Every time we go by there, it’s monthly. Smells clean , is clean, they are very friendly and polite. They love what they do and it shows on every face I see. Spectacular people. Animals are treated with love and kindness.

Facility does not inform the public about being a kill shelter and does display the time a dog has left before they are being euthanized. My significant other and I went into this shelter and found 2 dogs we were really considering. We called the next day about the dogs with questions about their health but were unable to get answers due to the clinic being closed so we left a voice-mail. When we called Tuesday when the clinic was open we were informed that the dogs have been euthanized and were not given aa reason why. The dogs had only been there for no longer than a month and were sweet dogs. There was no reason to have done this and we're very disappointed that they chose to run this center in such a manner. Please know before going to this center that this shelter is a kill shelter, I wish we had known this before visiting.

I was there on Clear The Shelter adoption day. There were volunteers who were helpful through every part of the process which made me feel valued and appreciated. This dog has been adopted!

We now have the best four legged baby boy Corinne had at her place that replaces the baby boy we just lost to cancer.Couldn’t have found Max (Otto) by myself, God had me drive the 186 miles northwest to see a different pup but found Max instead. We love our Max

Horrible experience. Adopted puppy but seemed lethargic when picked up. Took to vet next morning and he has parvo. Called them they said no refunds on adoption fees and no assistance with $350 vet bill only that he could be returned. Actions are not those of a good organization.

Everyone at the facility was very kind. Helpful in setting up for paws program. Just didn't work out with the dog we were interested in. She was just a tad bit to aggressive for our family. But over all the staff were very helpful in helping us make a overall decision.

They do their best to help the community with strays, etc. Although there are always more strays than room available. PLEASE SUPPORT, whenever you can with supplies, donations, etc.

Went in to adopt a kitten. Their website on petfinder shows to have kittens available and there was a news report saying they had way too many dogs, cats, and kittens desperately needing adopting and fostering. So we came the next day and lady at desk said they had nothing. Nothing that was available for adoption and no word on any that would come up eligible to adopt. Gave off a vibe of "why are you even here". Didn't seem they were over run with pets needing adoption. 🤔

In a year this facility has same up in the care for the animals and the smell and upkeep. It's had a successful run at a no kill, with very few being put down do to the safety of people or other animals. The staff seems to work well and uniformed and dedication to helping the animals in their need for med. Attn. To cleaning or just one on one time.i believe it helps with the adjustment as well as a permanent home. So a pat on the back and a keep up the awesome job guys. The down side is it needs more funds for better matnaince of pens and a couple more employees with handyman skills and a on site or drop in vet be great. This is why I gave 4 instead of 5 .always room for improvement. Do open your heart and home and drop in and adopt a feline or canine. Add pics later psyco on the corner of Miriam near park and pool .volunteer welcomed.

We adopted a dog for the shelter hoping for a family dog. 10 day later she tore up our new carpet and her kennel we called and they told us we would have to wait till they could make room for her. And still hadn’t heard back in 5 day so we came up to the shelter to have the As we get there we are told me can not have a refund to pay for the damage the of our apartment.

After researching and visiting several shelters between Brown and Taylor counties, my son an I adopted a young dog from this facility. The Corinne T Smith facility is an excellent facility literally by any standard. It is clean, well organized, staffed by intelligent and compassionate people who clearly demonstrate the care they have for these animals. They know each animal, and they spent far more time with us than I ever expected. They were and continue to be helpful beyond my expectations. There are many wonderful and healthy animals here. I also learned that the fees involved are well worth the confidence of taking home a healthy and suitable animal - an assurance one does not have at other places.Lastly, and forgive me, any one complaining about the fees or the hours simply does not understand the resources required to run a shelter, or how difficult it is to keep a group of animals healthy, or the time and work required to keep such a facility sanitary. Advice to anyone who has complaints in this regard - go volunteer here, put in some time, and see for yourself.

Awful business. The hours are totally different than what they have listed and when they're actually open the hours are horrible. How can you be a proper shelter if you only take in animals between certain hours every day? The staff (minus a few nice ladies) seem upity and rude with little sense of care for the animals or the prospective adopters. We were literally told we couldn't play with a cat that we were thinking about adopting. A bunch of the animals seemed incredibly skinny for being in a shelter, as well. Honestly, someone should start another shelter in this area so that animals have a better place to await their forever homes.

This is not fun. Someone sent my cats to the pound, and the shelter refused to give my pets back. The 2 pets i got back were ill, and had diarrhea. 0/10

These people are the sweetest people you could ever meet. They help in anyway they can help. If I could volunteer I would because they are in need of help or donations. They help people that can't afford food for their pets whenever they can, but they can only do so much.

Great job cleaning up. Difference between night and day from a few years ago. If anyone has sheets, blankets or pillowcases that they don't want, drop them off at the shelter. 🙏🙏🙏

Horrible hours and workers seem unable to care less about the animals or what's convenient to the people dropping off animals. Make it very easy for everyone that comes in at "the wrong time" to just abandon the animals. Don't understand how this place stays open with such terrible management and environment.

I don't think people realize that the shelter hours are a necessary inconvenience. They can only be open in the afternoons so that they can spend the mornings cleaning pens, scooping litter boxes, feeding, watering, walking, medicating and doing all the things that must be done while the public isn't there. Dropped off animals must go thru an intake process....they aren't just dropped in a cage and automatically ready to go. That takes time. The staff isn't there 24/7...that would be great, but they are not a city facility, they are a 501c3 non profit so they can't afford 24 hour staff. To the folks criticizing....go volunteer your time to help make it a better shelter. Non profits NEED volunteers!

This place is shady, charged me 10$ for the rabies shot but didn't give my dog the shot. Said they "trust that he is up to date but will be charging the 10$ shot unless proof is presented."

CTSAC does so much incredible work for our local animal population! Everyone involved is incredibly dedicated to the cause. They could ALWAYS use more volunteers and community involvement *hint hint* 😉

Don't dare save a dog from the hiway. If you do and try to take it to the shelter they'll deny it as an owner surrender. Just let it get run over.

The best place I've found the hours are fine I brought in cats that someone threw away the facility took them cause I didn't way them to die and couldn't afford to feed 5 kittens I bottle fed them to save them...I gave them to a place that wants to save them also..God bless all you good people at Smith rescue. ...

Great folks who really care about the animals. $20 for microchipping with a year of service. Can't beat that. I brought my rescue for his chip and will be back with my older dog to get his done too!

Adopt! This center is very helpful with getting spade and neuter discounts for local vets. They also give free identity tags for any of your pets.
