Workers are always out smoking a cigarette. When I show up they hurry up and go in in front of me leaving a trail of smoke smell for me to walk in. Been dealing with it for a while now but enough is enough. The place looks raggedy because no ones working, just smoking every chance they get. No more DG Caldwell for me.

Feels like this DG has been around for ages. I've always liked it.I've noticed the staff here have upped their game lately. Few DG locations are staffed well and even fewer are clean and have uncluttered aisles. The Caldwell DG hasn't had much clutter in a long time (with the exception of some random stocking, which always clears up quickly) and I've seen quite a few new faces at the cash registers. Check-out can still take a while if a line forms, but I've also noticed that many people ignore the card-only self-checkout while in line. It's easy, takes your number/app/coupons, and works just the same.I also love their Pokemon selection here. They keep them behind the counter since theft became an issue for them a while back with the Pokemon TCG. They tend to have a pretty full selection of new (and sometimes older) cards as well as some tins every now and then. Coupons that make a $25 Pokemon run only $20 or so always win in my book. Hangers are only $4 each, which is hard to beat. As far as I know, they're the only place in Caldwell that consistently has basic Pokemon hangers in stock. Walmart is always hit or miss with these and usually stocks the hangers that are more expensive with a promo and a coin.

Me and my family just moved to caldwell about two months ago and we like the school for our children everything is going great but the dollar general store have the racial people working there...I will call corporate today.....

As I was walking threw the store, I was at peace snd calmness . Once done shopping I noticed that this place has self-check outs which accepts no cash. Which was fine. I spoke out loud that this store is doing better than Walmart in this town do to the fact of that alone. So 4 stars I give.

I went to the store and around 3:12pm and the line was long their employee an old white lady was holing the line up she was off shift but talking to the employee cashier. Customers were getting upset with this old woman holding up the line. She was skinny very old glasses about 5'3" Caucasian female around mid 60's or70's . Corporate office need to know about this issue customer's were being treated or help in a professional manner that employee needs to be fires.corporat

I like the store, the staff. Everyone is helpful. Prices are reasonable. However the driveway is so bad that my car bottoms out. I would definately go to this store a lot more often. That's the only reason I gave 3 stars instead of 5 stars.

This Store used to be top notch. My last couple of stops here where basically the same. Items were blocking the isles, stock was haphazardly put on the shelves and in many cases not in the correct area. Stock was low or out. General appearance of the Store was dirty. Hopefully next time it will be better.

It is Sunday 4 p.m.as usual we go into the store & the OLD lady BEHIND the counter runs off as if we wasn't even at the register, then we call our for her & she says I be right there 5 minutes later she proceeded to register THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE & RIDICULOUS CIME ON CORPORATE OFFICES GET IT TOGETHER HIRE GOOD PPL WHO CARE FOR THE CUSTOMERS. I WIBE CALLING CORPORATE TILL THIS ISSUE IS RESOLVED PLUS SHE DIDN'T HAVE A NAME TAG ON

The store never clean. Has boxes all over the store. You have to wait for the cashier I don’t know where she at. Not friendly staff. They need to clean this store up. Get employees that willing to work and not be lazy. Horrible store.

I went to the dollar general 1/2/19 and the sign said closed at 9 and so does the online page and I got there at 8:24 the doors were locked!!!! No sign saying they would close early nothing!!! Called the store still nothing!!!!

Last time I was in there two employees were near the cash register. Went to pay for items & both employees just stared & kept doing what they were doing. So I left.
