I am utterly shocked about the improvement my dog (Chex a Dalmatian) has made with the groomer Samantha. I first started taking Chex to her around 12 weeks old and it’s fair to say Chex was not the best client. Samantha assured me his apprehensive behavior was normal due to his uncertainty from his first bath and nail trims. I got to watch Samantha work with chex very patiently and even got to watch Chex start to adapt to his new environment and experience.Chex is 4 months now and there is so much improvement from him. I will never shy away from Samantha. Samantha has put her time and her experience into my dog and it showed today. I got to watch him jump up on the table today and stand there perfectly letting her do his nails. I can’t believe how far my dog has come. I also couldn’t say anything nicer about the whole America’s Country Store and Pet Resort. I even got tips and tricks on training my dog. I have received so much positive feedback about my dogs mannerisms and I couldn’t have done it without the employees from the Americas Country Store and Pet Resort!

America’s Country Store has been great to Mack and me with their boarding service! They are always willing to do whatever it takes to deal with my difficult scheduling needs.Plus, their grooming service! My old Mack goes in looking grumpy and stinky and comes out looking like a happy young pup!

Very honest and friendly business. I worked here briefly and I can say they truly care about their staff, their customers (whom they know by name), and their ethics and standards.They provide friendly and quality service and products, always working to make clients happy. They take great care of the dogs that board there and are groomed there (I've seen it firsthand)Excellent management who takes care of their staff, and an all around wholesome and honest business. Its easy to see why they've been around for almost two decades.Thank you America's Country Store!!

We took our 6 month old golden doodle for trimming around nails and stomach. We told them we want him to stay fluffy and not look like a poodle. They replied that they like to keep doodles fluffy as well. When we picked him up that is exactly what he looked like. Shaven top to bottom. I called and they stated they watched video and listened to our conversation and they told us that is what we told you we would do. That is not true and we wouldn’t have dropped him off if we knew that. Very disappointed with their response and lying about what was said when he was dropped off. The training we had leading up to this was fantastic but grooming not so much.

This review is for the grooming salon and Samantha specifically. I brought my 1.5 year old 8lb dog in to be groomed for only the second time in her life. While Samantha was shaving my dog’s feet, my dog yelped. I knocked on the door and said that it seemed like she did not like her feet being shaved (even though I do it at home and she is fine with it) and to skip shaving them. Samantha forcefully informed me that my dog was fine and that she needed to learn how to put up with being shaved. Completely disregarding my (THE OWNER’S) wishes, she turned her back on me and continued shaving my dog’s feet. I stood there in shock while she roughly started to cut my dog’s nails while my dog yelped and bit at the clippers. I could not believe that this person was 1.) perfectly happy to do something to a dog that the dog was telling her either hurt, or was scary 2.) felt like she had any right to make any decisions about what MY dog needed to learn how to put up with. I finally snapped out of it before she cut the last of my dog’s nails and demanded that I be given my dog back because I was leaving. All I could hear being said behind me was “she didn’t pay”. And Samantha made sure to come out and stand by the register and tell me that my grooming bill was at the register and to make sure that I paid for my partially shaved dog’s groom. I have been shopping at ACS for about 12 years. I had waiting for me at the register a $30 small bag of cat food and a $15 small bottle of conditioner for my dog’s hair. The grooming bill was not my concern, but it was clearly her only concern. I paid for it all, asked to have the owner call me and left. I would never recommend that anyone who cares about their dog allow Samantha to groom it. If she was fine with ignoring my dog’s pain/fear with me standing right there, what is she fine with doing when no one can see her? To be clear, the owner, Erika called me immediately and apologized sincerely. She offered me a full refund, but I only accepted a partial refund since I left with a dog that looked like she had been through a blender. I paid for the portion of the groom that was the bath and dry since she did receive that. I hope this review helps someone else who is in the same position I was in to make an informed decision.**EDITed in response to owner’s reply** I have added a photo of the flyer I discussed with Samantha showing her how I wanted my dog groomed. We discussed that I wanted her legs to be shorter than the white body. I wanted them to be like the tan one. I was told I would need to pay $10 more because she would need to use scissors, which I was fine with. I have also added two screenshots (so you can see the date) of photos I quickly took after my dog’s experience at ACS. I am not sure how ACS could claim (after seeing the video) that the groom was almost done when this is what my dog looked like when I left with her. The sound that my dog made was a yelp and she made it several times. As a responsible pet owner, I have worked with my dog since I got her to make her comfortable with being groomed. She has been shaved by me at home every month for 13 months. I also clip her nails, brush her teeth and clean her ears. Her feet are washed after each walk (allergies). No part of being groomed or (gently) handled is a surprise to her. She has been purposefully socialized and as a result loves and is happy to meet new people. She is not a shy or timid dog and my goal is to keep her that way by only allowing her to have positive experiences.

Wow wow wow. Just moved from the big city of San Antonio and had high expectations coming from our incredible experience from “Lucy’s Doggy Daycare” in San Antonio.I will say certain things are smaller scale but that’s to be expected given the move. Overall I am very impressed. LOVE the report cards. That was something unique we got a Lucy’s and love that yall also do something similar. It’s a personal touch and to use millenial doggy parents it means a ton the extra effort. Love the friendly staff and love how communicative yall are.Overall very happy and can see why yall are locally rated highly within our BCS community.Kudos to your staff and how much they love our pets.Looking forward to taking advantage of further trainings, and holiday events etc.

At America’s Country Store the staff and groomers are so professional and courteous. I have a large and difficult dog and somehow they are able to trim his nails and at the same time calm him down with soothing words. They take pride in their work and they do it with kindness. Thank you!

Dog boarding and daycare center is fantastic. The girls working there really seem to care about your pet. Our dog loves going to play during the day at daycare, and pulls us in the door every trip.

We “were” buying our supplies for our small Chicken Farm at TSC, but decided to check this place out.Wow, their prices blew TSC out of the Water so we bought several Bags of Quality Feed while we were there.They also had a huge selection of pretty much anything else you would need for any other animals you may own.I got a great deal on some Salmon Dog Food on Special 50% Off, which my GSD eats because her sensitive GI and Allergies.They help support Urgent Animals of Hearne, which is how I found out about the place and also a great reason to come by here and drop donations to help the Shelter Animals!If I had only one complaint, their Cat Supply selection seemed a little small.

We love taking Poochie (my Grandmother's pup) to get groomed here. We have never had issues and she seems to like going.There are a few nifty little gifts for yourself or others and all kinds of pet supplies. A year or so ago I needed a new diet food for MY dog and Ericka help me choose one. She showed me every bag in that store and in catalogs that would work for us. She took her time, at least an hour with no warning that I was coming. She was fabulous and still asks about my dog Roscoe when I come in.

They have everything you could ask for in the pet department. Their prices are pretty high!!!! I asked for a quote to bathe my 100lb dog, and it was $90!!! I just have him bathed at Sit Means Sit for $10 instead. I do go here for dog toys, but I buy my dog and cat food at Tactor Supply. The staff are very nice.

Only went in to take a friend's dog for grooming. They are too far out of my way. However, if I lived closer, I would most likely be using this place quite often. They have a great selection of pet supplies, but their grooming shop really impressed me. I like that you can see the pets being groomed, which to me is quite important. The price was reasonable also. The only thing I didn't like as much was having to leave the dog for 3 hrs even after having an appointment time. I understand that it is harder to manage a tighter schedule, but it should be possible. Regardless, I would still recommend them.

We've been taking our Maltese Doodle here for grooming for the last couple years now and they never disappoint! We recently got a new puppy and I was a bit anxious about how his first session would go, but it went so much better than I could have imagined.

My dog attends playcare weekly and we love the staff and the facility is wonderful! He also gets groomed here and his teeth, nails, ears and coat have never been healthier! Do yourself a favor and bring your dog here!

The staff have always been friendly, and when they didn't know the answer, they tried to find one. We have Lso had good luck with the grooming and the periodic classes, such as deciding on whether to raise chickens. They have good products as well.So, here are other observations. Pay attention to the hours. They do not have the big box store hours. That is not a knock, but just an alert to plan a bit or be patient. I stopped going for awhile because the hours were not as flexible as I needed, but I go when I can. I mention it, because I've run into some that just avoid them because of the hours. Give them a chance.Also, they don't have the back stock of a big box store. Again, a little planning can go a long way. Call in advance, do a special order, or just plan to return. Like I said, give them a chance. It's nice walking into a store and not feeling like a number.

We were using this for the doggy day care, which is staffed by friendly, dog loving, cheerful and positive ladies. Our dog came home exhausted and happy. The store next door has horse, dog and cat needs. It is well stocked and clean, so left us wondering why we were the only customers. Very pleasant shopping experience, so maybe the location?

Great place to go with your dog. I take him there to get his nails did. He hates people touching his feet, but they get it done in about 4 or 5 minutes.

employees are very rude. I used to love taking my dogs here but will never again. I have stickers on my pets vest saying not to pet her because she is anxious. but one employee completely ignored it and approached her and per her anyways. it’s not like they couldn’t see it. it’s big, shiny, and on both sides. then started making uncalled for comments about how it’s because she isn’t trained. (not true at all. she’s been in training since she was 8 months and has come a long way.)

I started buying dog food here over a year ago and I enjoy every time I go. The staff is so kind and helpful and the atmosphere is great. My goldendoodle loves joining me on my trips there. I decided to try out their grooming services for my pup since we had a bad experience elsewhere and they were fantastic! Reasonably priced, so kind and welcoming, my dog wasn’t scared and looks great! I love this place!

Employee's have always been kind when I visit. If you order something they do contract you when it's in. Always willing to see if you need help when you come in. And if you have questions they will find out for you. Over all. It's clean friendly and just nice to shop around vs name brand stores. My only downside. Is they are definitely more pricey. With food toys and supplies. They cost more. And I don't know if I can continue to buy my food here knowing I can get it cheaper elsewhere. Business is business.

I purchased 2 bags of Instinct Raw Chicken Patties for my dog 11/22. I worked the next two days and didn't realize till Thanksgiving that both bags were expired. By this time, I had already finished one bag and the other was unopened. I still expected to get a refund on both bags, but was quickly shot down by the manager stating that one was already empty and she wouldn't refund me that bag. I understand that as the purchaser and owner of my dogs, it is my responsibility to check the expiration date, but it is also the store's responsibility to make sure inventory is properly rotated. The fact was that BOTH bags were expired- One bag expired 11/16/21 and the other 05/2020. The manager said that the empty bag that I fed my dogs only expired a few days ago.The problem was severely downplayed. Dog food is dated years in advance of the expiration. The fact that it was still on the shelf and even one from last year lets me know that they have been sitting on the shelf for awhile unchecked. I'd go as far to assume that most of the Instinct Raw Chicken Patties on the shelf are also expired and only now will they check on the bags. The fact that they only refunded me one bag due to the store's poorly managed inventory is the reason I will not be returning. I have been to other America's Country Store locations and they have good service and products. This location did not meet those expectations.

I had to bring one of my dogs in for grooming back in January, he had run off from a potential adopter and when I got him back was covered in fleas and ticks. The girls in the grooming department were amazing and helped me get him cleaned up and bug free! And not to mention his nails were done so well that I'd actually gotten compliments on how good his nails looked.

I’ve had my fair share of groomers for my dogs. I’ve only ever found one place that was great. Well, this place isn’t great, it’s AMAZING!!! I have a very old dog who is going blind and deaf but otherwise is doing great. He has begun to show early signs of renal failure but nothing some depends can’t help with. He’s just 15 and needs a bit of extra care, that includes meticulous grooming. I need a place for him that listens and shows kindness to the animals and this place was it! They heard what I said about his feet and he left without any clipper burns on his skin! Super nice staff, too!!

Haven’t been pleased with their prices for some time. But, I figured you pay more when you are supporting a local business. And I was fine with that, especially during COVID times. But, this is the 3rd time I’ve gotten here at 8:05 AM or later and the store is closed! There are 8 cars in the parking lot. If you value your time, go elsewhere because they do not. I’m getting my free bag of dog food and never coming back.
