We have an older dog that is nervous about vet appointments. He needed a thorough checkup, vaccine, and to have his teeth cleaned.He went to Bergheim for the first time, and, very unusual for him, he did not get nervous at entrance. Usually he crouches under us to get away from the front office situation. But here, the front office had a warm and friendly feeling that obviously calmed him. A lot of that was due to Dr. Christina Kresser, who made sure to consider his nervousness, his age, his allergies, and that he was comfortable and well taken care of throughout the whole appointment. And also the receptionist and the technician were very nice, engaged, and competent.When we picked our dog up, he was calm and has recovered without any trauma at all. This is an unusual experience for him, and so nice for all of us.Today, the next day, as you can see from the picture, he is moseying around completely normal. He is bright eyed, and with beautiful teeth!

New to the Boerne/Bergheim area and everyone was absolutely wonderful! Super friendly, knowledgeable, understanding, kind, compassionate and they really took care of our 12.5 year old yellow lab. She can be a handful at times and they literally got on the floor with her and made the whole visit seem like they were playing. Friendly staff, good with the dog and everyone made time to greet my pet. A 1-year old dog check up visit and all shots was $280 for the 15 to 20 minutes that we were there. This number seemed a bit more but not by much based on calls prior to setting appointment, understandable since there are so many variables. The only dislike is that they want you to use their pharmacy, if you want an option to shop and need a prescription they mandate another $8.00 in order to get a prescription. Business manager called to review the policy and seemed judgmental, although respectful. My rub is that this was my first visit based on reviews, I am looking for a small town feel. Their position on wanting another $8 after collecting $280 for visit and blood work seems petty and only focuses on the money not the well being of the pet! Good Luck!

This is the absolute best vet. Our beloved dog Eevee was not well at all. I called around and other vets could not get her in. Then I called here. Starting with Lori..she answered the phone, listened and was empathetic and said bring Eevee in and we will work it out. Then Dr Gladman took care of Eevee. She was in bad shape and after days of care she asked us to come in. We made the decision to let her go as she was pretty bad. It was one of the toughest decision and events we went through but this place was so amazing in making it about Eevee and so compassionate! Thank you for making the experience so easy and peaceful. Excellent In Every Way: Great Doctors; Great Vet Techs and Office Staff...All are very customer focused and take excellent care of our cat. We just completed the annual exam/vaccines and lab tests. We have used for them for many years and highly recommend Bergheim Pet Hospital and Clinic. Our cat Smokey agrees!!

We have been clients for about 18 years. Dr. Fradkin and staff are always caring, professional, personable and courteous. Throughout these years we have experienced annual exams, porcupine quill extractions, mending of a broken tail, cancer diagnosis, oral care, allergy issues and euthanasia. Throughout each of these examples, as well as countless others, Dr. Fradkin and staff have always communicated well. Time and care were taken to insure we understood procedures and options. Their many kindnesses to our animals and to us personally will always be remembered.

I wish I could give 0 stars for this horrible place! Elizabeth the manager is a complete nightmare. She is very rude, uncaring, confrontational, and does not want to help anyone. The dr then proceeded to send me my pet's file knowing that he had no food and was almost out of his meds he must take everyday! The doctor says "good luck" in her email. No compassion no sympathy or empathy. This place is OK with your pet's suffering. They are not there to help. BE VERY AWARE!

Both of our dogs come to Bergheim and we have been very pleased with the entire experience. Sassy, our mini golden doodle, gets groomed there every 6 weeks. They do a fantastic job with everything. Sassy loves everyone at the clinic - vets and staff included. You can tell by the attention they give that everyone there loves and cares for your pet. I can't recommend them enough!

Recently took my cats for health check and rabies shots. First time visit. The clinic is very clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. The vet tech and the vet were very accommodating and knowledgeable. One of my cats was very afraid and got very nervous "just because". She took a swipe at the vet's face but the vet took it all in stride and handled the situation professionally and with a sound medical practice attitude. I will definitely be returning for services here. Very impressed with the knowledge and the expertise of all the staff.

We are new in the area and needed a new clinic for our two dogs. Everyone in my neighborhood told me to come to Bergheim and that I would not be disappointed. I think my dogs got better treatment that I do when I go to my own doctor! They are so knowledgeable, kind, caring, and professional. They welcomed us as new patients and we felt right at home. It could not have been a better experience from start to finish!

Bergheim prescribed food for my dog. Tried to order through Chewy. Bergheim does not “work” with Chewy, so Bergheim wanted me to make the 45 mile round trip drive there for paper prescription to snail mail to Chewy. OR I could use Bergheim’s online store. Tried that, but shipping time for my dog’s food is 3-7 business days. Plan ahead folks. Can’t really depend on Bergheim for simple things like buying dog food.Edited as I cannot respond to the owner’s comment. Yes my visit was good. The one star review is for the fact that, as good as it was, I now cannot feed my dog without driving 45 miles or waiting 3-7 business days. While this may be acceptable to Bergheim it is not acceptable to me in the least.

Love Bergheim Pet Hospital. Our Callie just had her annual and Dr. Fradkin and staff were great. They were loving, thorough and answered all my questions. I even learned how to take care of our overabundance of raccoons safely and humanely. :) A bonus for us is how close they are. Can't recommend enough.

Very caring staff. I felt like they treated my fur babies like they were their own. I didn't want to give a whole bunch of shots/testing on my indoor babies (one is 15) and travel. Staff was very understanding and did not "shame" me for opting out. They were also so compassionate when my oldest dog (16y.o.) needed end of life care. My girl couldn't hold on for the appointment and it I had to go to another facility over the weekend.I called to let them know to cancel her appointment. A few days later I received the sweetest sympathy card from the staff. 10/10 recommend.

My dog was licking her paws raw and needed to go to the vet, I called my regular vet but they were unavailable so I called bergheim and though I couldn’t get an appointment at a time that worked for me they mentioned they had a drop off appointments they could do that way my dog could get care without me being present. This really helped me out with convenience. They took great care of my pup and I noticed she had a much better mood after being seen by them, I will probably be making them her regular vet. 🐾

I've been taking my dogs here since they opened. The staff is always very nice and the vets are excellent and very thorough! They are excellent at "bedside manner" for the dog AND the owner. The whole staff are truly animal lovers and treat your animal as if it were their own. I won't take my animals any where else since I've been here! Love them!

Dr. Dawn Fradkin has been our vet for almost 20 years now. She’s cared for all our 4 precious Corgis, and has been attentive and loving to all of them! Her attention to detail (to run labs and tests for answers) has always brought our family great peace. Our sweet boy was her first patient out of vet school, and they loved each other!

Dr. Fradkin is the finest veterinarian I have ever found. I've had dogs in my care for more than 50 years and Bergheim Pet Hospital & Clinic is the best.They helped me and my black Lab, Missy, through her senior years, and her passing, with empathy and compassion. Now they delight in meeting and caring for our miniature long haired dachshund puppy, Maggie.Oh, and they are very, very good at what they do.

I have 3 dogs and one cat. Three of these family members are seniors. With both the routine (annual visits, rechecks, boarding, grooming) and urgent requirements (diagnosing & treating lymphoma and identifying foreign objects in a tummy), and special needs (Soft Paws, elder checks, compounding medications), all of our care has been excellent! I appreciate the time, attention and loving care we receive from the phone calls, the visits and the follow up calls from the doctors. I highly recommend this facility!

Extremely impressive caring and compassion! My dog had become ill very quickly, and my vet wasn't able to get us in. I didn't think we could wait, so I called Bergheim Pet Hospital, and when they heard my situation, they got us in right away. From the minute we arrived, every person we encountered went out of their way to accommodate us with kindness. They took us in immediately, discussed what we were experiencing and then gave me a plan. What struck me the most was the kindness. They got me in a side door so she wouldn't have to walk as far, and then when they saw what a difficult time she was having, they carried her for me (she's 100lbs!). I needed to pick up my son, so they were able to keep her in a room and start the testing which included bloodwork and xrays. When I got back, everything was done, and my dog was wrapped in a fluffy blanket - clearly very comfortable with them. And they were able to diagnose the problem from the bloodwork, so they were also able to skip the Xrays. Thank you to you all for helping us at a very stressful time!

My wife and I accompanied our 140-lb German Shepard, Sam; after being highly recommended. We were both very very pleased at the professionalism, thorough examination, and treatment Sam received. This clinic is awesome. Having recently moved to the area we were at a loss as to where to take our ill dog. We choose this clinic based on the reviews and of cause the proximity to our house. We are so glad we choose them. The staff and doctor are amazing. The doctor took her time and explained everything to me. The techs are knowledgeable, caring and friendly.

Bentley is a Year old West Highland Terrier. He is a double handful. This is the second time we have had him groomed here and even though it is a twenty minute drive for us each way, we will be back. The groomer did a fantastic job on him, the staff from the receptionist to the techs, to the groomer were polite, knowledgeable and friendly.

Absolutely phenomenal staff, had an appointment for my DDR German Shepherd to get his second round of shots as well as get microchipped, and he was very well taken care of. We got started on a heart worm and flea and tick preventative. Great prices, super knowledgeable staff, and they sure do love him. We will be back again!
