One of the best large and small animal clinics in the area. I travel 30 minutes for my dog\cat vet appointments. The personal touch from when you walk in the door until you walk out is 100%. Their emergency care is heartwarming and the prices beat anywhere else I've taken my pets. I am also grateful they participate in the PUPs program to help with low cost spay\neutering for the community.

Such an excellent experience! The staff is so friendly! We just moved to the area from out of state and really wanted to find a good veterinarian and we did! We went in for a check up in the morning left and was literally back in 30 minutes because our puppy cut herself. They squeezed us in stitched her up and we were good! Highly recommend!!

Our son’s bucket calf for the fair was badly injured in an accident on the day of the progress show. Dr James met us at the clinic as an emergency and did the best that could be done at the time. With daily treatments sent home and one checkup, she completely healed with VERY minimal scaring. Our son was able to still show her at the fair!

I just want to say coming from a city vet (Houston/Katy) to country vet was an adjustment but if you are new to the country and looking for a vet or just want a new vet these are the Best Vets and Techs and Staff around. I have had all 3 Veterinarians and all 3 have been wonderful and caring. And my last experience, more like emergency they went above and beyond including the tech and staff. And words can't say enough. But if you are reading reviews looking for a vet... I highly recommend them. And want to tell them thank you for being so kind and understanding.

Dr. James was AMAZING, kind, and compassionate during a very rough time when our family pet was suffering and required euthanasia. Our family needed him on a weekend and he and his staff were amazing during this very difficult time.

I used SHVC to help my dog pass. They offered a mobile option so I was able to transition my beloved pup in the comfort and safety of outside on the farm under the shade of a tree. They were so tender, gentle, and kind. They explained everything, and took extra measures to ensure my dog was the most comfortable and pain free. They went above and beyond in taking charge with the two keepsake crafts I had purchased for my dog's paw print. I'm forever grateful for that extra care because I was a so upset and distraught. I owe them so much for helping the transition for my sweet boy and myself be as gentle as possible. I highly recommend these staff who have a lot of heart and really care. The pricing was far better than the quotes I received in the city close to home as well. RIP Tadashi. Thank you SHVC.

Dr James is a great vet, I really wanted him as a vet for my dogs. I raise toy Schnauzers and have need of emergency care,as well as regular dog care and also my new born pups have a 3 to 5 day window for having their tails and dewclaws done. Today I called to make an appointment for two puppies that were born Saturday evening. The receptionist told me they didn’t have any openings till Friday. I told her that’s to late. She said, in a condescending tone, “Y’all are supposed to call the day they are born.” I had already told her they were born on Saturday. (Last pup born at 6pm) when I repeated that they were born late on Saturday, and how was I supposed to call them?, she said “No need to get snippy.” This is the 4th time this has happened plus I was turned away with a very sick little boy that needed attention asap…they were to busy. I also have been turned away for an emergency c-section. All by the same receptionist. Today she finally said, “I can talk to Dr James and see what he says, but I can’t guarantee anything.” She should have started out with that.I am an established customer for several years, I would think they would want my business.I haven’t heard back from her yet,Like I said in the beginning, I like Dr James… he is an awesome vet. But, It does me no good if I can’t get passed the receptionist. I feel like she is annoyed with me… and doesn’t want to even try to help me. She is Very unprofessional with an attitude, toward me. I’ve never had a receptionist tell me there is no need to get snippy. I even mentioned all this to one of the other girls in the front, about the last time this happened. If it wasn’t for these repeated occurrences, making me feel like my vet of choice, doesn’t have time for me, I would have given 5 stars!

This is a great place to take your family pet. They use tender loving care, at all times. They took care of our little Bonnie girl, whom was a Chihuahua. She passed but we have her here in a little box that they fix for her. Now they're taking care of our Chihuahua, Todd. We got him from a rescue place in Katy Texas. He's a one-eyed puppy dog. Star Hill, is taking care of him now as they did with Bonnie girl. It's really a great place to take your family pet. Thank you, Georgia

We take all of our rescues here along with our personal dogs. Most everyone here is so kind and caring. Dr James and Dr Stephanie are amazing at what they do, explaining their decisions and recommendations at every turn. Although a rarity, if Dr James isn't sure about the answer, he researches and reads everything about it. They treat each animal as if it was their own. I have 100% confidence in them!

We’ve been going here since before Sr. Dr Lamp retired. Everyone is friendly, professional and most importantly, you can tell they truly love animals. We’ve had every kind of service you can think of, from newborn visits to our very elderly animals coming in for their final visit. And we live in an area where people tend to dump dogs and cats, so we’ve had quite a few. Star Hill is truly the best of the best!

I breed show dogs and they travel all over the country.Needless to say,they have been to the best vets in Houston and its surroundings. Thank goodness I found Dr Lamp. Won't go into bad experiences with other vets, but my dogs like this vet hospital. Staff s friendly and more important the vets are competent and professional. Prices are good and I have found that the doctors take their time to really LISTEN to you so they understand your animal better. So happy to have them in my life!

I've used the clinic three times to spay and neuter cats through the PUPS program. They are friendly, punctual and professional, but what means the most to me is that they all seem to truly love animals. I think my cats did better because they felt cared for.

I had them come out to the farm to look at my pet bull. They checked him out and took the time to tell me what they felt his problems were and what needed to be done. They had all the products with them that they needed to give him. After getting done they even offered twice to help me if needed to get him out of the chute. The best thing is they were running a little late due to the customers with animals at their office and they took the time to call and let me know. Now that is excellent customer service.

This has been our puppy dog's vet clinic since we got her as a rescue puppy. They are very caring, attentive, supportive and informative about her care. They offer the latest in heartworm and flea and tick prevention so instead of monthly treatment you only have to deal with it every six months!
