Very poor customer service, Concerning the seriousness of my dog issue. Quoted a week out for an emergency service. Then it was what ever when I said I could not wait that long. Highly recommend calling another local Veterinary even driving to Wichita falls if needed. Poor customer service = poor animal care. Hindsight I would have liked to have read some of the other negative reviews the many, are in line with my experience.

Had never been there before. Waited for 10 minutes in their lobby before anyone ask my name at all. (I had signed in clearly at the desk). Then was told we had no appointment and when I expressed disdain because we had already waited for 3 days to get the appointment was ask, "well what do you want us to do about it? There isn't even a vet here today." (On a day I had an appointment).I left with my sick dog and they called back 30 minutes later advising me they FOUND the appointment but now the time had passed and it was missed. Not only did my sick dog NOT get the help he needed or even SEEN after waiting for this clinic for 3 days, but the top it off, they sent ME a Dear John letter terminating me from their services.All because THEY were incompetent, unfriendly , and too impatient to try and help thier own staff members, me, or my dog.

We took our dog with a huge tumor there for a second expecting to be told there was nothing they could do and to put her down just like the other vet said. We were treated kindly and given lots of information and options. We opted for surgery, we will see how recovery goes but just the way they took time to explain everything and gave choices was huge. We will be taking our other animals here as well.

Made an appointment for our sick dog. Show up and are told we don't have an appointment and that the dog that has been there for his entire life isn't in the system...Then they proceeded to just hang up on me rather than admit they made a mistake. I'll be taking all my pets to a different vet from now on.

First off this place smells so bad of cat urine. I took my dogs here for a couple months. I do not like that they are still on paper so you never get reminders about vaccines etc. I took my older dog here due to weight gain and heavy breathing. The vet said she was breathing heavy because of the heat. I tried explaining its all the time and even when she just wakes up. It worried me. She said she was fine. Started on thyroid medicine stating that was her reason for allergies. I trusted this vet and today I am sorry to say that I had to put my sweet Destiny down because this vet did not listen to me and run further testing. She was in heart failure. Please consider using a vet that listens to your concerns so you don't lose your pet too.

Bowie Pet Clinic did an awesome job with my cat, Malley. Surgery and an overnight stay and she was ready to come home. She had an abscess that was taking care of by another vet clinic here in town. Took her in twice within 4 days and 300.00’s later, she was not doing good. Called and got appointment with Bowie Pet Clinic. The site was still accessed under the skin, so we had to have surgery. She stayed the night and I picked her up the next day and we are 6 days from surgery and doing great!! I so recommend them and their wonderful staff. They made this appointment all worth while and was nothing but caring from the start. I recommend them to anyone looking for a facility that is just not a business but a compassionate and caring facility. They truly care about what they do. Thank you Bowie Pet Clinic, Dr. Pam and her staff!! You all rock!!

Dr. Barlow took fantastic care of Baxter when he encountered a snake bite. She told us everything we needed to know. He has been going to Bowie Pet Clinic from a small puppy. Knowing he was in the best care possible was a huge relief for us. Her staff is ALWAYS exceptionally kind and helpful! Baxter truly loves going to the vet!

Look no further than Bowie Pet Clinic for your domestic pet needs.I called the office on a busy day when a barn cat showed up limping with what I thought may be a fracture or bite. We had not been seen before by their office and were told that their appointments were full for a couple of days, but that we could drop him off and Dr. Pat would look at him between visits. At drop off, I was pleasantly surprised that we would be seen at that time. I had the option to stay and speak with the vet, or drop and go as planned. We stayed, and my cat was given comprehensive care and no extra nonsense. At our old metropolitan vet, if you thought a pet had a broken bone, they would jump at the chance to charge you for an x-ray. Dr. Pat did not, but gave a thorough exam and determined that it was just an abscess. I asked several questions about method of treatment, and she was very kind to explain why she suggested what she did.Long story short: two overnight stays, lancing, cleaning, antibiotics, anesthesia/sedation, and neutering of our sweet kitty cost us less here than a simple visit and antibiotic Rx would have at our old big city vet....and the quality of care is unmatched. Clarissa (vet tech) is tender and caring, and Toni that handles the appointments and financial end goes above and beyond on customer service. Do yourself a favor and make Bowie Pet Clinic your go-to for animal needs.

Loved the vet! Desk lady was awesome! My only problem is that while i had my kitten come in for a workup, the waiting area was empty so i let her walk around. One of there big dogs in a room behind the office saw her and just ran through the door guard they had set up. Scared all of us to death. They weren't have hurt my cat, i learned afterward there friendly, but still a scary experience. My kitten was pretty shaken up about it for a while.

Called for help for my Scooby. Got the appointment the same day. Christy works the front desk and she is so sweet and very helpful. Dr. Barlow took very good care of him and did not sugar coat what's wrong with him. Went back to the front desk to check out and Christy explained in full detail of how to administer his meds. I will be taking my other babies there for their care. A huge thank you to both of you.

Pam is great with animals. She takes her time explaining what she believes is going on. She gives an animal medicine to see if it helps before considering those high dollar test. Staff is very helpful and friendly.

Can be difficult to reach at times, and sometimes the technicians cannot answer questions as well as I would like.Had my baby girl spayed by Dr. Pam back in February. A little over a week ago she began acting like she was coming into heat. So I locked her up, a way from him until I could talk to the Dr on Friday. Than on Thursday she escaped from confinement and accepted my male.Total panicked. Did some research on the symptoms, seems as if either they missed part of a overt or the clipped a piece loose and it migrated and attached to another organ where it is now producing estrogen.Called the Vet on Friday and explained the situation, was told "Bring her in the next time she starts acting like she is in heat and the doctor will take a look." Explained again that she was currently accepting male and was told that the dr was leaving for the day, but I could bring her in on Monday. I ask them how much it was going to cost to have them do the surgery this time, since I had already paid $175.00 to have her spayed. The clerk ask Dr. Pam and I was told that they would perform the procedure for free. That she would need to be fasting from 10 PM on Sunday night.So I loaded her up on Monday and dropped her off. When we arrived I was told that since she was having problems, I would have to pay for the biopsy of her ovary, that Dr. Pam had wanted to do back in Feb. or they couldn't do anything. That I couldn't afford back then. Since my baby is evidently sick from the last surgery I told them to go ahead & send it off & I would pay for it. I should have left right then & found another veterinarian, but my baby was in pain & I just wanted her to feel better.WELL SURPRISE:Vet's office called 3 hrs later and said I could come pick her up. That the Dr. had examed her & she was fine. When I ask how the surgery went & if she had any side effects from the anathisia the tech seemed confused. So I explained everything to her and was told they hadn't performed any surgery. That they hadn't received any intake paperwork and that Dr. Pam was gone for the day, but they would keep Gemma overnight and have Dr. Pam examine her in Am. ( Who examined her to begin with if not Dr.. Pam?)Then I get a phone call this morning from the technician and unless I come up with another $125.00 for a blood test they won't do the surgery. So I told them I could either pay for the biopsy or the estrogen test but not both. We are on a fixed income and while I try to keep some money back each month to pay for unexpected/emergencies, I don't have disposable income.I feel like they botched this surgery "she was doing fine before the surgery" and they should fix it at their expense. I was simply trying to do preventative care. They are trying to get me to pay for the surgery again by saying they need these test for safety reasons.I have already found a different vet because it seems like she is always out of the office whenever I call or is going to be gone for a week.I admit I was upset when I wrote this review. Dr. Pam Barlow has treated my babies in the past and while this time there was complications, I admit this is the first time I've had a problem other than some difficulty getting appointments.Dr. Barlow has explained her reasons for the test & the results as well as giving me copies to take to my new vet. IF I should have a emergency and cannot reach my current veterinarian I will use her until my veterinarian is available.Gemma's test came back and Dr. Barlow had the estrogen test run to ensure that she did indeed have ovarian tissue that is producing estrogen. She will eventually have to have exploratory surgery in order to find the tissue, however since the doctor says it will not cause Gemma any pain or other problems except for the heat cycle I'm going to wait until she cycle again before putting her through the stress of another surgery.
