Not just the best burgers in a 2-hr radius but also the best chicken salad!🏆Hole in the Wall Cafe📍206 Carothers Ave, Rochester, TXRating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️We were on our way from Lubbock to Decatur and wanted a halfway lunch stop. We found "Hole in the Wall Cafe" on Google and it was the only restaurant for miles that had close to a 5-🌟 rating. The town of Rochester has a population of 248 people. The restaurant is located in their downtown area with a beautiful mural, Veterans Memorial, a Railroad Museum, and City Hall. We even were personally greeted by the City Manager and her dog, Nuisance. We wrapped up the meal with an amazing pecan cobbler and headed on our way.This small business is surrounded by the most beautiful Texas farm land including the famous @6666ranch just down the road. Be sure to stop in and grab a housemade burger, dessert, and more. Just a little reminder: They only take Cash or Check.Congrats, Hole in the Wall Cafe, for making it to 7 years!

Food was pretty decent. My daughter and I got the Mushroom Swiss burger, which was good...however didn't have much flavor.On a side note...make sure you have cash, check, or venmo because they do not take cards

Oh my goodness the food here was DELICIOUS. I had the Phylli chese sandwich, my mom had a cheese burger. Not realizing our orders came with fries we also ordered a large chili fire to share. Both our meals were delicious. I even enjoyed the left over the next evening. After I warned them up( half chili fries and cheese burger) they were amazing as well. I will definitely order from here again and I highly recommend it. Excellent food and great service. 👍

A great local diner. The place is unique but, service attentive and food is good at a fair price. We had a couple of different chicken fried steaks and their freshly made pork rinds. Looking forward to going back and trying their burgers.

Not sure if the woman taking the orders today is the owner, but she wasn’t very kind today. Wanted to be very short and rude about only accepting cash or check. She then let me know it’s on her website and has been posted on that for 3 years. Mind you I’m from out of town and have only heard of your business through family that lives in Rochester. I never have been to your restaurant before today. I also googled the phone number. When I asked about an ATM she wanted to be short and act put out. I didn’t get the Christ like feel that she puts all over the walls in her restaurant based off how she greeted a visitor from another city. Thought I would support a small business, but I’ll make sure to not go back there especially if the main person taking orders and greeting customers wants to be short and have a bad attitude. Never once did we end up getting a thank you or come back again from the face of your business.

The Jalapeño Popper Burger is the best burger I have ever had! The chicken fried steak is really good, too. Wish they would offer veggies as sides, though.

This is a dynamite cafe right off the beaten path in historic downtown Rockchester. Small cozy atmosphere, fabulous home cooked food in the area and a wonderfully accommodating and charismatic service. Thank very much for the fabulous jalapeno chicken fried steak and memories. Love this place and would have gotten 5 stars however, drove 50 miles to find out they were closed. It was 7:30 pm and it says they close at 9. Even checked website before driving and said they were open!!! Ugh, very frustrating.

I love to eat there their burgers are great every time I order the food is always hot I love to go to the hole in the wall
