I was in heaven when I walked in the store I found the fish I wanted plus some. The young guy that helped us is great . He is very knowledgeable and great positive attitude he went above and beyond. Will definitely go back.

From Kansas City! Stopped in just to have a look. Very fun fresh and salt water fish. Very nice gentleman running the place. He was happy to talk fish. Definitely stop to see the clams and cichlids!

Always a pleasure but this past visit was even more so. The young man who assisted us was very polite and informative. The establishment was clean and attractive and both young men were free with their information and didn't talk down to us when being asked questions. It great to see the Haven getting back to its former friendly helpful aquarium and fish supplier. Also very diverse variety of all aquarium inhabitants. Looking forward to finally buying my new saltwater tank now that I have a reliable resource to help me reestablish my marine tanks after losing my other to hurricane harvey.

I bought my first betta here a year ago and he is still alive and healthy. I love the banana plants I have bought here. I have gotten several nice aquatic plants here that the big box stores don't sell. They have beautiful display aquariums too. Glad to have a local freshwater aquarium store near by.

The is a nice local shop that has a very good variety of fish that you won't find anywhere else in the city. However some fish stock that they do have you can find at the local big stores for half the cost that they are asking.I will continue to shop here because like I said they have stock that you won't find at the big stores, however beware that on the receipt all sales are final and there is no 7 day or 14 days guarantee that your stock will not have issues from the date of purchase. I've bought several fish from here with no issues, however I have bought a few that did have lymphocystis which I was not happy about since I paid $20 on a fish with poor quality. Oh well, it's the risk you take when you shop small businesses. If you are okay with that risk then this is a great place to buy. Just make sure that the stock you are buying had no issues. Like I also said before I've had great success with some stock I've purchased from here but for those that have issues you will have to eat the cost.

Never had a bad experience with fish or coral bought, I've always had great results when following the advice from the knowledgable staff. Prices are very generous. All my livestock have been bought here and everything is thriving.

We love this place! Friendly and knowledgeable staff are always ready to help. They have a good selection of both freshwater and saltwater fish - all in a locally owned business. There is also a good selection of plants, filters, media, and even some decor.I noticed prices compare almost directly with the big box pet stores which is impressive to me, especially considering the shop is not a chain. I prefer to purchase fish here because I know they’re also better cared for than the big box stores around town.I’m addition to a variety of interesting species including everything you’d find at a large retailer (and more), the shop has a good selection of tanks and much more knowledgeable employees than I’ve seen elsewhere.If your looking to start a tank for the first time ever or are an experienced aquarium owner in search of some new items, this is the store I would recommend in Corpus Christi.

We went in mainly to price what aquariums and stands were going for , ours has been empty for awhile. We have talked about starting a salt water tank in the past , but I think starting one is more than we want to spend right now. They do have a big variety of fish. The staff / owners are not nearly as friendly as the ones we bought from years ago , and the store NEVER had wet floors, open doors, and just plain messy .

I’d like to share about a local business that has no concern for their customers. I bought 14 fish from Tropical Fish Haven in Corpus Christi Texas! My uncle purchased a silver dollar, an angel fish and 12 neon tetras! All 12 neons have died! When he inquired with them about this, the response he received was that neons are not reliable fish and if looked at wrong they die! This is not not good business relations and we will NEVER purchase fish from Tropical Fish Haven again!

I I have bought from the store numerous of times every time I have gone in there the staff has been very rude and unprofessional. I don’t feel welcomed in the store. then I call for some advice on two fish that I had gotten and the lady tells me she has no advice for me. Then tells me she has to go because she has customers just because I tell her that I was going to go look at Petsmart from some hiding spot figurines for the fish and then hangs up on me I then proceeded to call her back and let her know that that was very rude that she’s a fish store and they should be having no issue with giving advice to people about fish that they own. All just because I said I was gonna go to Petsmart to get some figurines due to the fact that they don’t really have much of a selection over there and then she hangs up on me again. I just find that very unprofessional I really don’t like the vibe every single time going into that store. Just sharing my experience.

Asked employee to give me smallest catfish in the tank, I didn't inspect the fish, typically cats are bulletproof. I get home and noticed the fish was not only missing a tail but also had a large red wound. The dorsal fin split in every section. I immediately called and they were closed. I had to make up a temporary tank as there was no way I was putting it in with my other fish. I went the next morning, one hour after opening and explained the situation and was shocked by employees response. Absolutely unwilling to help me with an exchange or credit, however was informed they DO accept donations and will take the fish I just paid 14 for free but your out your money. I explained I require all body parts when I purchase a fish for 14 dollars. I have spent 500 in that store in last month, I have bought multiple fish that have died and I have said nothing. I will also add they had a tank with tetras that looked polka dotted with ich, I did mention to employee. Well I know I have spent my last dime there, I will add PETSMART gives a 14 day guarantee on fish, this place doesn't give ya 24 hours. Terrible, losing 1000s over 14 dollar fish, doesn't make sense. I suggest you spend your money elsewhere. NOT how TEXANS treat TEXANS

DO NOT GO HERE:Summary:1) horrible live rock, gave my tank red slime and dinoflagellates.2) the salt water they sell for water changes has salinity at 1.021, they insist its 1.025 but their calibration is wrong and i proved it without a shadow of a doubt. the water is high in nitrites and phosphates.3) their fish come diseased.this place is cheaper for a reason. ended up costing me more money.Here is the story. (EXTENDED CUT)- i originally bought my tank here cycled it and started adding livestock. i initially used dry rock but then decided to by one piece of live rock, i understand that no matter where you buy your live rock it wont be perfect and will come with some bad algae/parasites. but this was next level, i immediately got a terrible outbreak of both red slime and dinoflagellates. that reeked havoc on my tank for weeks before i could get it under control with help from our other LFS.- as this was going on i decided to do a rather big water change to try and remove some of the dino ( i was getting desperate to save what i could) so i went to tropical fish haven and bought enough water for a 50% change. i did the change and immediately my corals retracted even further. at the time i only had a few test kits ( no salinity check - Refractometer) so i took it to Salty aquatics to do a full panel water test (they have digital meters) and my salinity came back at 1.022. i thought that maybe i had accidentally asked for RO instead of salt so i bought salt, added it to the water and moved on. then i bought another jug of salt water from Tropical Fish haven and before doing a water change i check the salinity with my brand new (calibrated) refractometer and read the salinity at 1.020. being very low i took it to tropical fish haven and asked them to check it and they said it was perfect at 1.025 on their refractometer, then i took it to Salty aquatics to get a third opinion with their digital meter and they read it at 1.020. i then sent the water to be tested in a lab and they came back with same results plus found it was high in nitrites and phosphates as well.- before this happened i bought two damsels to start the tank. with in a week or two both had died. huh i figured new tank maybe my fault. bought 1 more (maybe they were fighting). dead in a week. i then saw that in their damsel tank they had multiple dead fish at the bottom. i bought 2 clowns. dead. TFH blamed my water temp (77F) and sold me a heater and 2 more clowns. both dead in a week. finally bought a couple fish from salty. what do you know they lived and are thriving today even through all the trials and tribulations above.

I shopped PetSmart and Petco both before going to Tropical Fish Haven. The fish in PetSmart and Petco were sickly and had numerous dead fish in aquariums that were nasty looking . I found the fish and tanks at Tropical Fish Haven clean and healthy. I ended up buying a lot more fish than I intended to get. This is the very best place in Corpus Christi to find healthy fish and supplies

Decent Local Fish Store. They have a good variety and their prices are comparable to Petco. Unfortunately, they don’t have a guarantee on any fish…. My neon rainbow died two days after I bought it but no refund. Not going to hammer them on a review since it’s an LFS and we should support them as well. The reps there are very helpful (especially this young guy in his 20s, forgot his name).

This is THE place to go in Corpus.I have recently been informed by management that the staff is not required to adhere to county laws regarding wearing masks. If you are in contact with elderly or immunocompromised individuals, stay away from this shop.

The girl was amazing , my first tank and i had no idea what to do and i had so many questions and she was just very patient and nice the whole entire time. And as well as the fish , a great selection of salt and fresh. I would officially make this store my go-to for fish and for high quality products.

Very good selection, and very knowledgeable staff, however you will be paying a premium for fish from here, and they don't support local breeders but expect to be supported by said breeders. Fish I get from this place is a 50/50 they'll get ich, so quarantining your fish is a must before you add to your tank and lose a third of your fish. With that being said I do go here often but mostly because they usually have fish Petco, and PetSmart won't have, if you're a beginner hobbyist, I'd go there for the info from the staff but then I'd go to Petco or PetSmart to make my purchase to save a bit of money on fish. Just my 2 cents.

Love this place. Used to shop for fish supplies at petsmart or petco but I could not afford those places any more. They kept upping their prices. So glad I found this place. I can get anything I need for my fish and if they don't have it in stocks I can ask for them to order it in and they usually get it in store in about a week. They have great prices and great service. I will continue to buy all my fish supplies from here.
