In the past I have spent hundreds of dollars if not a thousand at this store. One person, Jenn quickly became the main reason I would come to this place because of great customer service.There has been a tendency I've noticed of me receiving shabby customer service by everyone else there.Today I went in with the intentions of buying a fish tank kit and a filter. I was willing to pay up to $300 for everything that I needed.The problem manifested itself when I was in the store with a basket lifting up tanks looking for price tags and what was inside the tank and checking the conditions. Not a soul greeted me. Now at 15 minutes I found the aquatics technician cleaning tanks. He finally acknowledged my presence said hello and went to scrubbing tanks again.The store had three potential customers inside. There were two employees at the front register talking, not even a nod of acknowledgment.If you would like to spend a lot of money and do all the work yourself I would recommend this store.

They were kind in helping me find a proper leach for my dog who.has decided to chew through his while riding in the car. Store has some really neat fish and birds. Store is clean and near.

What truly stood out to me was the level of care and attention the staff showed to each and every pet that came through the door. I witnessed them engaging with customers and their furry companions in such a compassionate and respectful manner, which was heartwarming to see. To the girl with the valentine make up and the lady with glasses and short hair I’m sorry i didn’t catch y’all’s names but they’re amazing and wonderful and thank you! 💗

This is an older location that doesn't have a grooming salon. I will say the staff has always been great but it would be nice to see some updates done to the store. It does look worn, and is small so they don't have a huge selection like some of the newer stores. 3 stars for selection and being outdated but 5 stars for the staff.

Out of every Petco and PetSmart I have been to this one always has the healthiest looking fish. The customer service is also top tier.

Went in looking for a fish tank and accessories. The store associate Victoria was extremely knowledgeable and helpful!! She mentioned a few things that we weren’t aware of and made sure that we understood everything!! The store cashier Mathew went above and beyond!!! We were there on Black Friday but the items we were processing weren’t on sale. Mathew mentioned “price match”. We looked the items up by their item number ONLINE and we were able to use the online price rather then the store price WHICH SAVED US ALOT OF MONEY!! Thank you Mathew && Victoria for your assistance!!! I would’ve given the store a 5 star rating but there was a store associate that was giving an attitude vibe when asked to assist us & I didn’t care for it. I know his name but I don’t want to blast him. Anyways thank you to the main associates here for a great experience!!

I wish I could give them zero stars. The last 3 times I have been in this store I have left disappointed. Its dirty and disorganized. The staff has become very different and rude. Tonight was the last time I will go there. Who sales tons of cat box lids with no bottoms? This store does! Ridiculous! Also, why in the heck would they offer to sale a customer a defective product with a percentage off putting your animals in danger? This lady had the nerve to try to sell me a broken cat box tonight! Unbelievable! Absolutely no help at all either.Petco on Harwood you need to take all your defective cat boxes and lids with no capable bottoms off the shelves!

Went in for fresh step crystal cat litter. The first associate was very helpful, but she dropped me as soon as another person could "help."The second associate was incredibly unhelpful, and almost rude. She kept trying to get me to change types of litter, even after I explained several reasons why the crystal litter was in use in my home.She also dropped me to "help" another person. I ended up leaving and purchasing the litter at PetSmart on Glade.I'm really disappointed, this was where I used to do all of my pet necessity shopping 4-5 years ago, and customer service has gone down hill.

I just went in to get crickets and the woman (sad I didn’t catch her name) was so kind and funny even to the fuzzy friends! Even when she got slammed with like 6 people asking questions she handled everyone with kindness and professionalism

We switched over from Petsmart, as over where I am, they allowed me to pay for my dog's food at a later time.I had gone in to get some, not realising how close to closing time it was. Payments were attempted, but due to the registers being locked down, they said just come back and pay for it. Which I did, and since they are very knowledgeable of the ways of dog, we just stayed there. Food, grooming, vaccinations, and of course toys. They are happy doggos even during visits

Got a scratching post. When our cat refused to touch it, they let us return it for a refund. Nice folks. Hard-to-gey-along-with cat.

Is very sad when you are vital Care member and expect good customer service. The store is excellent. And the set up of the store, it's great , some of the staff are pretty good The reason for the 3 stars is because the person who was taking care of me, told me that there were some items, that wouldn't be covered under their vital care program. I went to a different Petco and they told me that everything was cover on the program. Not only that, I went to a different store, and they told me the same. I don't know if the person wasn't knowledgeable of the program criteria or he didn't want to take care of me....

I haven’t been in with my Maltese for a long while due to Covid. I’ve tried to take care of him myself. Poor Charlie! I’m his Mom, not his groomer. So when I made an appointment with “Jordan”, wondered what “he” would be like, with my tiny 10# Maltese. Well!!! It was a PLEASURE to walk in with Charlie and be greeted by A lovely young lady: Jordan!!! “Are you here with Charlie?” How nice!! I told her my concerns, a “picture” of what I would like (ha-ha) to look like, and turned Charlie over to her. Less time than usual SHE called! Charlie was ready!! Oh my! When I saw my dog, he REALLY, REALLY, “really” looks like the picture.JORDAN was amazing!! Kudos to Jordan!!!

Haven't been to Petco in a while and my kids asked to go check it out to look at some animals, purchase some crickets for a lizard, and get some treats for our dog. The store was extremely cluttered, there were sale signs, however, I couldn't tell if the items were new items being put out on the floor or just a giant sale section to the side of the entrance. I think there were two employees working, no one greeted us or asked if we needed any assistance. When I did ask for help she told me it would be a minute, there wasn't anyone else in the store so I'm not sure what she was doing, I waited about four minutes then she helped get the items I had asked for. There weren't very many animals in the store but the kids still had a good time looking at what they had! There were lots of dead fish floating in the fish tanks and stuck on the filters. The store did have what I was looking for so gave 3 stars!

They are the only store that carries my Bombay's favorite treats. It's hard to find dehydrated meat snacks for cats but Petco always has Salem's favorite treats and I am always satisfied with the price.

Cute kitties. Not so cute staff. Was there when 2 women were working; one older and one younger. No one else in the store and they refused to let my little girl touch guinea pigs or hamsters. Got what we needed and left. Besides the staff, they have what I need so I have frequented there the last 5 years. There was a guy that works during the day that was a manager that I really liked but I haven't seen him in a while. They usually have cats that need adopted which is a plus. Great selection of rodents and fish. But the staff lately has stunk. I used to manage a Mom and pop's pet store in Illinois while I was in college. Kindness and customer service goes a a long way.

The staff were awesome. Gina and Brittany went above and beyond helping this disabled lady acquire a sweet pair of budgies and ALL the necessaries. I'll have a better review up on Yelp about them. For now, you should be very proud to have two such delightful and conscientious young women on staff. The store is lucky to have them.
