We got this pork variety box just to try out a few different cuts and let me tell you it was well worth the money! Great options, tons of fatty flavorful goodness and my wife made the BEST pork spare ribs I’ve ever eaten in my life! You won’t regret going and trying out the local dry aged beef options at Rail 19!

UNENDING EXCUSES FOR BAD MANAGEMENT. If I could give zero stars I would. I had a billy goat processed by Rail 19 recently and was appalled at the way the place is managed (we initially had 2 billies scheduled but one had taken ill and per TX state law couldn't be processed until he recovered). I dropped him off on a Saturday (day 1). I had requested the horns (for my dogs) as part of the order and was told they would go bad really fast; I was advised that I should pick them up by the following Tuesday (day 4) at the latest. When I went to pick them up on Tuesday (day 4)I was told they were not ready. I was given the excuse that several employees had had quit over the weekend and that the horns weren't ready (which points to a significant issue from a management/personnel standpoint!!!). They apologized and told me that I "should have been called" and was then assured that my meat would be ready by that Saturday (day 8) as scheduled and the horns could be picked up then as well. I called first thing that Saturday (day 8) to confirm pickup before making the drive. The first time nobody answered. The second time the person who answered was incredibly rude and told me they "didn't know" before hanging up. The third time I called I was told they would "check and call me back".... and I had to call back 3 hours later. They tried to tell me they would "check and call me back" again but I pushed back. I was eventually told my meat was NOT ready and that it would be ready until the next week on Monday (day 10). I was told that I "should have been called" before it got to that point. We went through the same call process (3 calls, no callback, etc) on Monday (day 10) before I was finally told it would be ready on Wednesday (day 12). Again, I was told that that I "should have been called" before it got to that point. I called first thing that Wednesday (day 12) and went through the SAME routine (3 calls, no callback, etc) before I was informed that my meat was, in fact, ready to be picked up... and I was told that I "should have been called." However when I got there, they informed me that the organs had not been packaged with the rest of my order and would have to be picked up the following week on Monday (day 17). I asked if I could just take the organs since they were for my chickens and dogs but they told me that they were required to package them by law. On the following Monday (day 17) I went through the same call ritual once again (3 calls, no callback, etc) before the manager informed me that the organs had gone bad before they could be packaged on the previous Wednesday night and that I "should have been called" before it got to that point (this, of course, means they were ALREADY bad when I had picked up the rest of the meat on day 12 before and they LIED to me). The owner did give me the "same weight" (although at this point I am not sure I actually trust that it was the same weight) in beef organs gratis but that doesn't make for ALL the screw-ups along the way. Clearly there are significant systemic issues resulting from poor management and inadequate processes. 17 days with repeated screw-ups and cover-ups is beyond unacceptable. The organization side of this place is clearly in need of an overhaul. We will NOT be returning to Rail 19 for the second billy (who has recovered) or for any of my future meat processing needs.

I would rate a 0 if I could I brought in a steer with. 628lb hanging weight and left with less than 300 lbs of meat. All of my organs, ribs, and a tri tip were missing. They promise to make it right and never do. Stay away if you want to get all of your meat back!

Rail 19 did an awesome job in processing the Grand Champion Steer we bought at the Hopkins County Junior Live Stock Show 2018!The team at Rail 19 guided us through the best process for the best quality of meat. We aged the meat and everything turned out well.Thank you!

Excellent service! We traveled an hour to get a couple racks of dino ribs but there weren't any, after explaining what we needed the lady at the counter went to the back and had the Butcher cut us some straight off the hanging rails! We ended up leaving with about 50lbs of beef, goat, sausage, and even some delicious jerky. Rail 19 got us as a customer as long as they're in business.

A calf was processed there. The meat has a weird flavor but we ate it anyway. Every bag of hamburger meat we cooked had some bone pieces in it. So my daughter called them about it. Whoever she spoke to said to bring 10 bags of hamburger meat up there so they can go thru them. I called to discuss whether she would get 10 bags in return or be credited for the 10 bags lost. The manager told me they’ve never had bones in there hamburger meat and that they’d go thru them. I said yes but you aren’t answering my question. Will she be reimbursed in some way for the bags you open and go thru. She said IF there were bones in what they opened yes but if they didn’t find any then no.So drive an hour away with the 10 bags so they can open them up and maybe they find some but left with possibly say they don’t so they don’t have to replace. Not happy at all. I don’t mind them opening up 1 or 100 bags but they should get some kind of product or credit in return for what they destroy going thru itWon’t use them again

The quality of meat you get at this place is unreal. The staff is friendly and answered all my questions. Hands down this is an excellent place to source your beef or pork.

Great meat just wish they had more selection sometimes. Have to get there right when it's butchered or shortly after to get selection.

Horrible service call a week after dropping of my pigs and was told they don't have hanging weight for my pigs because they were still alive was told they would be ready in 2 weeks took 4 weeks to get the call they were ready and didn't receive the cut we requested and was charged for asked about it and was told they gave me all of my meat. Was also told Katie would call me it's been about 3 weeks and still haven't received a call. They are very rude on the phone have no intentions on resolving the issue i now know how they stock the store... with other people's animals...

Extremely knowledgeable about their meats. They are so delicious, every cut we’ve chosen!!Thank you for taking such good care of your customers!! It’s a rare QUALITY but much appreciated!!

I have taken 3 cows over 18mo period. All 3 came back missing items from my order. The last time I had proof as I was given someone else's organs with their label. They told me it's a wishlist, no guarantee I get back what I asked for.

One of our favorite places to buy beef and Heritage pork. The girls have always been so helpful with getting our meat processed in the best manner for our family! Thanks for keeping our freezer full!

Everything is frozen! Didn’t plan on driving 20 minutes to a butcher market for frozen meat at butcher prices but I wasn’t gonna leave empty handed though. Good choice of meat it, all looks good. They have so many good and cool looking things I’ve never even seen in a market before. I went for a brisket and opted out because they were kinda small and extremely trimmed.

This is the best meat processing facility I've ever been too. Worth the 5 hr drive to get our meat processed. They went above and beyond for us. The prices are great! We couldn't have been more happy with our experience.

Fifth year using them to slaughter my steers and I have never been less than thrilled with them! From their humane treatment of the animals, the 10-day hang time to the pick up process, I’m very happy and will be back again next spring.

Used to be a pretty good place, but has gone down hill. Will confront you online if you post a negative review and then pressure you to erase it.They are also well know to bully anyone that has anything negative to say. Also multiple employees are frequent flyers of the “county “ overnight stay facility.

Very clean comfortable facility, top notch staff both front and back. I put a lot of care in humanely raising my animals, I felt very comfortable leaving them here. The animals were treated with respect, sepperated into stalls and kept calm with an endless supply of fresh water. The girl in the front was not only knowledgeable and helpful to me at the counter, but especially helpful to my first time customers who she helped to complete their cut sheets by phone. I just got the first of multiple orders back, everything looked great, clearly identified and packaged with care. I have used multiple processors over the past few years, but Rail 19 has earned a customer for life. Keep up the great work!

I custom feed steers for people . I have used every slaughter house within a hundred mile radius of me and have found rail 19 to be the very best . I highly recommend this facility. In the future this will be the only place I will take beef to be processed.Definitely give the 5 stars for satisfaction.

We processed several cattle this year at Rail 19. My daughter has her own beef label Rail 19 helped her set up. They explained everything from costs to time frames before the first beef came in. They answered every question we had and continue to do so every time any situation arises. They have been more than accommodating with each and every request or inquiry weve had . I have only dealt with them on a professional level, but I feel like they treat us like we have known them forever. I trust and believe in Rail 19 and hope to continue using them for years. They are an amazing young family and are doing their best to run an honest business.

Took an 1100 + lbs steer to Rail 19.. as they came recommend from a friend. Anyway.. took my home grown 1100+ lbs steer to them for processing. Got a call that my meat was ready and we had 520 lbs out of him... okay then she begins to explain that was hanging weight .. wait 1 minute here so we ended up with less than 300 lbs of meat bring home. Over the phone she tells me that it would not benefit them to short my hanging weight, ummm yes y'all sell meat so it would benefit you. So I go to pick up my 7 small boxes of meat and she then weighs all boxes that came out to less than 300 lbs. I also asked what live weight was and they tell me the live scale was broken.. how convenient.. Out of all this I got 2 very small brisket, looks like it was 1 they cut in half to make 2, and 140 lbs of ground beef. I have to say next time I will wait for those that are booked and not come home with half the beef I fed to feed my family.

We own a small cattle operation in the area and I was looking for a local processor to handle approx 6 steers annually. I spoke with the owner a couple times and liked what I saw so I decided to give them a try. Big Mistake! I delivered a 996 pound steer and received 259.6 pounds of beef back. I spoke with the owner and she was quick to throw some numbers back over the phone, however the numbers she was throwing where not adding up. I brought this to her attention and she paused, said I'll get back with you and we never heard from her again.I spoke with some of the more experienced ranchers to see if I'm incorrect and even went to another processor and gave them the cut sheet Rail 19 used and they all agreed the numbers do not add up. One of the feed store employees suggested I look at their reviews on Google; I made a big costly mistake, if i'd simply done a little more home work I would have seen there previous complaints and went somewhere else. I felt embarrassed as the other processor said I got "Railed" and reminded me they sell beef at their facility, but do not raise cattle. Makes you wonder where the missing beef went.

I'm new to ranching and trying to get everything organized before taking my first batch. I just wanted to thank Kristen and Rail 19 for answering all my questions and for understanding a the new rancher's concerns. Explained well and with great customer service. Prices seemed fair and affordable.I will be scheduling my 1st batch with Rail 19.

Will not ever use this place again! Took a heifer that had broke leg but still was able to get around, but the guy in the back refused her. Thought they would have been better than the first time we used them when they first opened, NOT!! Never again!

Last week we processed our second finisher. We put an enormous time in our cattle, making sure they are healthy and happy; we take our finishing process very seriously trying to produce the best beef possible. We do not use steroids or any other growth enhancers and buy only natural feed from the cooperative which can get expensive.Law requires any beef being sold to be processed by a licensed facility which presents another challenge finding a processor who services the little guy. For this finisher I chose a local processor in Brasher Texas. Rail 19 has been in business a couple years, they are family operated and after visiting there facility I decided to give them a try. They process wild game and sell there own beef as well.My choice was a huge mistake, we turned in a steer weighing in at 996 pounds (their scale) and received 259.6 pounds of beef in return. As a quick estimate I use 40% to get a ball park on my beef return which should have been closer to 399 pounds. My total brisket weight was 9.9 pounds, which is unacceptable. After speaking with several ranchers and another processing facility, I discovered this issue with Rail 19 is known. Comments like “you got Railed” and “did you wonder where they get there beef”? were common. As a beef producer the missing beef comes out to be about a $1115.00 loss for us which is unacceptable.Rail 19 was a big mistake and I hope you do not make the same mistake.Thank you,

I love Rail 19!! I have been working there for over a year, I buy all my meat from Rail 19 and I have had an animal processed there as well. They are honest people, hardworking and experienced! They raise their own beef cattle and purchase quality finished beef from local farmers. They are a true blessing to this community!

I'll never use anyone else. They allow me to choose how I want my beef processed. R-19 just processed a 1400lb steer for me with a hanging weight of just under 800lb. Spot on! Great service! Neighborly staff. This was our 2nd steer because the first was handled perfectly.

Rail 19 tried to charge more than they told us when we dropped off calf, after we questioned them they charged what they originally told us.They called said meat was ready, we picked up took home, meat not fully frozen and was not cut the way we ordered. We called they said not being fully frozen was OK and they told us they cut the meat the way we ordered it. They were so busy convincing me the way I ordered the meat cut they would never let me get a word in. I guess they know more about what we ordered than we do, they act like it any way.We have been having beef & deer processed locally for over 35 years, we tried Rail 19 because our regular packer was so booked out , it was a mistake for us not to wait for our regular guys who have always done a great job.I understand Rail 19 is new to the area and just getting started, everyone makes mistakes, but according to them they did nothing wrong and I don't know what I am talking about, maybe they are right, but I know I won't be going back to Rail 19.
