My dog was due for his annual vaccine appointment and we recently tried Palo Duro Animal Hospital. From the moment I walked in I knew this place was perfect for us. My experience booking the appointment and creating my new client profile with their CSRs was fabulous and stress free. My technician today, Cameron, was such a gentlemen and really got to know me and my pet. He kept me updated on wait times, answered all my questions and was such a joy to work with. Dr. Ballinger was also incredible. He made me and my dog feel comfortable the whole time, took the time to explain everything thoroughly and chat with me. He was very professional and completely transparent with me the whole time. I live in Amarillo but the small extra drive to Canyon was 10000% worth it for this lovely and quality care. I’ve only gone for a preventative appointment but I recommend this clinic to anyone looking for a reasonably priced, stress free and welcoming place to bring their pet!

They took very good care of our cat, the price was fair, but they were a little weird about refusing to discuss the price difference of different care options they gave us over the phone even after they already had our cat. All in all I trust this facility with my pet but they need to be more open about their prices.

Dr Ballinger and Dr Amy are excellent vets. The Vet techs are very kind and knowledgable and always helpful. I think this is the best clinic in the Texas Panhandle. Dr Ballinger is amazing. He saved my dog one time who was extremely critical for 3 days he transported back and forth from the hospital in Amarillo and back to Canyon on the days he worked up there. Doesn’t get any better than these people.

I called Palo Duro in an emergency, having never been a patient here, and they told me to come right in. They were waiting on me at the door to take my pet. By the next morning my pet had had surgery, and I was able to bring him home the next day. Everyone I had dealings with was great. We will return in the future for all our vet needs.

My dog was constantly vomiting, our normal vet wrote her off, but I knew something was wrong. The vet here was quickly able to determine she had parasites. They quickly got a game plan together and explained her care to me in words I understood. They were so incredible with her. From the moment we walked the receptionist to the vet, and everyone in between were incredible. I can’t recommend them enough.

One of our Siberian Huskies almost tore one of his dew claws off at the dog park. We called and I explained we were passing through town.Even though they were extremely busy, they worked us in and took care of our boy. The staff was amazing.From the phone staff, the young lady that came to pick up Tucker and bring him back to the truck and incredible doctor that called us while we waited in the truck.... everyone was incredible!If we lived in the area this would be our primary care for all of our animals!

My baby boy went with my boyfriend to Palo Duro for a bike race, sadly peanut was under the weather and had to see a vet.From Dallas i googled vets near Palo duro and saw this clinic got good reviews, so directed them hereThey were seen very quick, it was very fairly priced and the vet was super good and efficient and put my boyfriend's mind at ease.Thank you so much for helping my boys!!

The staff and doctors at Palo Duro Animal Hospital were absolutely fantastic. I am new to the area and my cat (Ambrose) had a urinary blockage that required transfer of care from the ER. Dr. Kirkland and Dr. Smith were extremely kind, informative, and thorough. They kept Ambrose until he was well enough to come home, gave me daily updates, and allowed me to visit with him daily. They also sent us home with an Rx for continued care and the staff called to follow up after the weekend. Not only was the level of care amazing but the price was also so reasonable. I am so happy with the care that Ambrose recieved!

We visited this location on two different occasions in the last 15 mo. for our 6-year-old Chihuahua KC.Dr. Kirkland ,DVM, and her staff are very good at communicating, explaining the reassuring and care of our KC.
