Been years since we visited. I recommend making reservations as they can be crowded (especially on weekends). Food selection was nice and the service from Lindsey was excellent. We had the club with sweet potato tots and their equivalent of the French Dip with onion rings. All (except the tots) were excellent...the tots were OK as they they were a bit soggy and warm...not crisp and hot. The old store is also fun to walk through.Parking is plentiful, they do not give a mil discount.

We had an excellent experience at the Camp Verde Restaurant and General Store!! I have eaten lunch there with some girlfriends, but today I took the hubby for breakfast!! He had their Huevos Rancheros and I had their French toast. Delicious 😋. Their store also has a wonderful historical value to our area!! Make sure to add this to your places to visit when in the Texas Hill Country!!

From the hostess to the manager the hospitality of Camp Verde is phenomenal!My children and I enjoyed a lovely lunch here. I ordered the taco salad , chips and queso while my children enjoyed the gluten free cheeseburgers. They have a wonderful selection of foods, desserts and café drinks. They even have specialty items for those looking for vegetarian or gluten free options.The scenery of the hill country outside to the beautifully designed architecture and decor inside is unmatched and stunning.Camp Verde is a beautiful vacation restaurant I love to visit when I come here to visit my In-laws and I highly recommend this place.The waitress was more than kind and attentive as well as the manager who helped me out to my vehicle as well which was very thoughtful.This place is usually busy and we know it’s because of their character and scrumptious delectables.Thank you Camp Verde for a beautiful Sunday lunch!

Texas Classic Burger and Fries is awesome! I had it a couple times and both times were really good and consistent. I haven't dined in yet but hopefully one day we will see what that is like. Jesus Loves You!❤️✝️🔥

Service was great. All of the staff was super friendly. Dining room was clean and classy. No wait for breakfast on a Thursday morning. The food was less than perfect. Hashbrowns were the frozen kind, just chopped into smaller pieces. Bacon tasted off, not sure what it was. Other than that, everything else was good. Fruit tasted fresh, French toast was delicious and coffee was great. Would recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

This was my second visit this time for breakfast on a Tuesday morning while on vacation in Kerrville. Husband and I had the place to ourselves and breakfast did not disappoint. French toast and breakfast croissant were delicious. Service was excellent and the spider web on my vanilla cappuccino was a nice touch given our visit in October. Enjoyed browsing and shopping at the general store.

Good but not as GOOD as it used to be. $45 for a burger, “colossal” chicken and fried pickles. Price is a Brandon thing though it hurts, at least the chicken can be bigger in flavor than carnival level.

Beautiful place. I only went into the store and did not eat there. The store is beautiful ❤️ the outdoors was lovely. The chimes, fireplace , water fall and bathrooms were super clean . The nice soap and hand lotion after washing your hands.. lovely place.

We had an amazing experience here. Two cool points - (Ladies- they have purse stands) the second is all the beautiful history and architecture of the building. The food was great and the staff all seem sweet and nice. You also get the coolest to go cups which make a great souvenir. We had the Texas BBQ Burger and the Camp Verde Club which were both delicious. Loved the Watermelon Rind BBQ sauce. We shared the apple basket which was good and I loved the Chocolate Camel on top. The Manager Sunny was such a doll. She was so nice and told us about all the upcoming events. We definitely will be back.

The day was so beautiful that we chose to be seated on the patio. Patty was our server. She is so sweet. She was very busy because she had a large group inside. Regardless she brought us huge disposable cups of tea and took our orders promptly. I chose the chicken fried chicken with Brussel sprouts and fried okra. The chicken was marvelous. The crust was tasty and crunchy. The chicken was the best. I'm sure it is soaked in buttermilk or some marinade. It was so soft and moist. The okra was nothing special. The Brussel sprouts were awesome with those crispy roast edges. Hubby had the Reuben sandwich with gigantic onion rings. Everything was delicious from his plate. We took home half our lunches and a slice of coconut cream pie. Yummy, yummy. We will definitely be back.

We absolutely love the restaurant! The food and atmosphere is awesome, especially their onion rings!!! We had Mary as our server during our last visit and she really took care of us while we enjoyed her wonderful personality.

We've frequently enjoyed going to the Camp Verde store and restaurant for over 20 years, until recently. The restaurant used to be our favorite place to dine but recent management decisions have the restaurant headed in the wrong direction. The quality of food seems to be consistent but food is now served on paper to-go cartons and cups (regardless of whether you dine in or out). The wait staff is not allowed to serve you table side. This has certainly degraded the quality dining experience we once enjoyed. If it's the shortage of staff that's causing this then the allowable seating can be reduced or reservations can be required or something other than reducing the dining in experience to a "McDonalds take out" level. A quality dining experience not only involves quality food but a quality manner in which it is served. If this is not improved by current management then the restaurant will experience greater periods of what the attached picture depicts. The classy setting of the restaurant and the quality food deserve much better treatment than the "paper service" the current management is providing. The wait staff used to be top notch and very personable (and still are but not allowed to be due to the current business model); we enjoyed visiting with all of them - it was part of the experience we really enjoyed. However, we feel the current conditions have them "downtrodden" and not allowed to provide the service they desire. We suspect that many of them have creative ideas to deal with the reduced staffing level while not losing the great dining experience they used to be known for. It's our hope that the current management choses to restore the restaurant to its former superb dining experience rather than continue "the dining in on take out cartons / cups" experience currently in place.

Every time we travel through Bandera, we stop at Camp Verde. Always eat lunch, which is delicious. Super clean restrooms.I have bought a lot of nice things in the gift shop. Great rest stop when traveling.

Drove 71 miles on a Sunday for a scenic drive and good food. We were not disappointed. Hill country setting made for a nice ambiance. Food was great, must try the meatloaf! Very reasonable prices. MAKE Reservations! Limited seating due to Covid 19.

So I haven't been out here in a couple of years and decided with my sister that we needed to get the heck out of town for a day and decided to drive to Camp Verde. We made reservations for lunch that morning, and after a nice, peace drive, landed at the general store. It's a typical Texas general store with lots of really cute things and I probably overspent but they had such a great sale going on that I was able to get all kinds of unique Texan Knick knacks for my out of state friends.The restaurant is even better than I remembered. I had the Arthur special which was out of this world and yes… they are sandwiches… but unique and the flavors and freshness will get you after being out and about and you will love it. My sister had a roast beef sandwich with some hotsy sauce and we had to give in and have the coconut cream pie with the little chocolate camel on top because… well… it's not something I make myself and they make the pies fresh on site so they can't be beat. Our waitress Lisa was super sweet and friendly and we're going to have to make that trip a few more times this year.

I didn't get a chance to try the restaurant, but the general store was quite nice. They have a variety of things from homemade jams, sauces, spices, household items, scents, and clothing. I got two jams, blueberry and bacon bourbon jam. I recommend stopping here just to look around and meet some nice people. Here's a photo of my cat on the second floor of the store.

My husband and I stopped here for breakfast on our way out from Bandera to Houston, to end a wonderful 30th birthday getaway. Breakfast was very good and affordable (5 stars). I’m disappointed with my shopping experience, as I was followed throughout the store and questioned when simply browsing. I selected a handful of items and spent under $70, and did not expect such behavior for this type of stop. My husband went to the restroom, and when looking for me the shop keepers stated: “Oh! Bridgette, she’s upstairs.” It felt odd to have to give them my name, have them keep my items at the register, and keep track of my every move when I was the only person shopping. I did have my ID checked when checking out (fine, I guess the tourists moving through really have played this place over) but this experience put a bad taste in my mouth.
