This sweet boy was running loose on the road in front of my house.. He saw me and followed me home...I couldn't keep him, so I called them to come chip check him, no chip, but They took him with them... Female officer was very kind, Hopefully they can locate his family, he was the goodest boy😢😢 hopefully he gets adopted....

I love my beautiful kitty I got from the shelter. Getting an adult pet is great! They are past the curtain climbing stage and will appreciate everything you do for them. Give the adults a chance. You’ll be glad you did.

I just adopted my beautiful girl from here. The employees are very patient and kind and really wanted to make sure we were a good match.I wish more of the shelters charged more for their adoptions like this shelter does. $20 (the City of Temple fee) isn't really a consideration for most people so they aren't that committed. This shelter charges $50 and up, which is more appropriate, I think.Always #adoptdontshop, these babies will love you forever.

honestly wouldn’t recommend. i adopted a kitten from there not even a week ago, told me he was 11 weeks old. i don’t know if they’ve ever seen a kitten that old because this baby was maybe 6 weeks, weighed .32kg and was very sick. there’s no way they didn’t know something was wrong with him, we got very attached and tried helping him become a normal kitten but it was too late and we had to put him down. needs to start actually taking care of their animals.

My sweet old cat disappeared so I went to this location looking for him. When I arrived, there was a line of other people looking for their animals too. The staff were so patient with all of us. They were very knowledgeable about what animals they currently had but out of consideration for each of us, they verified it in their database and even conferred with other staff to make sure that there was also a physical check. I wish I had found my cat but I'm glad for the experience. I was very impressed by how efficiently this animal shelter is operated. Your staff are really good at their job.

This place is a joke. I went there Saturday and found the little dog I wanted, I was told that he would not be available for adoption until Tuesday. Tuesday morning comes around and I arrived a little early (cause the girl at the desk told me first come first served). The time on the door said they open at 1030, I sat outside in the heat waiting for them to open. 1030 comes around, they didn’t open. Another sign on the door said they will open at 11, so once again I waited for them to open. There was employees in the building and they were sitting at the front desk playing on their phones and eating, while I waited for them to come and open the door. At 1130 , someone hangs on the door a sign that said they won’t be open today, NO EXPLANATION or anything. So as I was leaving, the sign came off the door. Needless to say I didn’t get to adopt the pet I wanted.

I volunteer here and they have a great operation. They seem to take great care of the animals until they can be reclaimed or adopted. They have so many cats, kittens, puppies and dogs looking for their forever homes.

Had an appointment to surrender our pet due to us relocating but was never notified that their facility was closed. Went there to find signs on the doors that stated they were closed to clean but did not state for how long. No one answered the phones or had the courtesy to call us before we wasted our whole day trying to get ahold of someone. We only discovered that they are temporarily closed due to going on their Facebook page, which had a post from July 25th that stated their facility is closed until further notice for deep cleaning.

Very friendly, I dropped off a stray dog i had kept for about 3days to see if anyone was looking for him. But after no one reached out to me looking for him I took him here. They were very nice, friendly, helpful and I felt very good leaving this sweet dog in their capable hands. Now that I know where it is, I will be dropping off donations here as well.

My neighbors cat got out for a total of 5 days. We made missing cat posts on multiple websites. On the 5th day, she was contacted directly from Bell County Animal Control stating they believe that he was there. Sure enough it was him. It's so awesome they went above and beyond by searching posts when I'm sure they didn't have to. They also waived the fee to get him out. He's home and doing great. This place is amazing and we appreciate everything they do! 💛

I called about two dogs on Monday afternoon and told them I was coming Tuesday to see the dogs from out of town. When I got to the shelter the dog had been placed on hold for a rescue group. When I ask why they didn’t hold it for me when I asked her she said they don’t hold animals.That’s when I said well yes you do you held it for the rescue. Please don’t Respond about rescue groups. I appreciate what they do, but as a responsible and experience pet owner I also should have the same privilege to take a sweet baby out of the shelter if it’s in the cage.

Disappointed to take an Uber to and from. Officer Meyers was polite. W couldn't get the pet we wanted because of rules not stated online. Details online sent us talking to PD and not them and then to bail bondsman.They were overflowing with pets that we didn't get one of because of unstated rules and unlisted regulations.Very very upsetting.We went to Temple and had a most amazing experience with Cheryl. We adopted. Thanks Cheryl!

I had an amazing experience here. All the staff was very friendly and didn't get bothered with multiple trips. I strongly encourage not to get a dog on the first trip, visit a couple times. They have both an indoor and out door metting area which is nice to see the dog in different environments.

Thanks Bell County Animal Shelter for giving me my best friend and cuddle buddy! Staff was super helpful with the whole process of adoption and kept us informed on her status. I only have two negatives, which are the office hours and not being able to place a hold on an animal. The office hours are Mon. - Sat., 10:30 am- 3:30 pm, which makes it difficult for someone who works a full-time job. We're lucky to have found her on the weekend. We had to wait the 72 hours for a possible owner to reclaim her (which I understand), and then it's first come first serve. We had to get there right when they opened to make sure no one else adopted her. Overall, I recommend the Bell County Animal Shelter because they save sweet animals and are doing a good job!

I couldn't believe how clean and well taken care of the dogs were here. It was my first time to a shelter to adopt a dog. I was on a mission to save a dog because my dog had passed away. I've heard so many horror stories about shelters. It touched my heart to how well these animals were and how clean this place was. Please take time, go look into one of these animals eyes and give it a loving home. Their hearts are waiting for yours.
