customer service which is NOT equivalent to friendly or inviting...service is helping, listening, and responsiveness. Friendly is more personality. As long as people are approachable, listen and do their best to help (going above and beyond, if they can) I do not think the color of your/their skin matters. I am Black and when a White sales associate or cashier is unfriendly to me, I assume they are either having a bad day or they just are not a friendly person. If I over heat side conversations among other customers (or staff) about me especially suggesting I do not "belong" or should not be spending my money with them/in there, I pity them. They are worde than rude, ignorant/tacky, they are un-American!!!Free enterprise is a foundation of our nation's wealth; and, the only color that matters in a capitalist country is green!

Rude and vulgar employee's that treat customers as if they should be happy to be allowed to shop at this store. Cursing and use of vulgar language in front of customers and children....innatentive to customers as if you should just walk around until you find what you need as if they are bothered if you ask for assistance.

I have been trying for quite some time to file a complaint about the unbelievable experience I received at the Family Dollar Store that is located at the Elsey Faye Higgins store which is located in the South Dallas shopping Center ( which is really a joke), for some reason I can't seem to file a legitimate complaint that I am really praying that someone of authority will see how the people of the Family Dollar Corp. is being represented by the incapable employees that they hire. On the 24th of Dec. of last year I was in the store at (FD) and I noticed that there was a new fragrance of body wash that was on the shelf, well I decided to take a quick smell of the body wash, so I was having a little trouble with the opening of the bottle, so I tried another one, just as I began to take a sticker off the hole out of nowhere a lady snatched the bottle out of my hand. I was so shocked because I had no idea who she was or where she came from. I was completely lost and became very puzzled and upset. The woman had no tag or uniform to indicate that she was a employee. Several times I asked her "who was she but she never identified herself. The woman became very rude. At this point I am loud and confused about what I had done to deserve such treatment. I made the statement that she should be glad I had not slapped her face. By this time one of the other employee had come from another part of the store. Still don't know who this rude and untrained person is. All of a sudden this crazy woman swung and hit, not hard because by this time the other em plo yee is standing close to us. couldn't believe what was happening. Then all of a sudden people are looking. And things got way out of hand. No one stepped forward to identify themselves as a Manager. I was swearing loud and so was the Family' Dollar employees. By this time I am so upset and totally embarrassed. There are about 5 of the employees pushing me and saying that I need to just leave the store, and no one has told me why. They pushed me out of the store and no one ever told me why I was treated so disrespectful and not to mention just "down right" dogged out! While I am standing outside the crazy person and one of the other employees stood and laughed while the held the door to make sure U didn't try to return. I have made a few attempts to contact someone about this matter. I will not stop until I get answers and apology. I am definitely going to seek Legal advice because no one should ever put the hands on anyone. I have already had a call from someone, but I really didn't have time to speak to someone at this time because I was trying to focus on my family because it was at Christmas time that this ordeal totally destroyed my entire holiday. How in the hell do you not have pads? When I asked the clerk do they have any in the back she said " we put em on the shelf and they go fast" 😞🤔! I know everybody in South Dallas not on their monthly at the same time! What an inconvenience!

THIS IS THE WORST FAMILY DOLLAR I HAVE EVER BEEN IN THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS POOR AND THE EMPLOYEES ARE VERY VERY RUDE SHELVES ARE ALWAYS EMPTY. WHEN THE TRUCK DOES ARRIVE THING'S ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF ISLES, WHEN YOU ASK FOR HELP THEY ACT AS IF YOU SAID SOMETHING WRONG. I WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE THAT REALLY CAN HELP.
