The rooms are very nice and clean. It is a great place to spend the night. This is not enough for me to dock it a star, but it might be for some people. The Wi-Fi connection is not great, and it is not secure. Also, there is no coffee in the rooms, but free coffee is available at the vending area next to the office. Other than that it is a great place to stay.

My husband and I were there last week, what a treasure, Absolutely Loved It. My husband said it was like staying in a extra bedroom of a private home. Have told many of our friends and are making plans to go again soon. Well worth for a nice stop, while traveling I-10. Its a marvelous alternative!Rooms: Clean, comfortable, peaceful. And we were there on a Saturday night!

We stayed here for one night as a rest stop on our way back from a three day camping trip at Big Bend. We stopped in Balmorhea to check out the natural spring pool (also highly recommend!) and chose this as our sleeping spot for the night. Our room was perfect and exactly what we were looking for. Clean, large bed, smelled nice, very friendly staff, and the restaurant next door was delicious. The rainfall showerhead was also a nice touch for us after spending several nights outdoors :) overall a great experience.

Don’t come to this place, our car broke down very close by The Sheriff give us a ride to the Hotel , when we called, She said one price and when we arrived She charged it to more expensive!!! She said that She didn’t realize that the only room available was that expensive!!! They have only 8 roomsShe took it advantage of the situation!!! So disappointed. we have been in many hotels, but I never had the service like this one.

Great little place to stay with a lovely courtyard setup between the rooms. It’s a charming mom and pop operation with very friendly, accommodating staff. The room was very clean, and it had far nicer furniture than any hotel room we’ve stayed in. Our room also had a beautiful view of the mountains to the south off the back.

The room was clean and nicely decorated. The king size bed and pillows were very comfy and cozy. Our room faced a beautiful courtyard and also had a back porch which we sat on and enjoyed a cup of coffee while watching the swallows and enjoying the view of the Davis Mountains. Last night we enjoyed a walk along the stream and watched the turtles by the Cactus Hotel. El Oso Flojo is a wonderful place to stay.

Called in a reservation 24 hours ahead of time with a text confirmation. When I arrive, the low life at the front desk had no recollection of talking with me. Nor did she remember sending a text. So...75 dollars in gas wasted and 8 hours round trip driving lost. DO NOT TAKE A CHANCE OR WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS PLACE. The worst part was offering a room that hasnt been cleaned !!!Nearby activities: State park.

stayed here because we were stuck in a snow storm on the way home back to az. it was very nice and perfect for one night stay. the room smelled clean like pinesol. the bathroom has a heater which is the best for cold weather like this. the courtyard is pretty and we had a little back area. overall the stay was very cozy and comfortable, we had loud neighbors but i slept through it.

Was going to be charged for something that my emotional support service dog didn't do. Accused of chewing the shutters. Told Florinda that those shavings on the floor are from the screw that I took out to open the shutters. Fellow veterans....if you have your service dog, watch out! Florida said she'd send me pics, never did. Cause it was a lie. Take my service dog everywhere. Been to more elegant hotels. Have never had a problem. Saddening.

Very nice motel. Very clean and well up kept. Rain showers were a blessing for me, who's very tall. Staff was helpful, and willing to take extra steps when I told them I'd be arriving very late. Rooms could have been bigger for the price but overall would stay again.

Owner has a counterproductive approach to hospitality. I wrongly assumed that it was alright to show up at 11:00 pm without previous arrangements. Now, I get this is a very small town, and these are mom-and- pop businesses, so I didn't expect anyone waiting for me at a front office. However, once on the phone, the owner wanted to charge me 120.00 dollars for a room in a bare-bones motel in the middle of nowhere, no insult intended. Mind this: only two blocks away there's another motel that charges half of that, taxes included, for similar service; nextdoor bigger town with big-brand hotels is only 45 minutes away, so that's where I spent the night, before coming back to town next day and lodging in another inn, where the price makes sense and the owner is nice to potential customers. I support small businesses, I want to give them my money, just don't disrespect me. Town has a very cozy, tranquil feeling to it, food is great, most of people are nice and friendly, nature is beautiful all around

Very expensive for absolutely no amenities, not even sink soap? No coffee, not even in office. Beware pet charge 30.00 a night? Ridiculously hard to make a reservation. Had to call 3 times to confirm we had one, and then we didn't get what we reserved(2 doubles rather than queen). Horrible TV connection, and no cell service at all. Weird bathroom door provides absutely no privacy whatsoever. This our 3rd stay here. Cute, clean place. Terrible customer service.

$140 per night for 3 nights. No military discount on weekends. Pricey but beautiful hotel & restaurant patio. Loved the shower. Little bird nests everywhere in the courtyard with the birds flying around. Not annoying and was fun to watch. Just wanted better customer service at check in and check out as well as more amenities for the price.FYI beware of tarantulas outside of the hotel on the sidewalk.

The lady at the front desk will tell you the different prices. Our car got broken down near by the town and we need a room to stay, so we called the lodge and she told me the price for the room is $120. But once we got to the lodge, she charged us $150 saying that other rooms are not available when I could clearly see there were empty rooms. So disappointed

Very nice rooms, they have the feel of a master bedroom, extremely cozy. The showers are rainfall shower heads, love. Each room is themed differently. We stay here every time we're in the area. Reasonable prices. There's a restaurant next door, with excellent food & music on the weekends. In my opinion, best hotel in the area!

Nice rooms. This is an older hotel that has been recently updated. The rooms surround a pleasant courtyard. Most rooms appear to have access to a semi-private outdoors seating area. We stayed in a pet friendly room with a king bed and enjoyed it. We would stay here again. I would also return to the attached El Oso restaurant, good food at a reasonable price.

Make sure to get a confirmation of your reservation. I called in early July to make reservations for a weekend in August. The person I spoke with said they were not in the hotel office and asked if they could call me back. I have her my name and number and she called me back an hour later. I made the reservation with her and even picked which rooms would work best for our group, as we needed two rooms. After driving 7 hours to Bahlmorea in early August I was told, by the same women I spoke to while making the reservations, that they did not have a reservation for us. They also did not have availability for the weekend. I even showed her the phone log from the day I made the reservation. She said they had two rooms for the night but that we would have to leave the next morning by 11am. Bahlmorea is a very small town with limited accommodations. We have been going to the state park pool for years to snorkel and scuba dive. I had previously found the lack of online reservations a nice small town feature. With no other availability in town we had to stay for the one night and load up in the morning for the drive to Alpine to find lodging. I was disappointed in not only the disruption to our trip, but the person we were dealing with acted as of I was lying about making reservations and was terse, telling us we could take or leave the one night stay (at $400). I would have been much more accepting if they would have apologized for over booking and the mistake. Good customer service shouldn't go out the window because you have the market cornered. I won't be staying at El Oso Flojo Lodge anymore. I wouldn't tell anyone not to patronize a small family business like this hotel, but please take this as a cautionary tale. Get confirmation of your reservation. I travel a far amount and this was the worst customer service lodging experience I've had.

Great little place to lay your weary head from lengthy hours of travel. It's in the middle of nowhere pretty much, but it had all of the amenities one could need. The room had a heater/air conditioner and a coil type heater in the bathroom which was great because it was quite chilly. It also had vending machines for snacks and sodas. There was also few coffee which, although not the best, worked none- the- less. There is also a restaurant on site, but I cannot comment on it add I left before it opened. There is also a bar within walking distance. Quaint and great I would gladly stay here again!

Pretty place, well maintained. No phone in room, wifi didn't work, stained wash towels. Front desk service was not good and the check in process was rushed. We were originally given the key to a room that had others staying in it. Their restaurant had a nice patio (use mosquito repellent, though, if you sit outside!), music, and good food, but service was slow and food was cold, and the waitress was the same person who had just checked us in at the hotel. She seemed overworked and it seemed that owner/family members were just sitting around letting her do all the work when she clearly needed help. The guy provided us helpful information about the park, though.

Such a cute place to stay. Every room has it's own name and style. Very quiet and peaceful place to spend the weekend with family. The staff was amazing and nice.
