If I could give this place a zero rating I would. I walked in today 2/10/24 and the first thing that hits you in the face is the disgusting smell.. it smells like a sewer. Then as you continue in you get to see a lot of adult fish in extremely small tanks, some of them are so small the fish are just stuck to not being able to move about & overcrowding. They had some fish that were touching mouth to tail and they even had over 6 Large discus’s in one small sized tank. Discus like most fish are supposed to be kept in clean water conditions but the tank they were in were extremely dirty. A lot of tanks were covered in Algae & fish feces. The poor fish are kept in horrible conditions and not to mention the fish are WAY overpriced. $300 for one discus fish, $60 for one angel fish, some fish were over 1,000. Baby Gars were way over 1,000 as well. The place looked & def smelled dirty & the pictures are just a few of the many bad conditions of these fish. This place needs to be shut down immediately.Edit: To your response from my review you definitely do NOT do regular water changes on these tanks the pictures alone speak for themselves, algae doesn’t happen overnight & one of the common causes of it is not doing frequent water changes & can cause that nasty smell. It’s the lack of care y’all give that’s sad that y’all are even still open. So where you get off saying you charge a lot of money based off the care & upkeep you provide is baffling. Next “routine water changes” do NOT smell like a sewer, coming from an experienced fish keeper. Also you walk into other fish stores & never smell this horrible during water changes. I’m not the first one to comment on the smell of your establishment & poor conditions of these fish in the reviews & someone else also agreed about having this place shut down immediately because of the lack of care that goes into these beautiful fish. Leaving a long response about how you have “good reviews” and “routine maintenance” doesn’t change anything from what we saw in person & pictures/videos speak for themselves. Instead of taking the time do leave paragraphs, use your time wisely & properly clean these tanks & give these fish bigger tanks to live in as your promoting their sell or don’t own a fish store.You even had a tank that was low on the water level for some fish, how do you miss that if you do routine maintenance?

Alright! Alright! Finally found a place to have some exotic fish in my tank. I really like the decor at the front when I walked in. All the fish looked very healthy and well taken care of. I asked one of the sales guy for a specific exotic fish I wanted, after two and half week later I was able to pick it up. I highly recommend this place if your an aquarist like me.

This place has an incredible selection of unique and healthy fish. They also offer HUGE fish at an very affordable price. I loved watching the Mudskippers and Puffers. They had a ton of Arowanas and Eels ranging in all sizes and prices. This place is a hidden gem for awesome fish.

“Your Pet Fish” is relatively new store, specializing in the freshwater arena. It’s a beautiful place, worth the drive just to see their 2-foot long freshwater moray eel. Plus they have a great selection of exotic freshwaters. As well, the owners/staff are friendly and personable. Don’t miss the turn-in though or you will get to make a few U-turns to get back!! In town for business, decided to choose one local fish store to visit. Looked through a few Google searches to find a fish store that might actually have a nice/ uncommon selection. Walked in the front door and immediately dropped my jaw.. the largest bichirs I've ever seen in my life! I am a huge bichir fan and never have I been so blown away with the bichir selection. 5 stars for that reason alone. The man who worked there also down to earth and knew his fish which was a pleasant surprise. Keep up the good work! 👍

Right when you walk in, it smells like musty fish. There was water leaking all over the floor. Most of the lights weren't even on. All the tanks have a disgusting amount of algae and mulm. Dead fish everywhere, including a diseased betta fish (see photos). I guess it was better three months ago. This place should not be open anymore.

Excellent store and people. They have so many exotic freshwater fish and the gentleman running the store is not only knowledgeable but super friendly and has helped me a ton. Couldn’t recommend a better shop.

A perfect place to buy your pet fish. They offer variety of fishes at a very reasonable price. I bought 20 koi fishes for my backyard pond. Very colorful and healthy fishes.

I just stopped in to this store for the first time today, and I'm so happy I did. I mostly keep Bettas and their stock seemed really healthy and were in big cups with a lil plant.They had a great selection of plants that I hadn't seen anywhere else and I'm really excited to add some new varieties to my tank.Will definitely be back for more plants in the future!

The store itself was ok, but the quality of fish and how they are kept is excellent. All the aquariums are clean and tidy, I did not see a single dead or sick fish. They want a pretty penny for their fish, but that seems to be common in this area. Overall I had a good experience and will return.

Tough to find.. northwest corner of Beltline and Marsh.. the fish are pretty exotic varieties, so if you're looking for something outside of typical freshwaters, this is your place. Small but nicely set up. A bit pricey, but again 90% of what's in here is NOT your everyday tropical fish. Yes, its a bit humid in there, but it didn't smell bad. All fish were in excellent condition.

This place is really starting to shine after a delayed start. The employees are very personable and ready to help you. Their prices are great and they are very neat in that they primarily deal with wild caught fish. Some really rare stuff to see here and they can help you find what you don't have much easier than most local fish stores. Keep up the great work and building on the new store guys!

HANDS DOWN the best stock, staff, and pricing in DFW! Their monster fish are BEAUTIFUL and extremely healthy, staff are very knowledgeable (the manager is amazing!), fish are cared for and healthy and practically full-grown, their prices are genuinely fair and reasonable, overall easily the best fish store in the city! Didn't know about this place until finding it by accident, but will now be coming to them for EVERYTHING for my tank going forward!!

Was there yesterday 8/26/22 & was extremely impressed on the selection this store had not only do they have more exotic fish than most stores! But also the quality of the fish and tanks well maintained along side with good prices!!. Spent $120 on fish I've been looking for , for the longest that no other store could get for x reason and this location had it all!! Thanks for keeping the hobby alive and also for the friendly staff & having plenty of knowledge.

I visited this store for the first time over the weekend. The positive - they had a FANTASTIC selection of nice healthy plants and lots of unique fish (though heavier on the cichlid types and larger fish than the freshwater community fish) that also appeared to be in good condition. The negative - customer service. Between my friend and I, we asked 2 or 3 different employees (all of who approached us to ask if we needed help - we didn't interrupt them working with other customers) for prices on the plants. Each of them said "let me go check" and never returned. I would completely understand if they were busy with other customers, but all of the employees were standing at the front chit-chatting and watching the store when we finally walked out frustrated a while later. The reviews seem to indicate that maybe we didn't catch them on their best day or something, but I can't say I'll go out of my way to return. There are too many other stores in the area that will help me spend my money.

Your Pet Fish is an absolute showcase of freshwater and saltwater species in one of the cleanest, well taken care of set ups around. The employee is a very knowledgeable and personable person who always goes out of his way to help and provide the best possible customer experience. Your Pet Fish is my fish store of choice whether it’s a basic freshwater setup or a high end custom display.

I visited the store to check the fish and to my surprise they had awesome collection of exotic fish that I saw for the first time and the Store is well organized and the staff were friendly and willing to share information in regards to the fish and the care that is needed . Planning to get my kids next time as it’s an awesome experience even to stroll around and pick from the great variety they have.
