I wish I could have stayed longer! The Innkeepers (Dave & Karen) were so kind and helpful. The Inn is unique and very charming. I needed a place to sleep for the start of a long road trip and also wanted to visit the Balmorhea pool. This spot fit my needs perfectly and then some. It's located across the street from a bar & grill. Couldn't be more convenient. The inn has nice outdoor space to enjoy the beautiful evenings.Again Dave and Karen went above and beyond to accommodate my needs. I couldn't have been more pleased.

The Eleven is timeless and does have many pluses such as room size, amenities, and location, but we had some bad luck. The owner was very friendly when booking and when he returned our 2nd day, but we never received any info re what room we were in. The manager wasn’t there when we arrived after a 6 hour drive, so we had to knock on the door of a resident, who said just pick the room you like! The WiFi was out, no hot water, and the TV didn’t work. But there was WiFi at the bar next door, hot water fixed next day, and didn’t care about TV. Did enjoy the coffee bar in the shared kitchen and hanging out on the deck. So I suggest making sure you have a room assignment and the amenities you need are available….

I understand it is a family business, I respect that but the rooms are very old, furniture was dusty, there was something growing out of the AC, spiders in the room that hopefully ate whatever lived in the big cracks in the wall. There was a small TV that only had MSNBC on.Supposedly, this place was $125 a night but we got charged $75The owner was very friendly but I cannot stay there again.I don't understand how this place got so high reviews.

The Eleven Inn is wonderful The staff are very friendly and helpful. To schedule a room, give them a call and they will help you arrange your stay. Pets are allowed for a small fee. The rooms are lovely with nice antique furniture that is great for relaxing after a day spent at the nearby state parks (Balmorhea and Davis Mountains). The room has a microwave and a fridge to store snacks. There is also a shared kitchen area for you to prepare food. I had a great time staying here and definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Beautiful cozy felt like home at my grandma's house. Chenelle bed spread. The heater was on and the door unlocked for me. The owner? Greeted me as I got out of my car . It was pretty late but he stayed watching for me to make sure I found it alright. He introduced his self and politely greeted me and showed me the way to my room. Easy as that. Very welcoming. A safe haven on my travels for sure.Rooms: Very cozy and comfortable. Home like and personal.Safety: Seemed very safe. Manager on site.Noteworthy details: Just a truly easy no hassle kind of place. Quant. Seemed like a family place and or quiet get away. Neat and clean.

We were traveling from El Paso with our 3 children, moving to Illinois. We became very tired from driving and ended up searching hotels which brought us here. We got in here immediately, and he was very friendly! Great host. The outside is very well kept and pretty. Our room was nice and cozy for us and our kids. We all took showers and relaxed for the night. I’m glad we ended up here rather than a big chain hotel. If you stay here, you’ll love it! The owner is very sweet and you can tell he puts love into this place and hard work.

I stayed here for 4 days with my girlfriend in the regular single queen room. It was a great experience. Dave and Karen are so nice and they are great hosts; they gave recommendations of things to do in the area on top of their pamphlet they had in the room. The bathtub was big and elevated and the room was very cute. Some gnats get into the room if you don't close the door quick at night but there weren't any when we showed up. They have a nice seating place in the yard with some bug spray to enjoy the evening and the prices are very reasonable. There are limited activities to do around but San Solomon spring is great; make sure you reserve your pool ticket online ahead of time. Even if you can't get into the pool, the canal that runs through town right in front of the hotel is great to dip your toes in for some cool water. If you're going to stay more than one night, make sure you have at least some plan of what to do around the area. La Cueva De Oso is very good. The drive to Ft. Davis is beautiful. If you're thinking about stopping here for the night while driving through, consider staying a little longer. The mess in the picture is our stuff, the room was clean and Karen made our bed every day while we were here, restocking towels and soap.

This place is so adorable. It isn't anything fancy, in fact, it feels like a step away from the hustle & bustle. I ended up having to stop off the interstate due to the ice storm that came through. Mr. David was awesome & very hospitable. I will definitely be back if I'm back in the area again. I also loved the little fire pit area off to the side.

We came to Balmorhea for an escape from the city and have a nice, quiet evening. The park itself was disappointing but this place delivered! Very quiet, peaceful, and relaxing; a wonderful escape. Not sterile-feeling like many hotels. The AC unit was even quieter than in most places.I had to make a couple attempts to contact the owners before I was able to make a reservation, but it was worth it.

Checking in an out was a breeze!!! We really enjoyed our stay here at this country motel. It's operated by just 2 people, so when you call to make a reservation, they may not answer right away, but that's okay, just call again. You'll give them your info and CC, and then the day before your trip, they will confirm that your room is ready and waiting. The rooms were nice and quiet with comfy beds and a mini fridge and microwave. Very satisfied with our stay and will be returning next time we want to swim at the springs. On top of all this, the owners went above and beyond and mailed us our set of clothes we accidentally left behind.

This place is so cute and cozy- the perfect little west Texas motel. It’s only 6 minutes away from the pool and the grounds are stunning. It was hard to leave our porch in the mornings because it was so lovely to sit and read and enjoy the breeze. The owners are so nice and helpful. 11/10 would recommend! I will definitely be stayinghere again when I come to west Texas.

One night stay while passing through on the way to San Antonio. The Eleven Inn was a pleasant surprise with a nice, clean room and what looked like some recent upgrades, comfortable bed and quiet surroundings. David and Karen were very pleasant and responsive in booking the night. At their recommendation, enjoyed a simple but wholesome dinner at Jo's Bar & Grill next door.

The bathroom was very clean and the room is very fuctional. Highly recommended and we will definitely come back if we head back to Texas.

The sweetest people own this place. When Tx had the Snow apocalypse of 2021 my Mother , sister , brother in law ,my niece and nephew we’re traveling cars, and got stuck in the snow storm. We were trying to find places for them to stay.I had called ever hotel in this town, Eleven Inn was the the only one left to call.So There were no rooms available. But the owner gave me detailed and current up-to-date information community centers in their small and surrounding towns that were open for travelers to come stay at.It was a safe warm shelter with meals and cots ❤️It was freezing out.My family needed to get somewhere safe and warm. He saved the day.

Whenever driving across West Texas, I go out of my way to stay here. The rooms are small (it was built as a motor lodge in the 40s), but well appointed and comfortable. Each room has seats out front, which is a great place to enjoy the evening air and talk with the other guests. The owners are very friendly and make the experience that much better. Only a few minutes drive to the pool at the state park. Walking distance to restaurants, which is great after a long drive. Dog friendly! One of my favorite hotels in the country!

This is not some run-of-the-mill motel. This is a time machine disguised as an old motor court. The hosts make you feel at home and David is a great conversationalist, if you like that. If not, politely dismiss yourself and he won't mind. But I enjoyed talking with him. They are both kind and thoughtful folks of the old mold that you don't find enough of anymore. The facilities are old and old-fashioned, but well kept for what they are. You won't find high-class luxury here. It is homey. It is comfortable. It is one of the most cozy places we've ever stayed. I couldn't recommend it more.It may not be for every traveler, but if you like quirky, special, out-of-the-way places with a unique flavor and kind people, do yourself a favor and stay here. It's almost exactly halfway between Houston and Tucson, so it's a great mid-way point. Lots of interesting things to see in the area, so my wife and I hope to spend a couple of days there next time through.

On our way back from AZ to TX, we hit black ice on I-10 and smashed into the back of a semi. In the middle of an unexpected Texas blizzard, and 70 miles of backed up traffic due to all the crashes, we were stuck in a totaled car open to the elements in a blizzard without proper clothing for seven entire hours. When we got towed by K&J towing (amazing!!), we spent the night here. We were incredibly cold and there was plenty of hot water and a very efficient heater that warmed the room right up. It was the ideal place to take care of our injuries and finally sleep after an incredibly traumatic crash. The owners were wonderfully kind and gave us their last available room after hearing what had happened to us. I am very grateful to them, and it really did feel like staying at my grandma's place, like they said it would!

I need to echo the sentiments of all the previous guests who sung the praises of the hospitality offered by Karen & David! "Rustic elegance" would describe the facilities, walkable to two eating establishments. And very quiet rooms. David set a fire in the fire pit, and there's vintage playground equipment for the youngin's. A fine launch pad for touring scenic West Texas!

It’s was a great place to stop by from a long drive to New Mexico. A lovely couple owns it, they’re very sweet and hospitable. They made sure we are informed on what’s around and great things to do. The rooms are nice and comfortable enough. We arrived late and had to leave early and so we didn’t get enough time to explore balmorhea, but they told us that there’s a nice lake where you can swim. We will definitely go back and we will stay there again!

Enjoyed listening to the owners stories. Very friendly hosts. Clean, cozy, room. Excellent bed. Great location. Very close to everything. Plus, the t.v. turned on by itself in the middle of the night, while we were sleeping. Didn't have any bad feeling though. My visit here will be memorable. I will return.

I stayed here a few weeks ago. I'd never stayed before. A few years ago my wife and I would go to Balmorhea park to swim often and we'd stay at the park and drive past this place. Finally decided to try it out. Really cozy kinda funky little place. Not a fancy boutique hotel. Not run down or shabby either. Comfortable and clean with just the right touch of old/non updated furniture/amenities to give it kind of a shabby chic vibe. The owners were really friendly and I enjoyed talking with them. A/C got nice and cold in my room! Just one tip for staying in town, make sure you get dinner/buy any supplies you need before 9PM! Everything is closed by 9. Love this little town and water in Balmorhea.

Wonderful quiet place to stay. The outside is very charming with twinking lights and plenty of outdoor seating. The rooms themselves are very basic and cozy. Exactly what we were looking for on our long drive from dfw. The owner is the best. She is super sweet and very helpful. She took the time to give us the rundown on everything balmorhea had to offer. We will definitely be back.

So so so pleased with my stay there! I was stranded with car troubles in the middle of a blizzard, and they were so warm and welcoming. The owners genuinely cared about me and my problems, she even ran out to hug me goodbye when the tow truck came! The hotel is clean and quaint. Its not your holiday inn or Marriott, but its better in so many ways. Its definitely a hidden jem, and I would recommend it to anyone who asks
