This place was EXCELLENT! We had the lunch special on Wednesday-chicken spaghetti, french bread and salad. Our lunch came with our choice of cookies too-chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, peanut butter were all amazing! Cheesecake and fudge pecan pie were great! Our waitress was sweet, quick and helpful! Will come back!

Food was good. Service sucks sit there for 23 minutes. Watch two people workers walk by you don’t even ask if you want a drink or anything so you have to get up go to your truck in order the food to get anything but the food was good after I had to order it in my truck.

Great sandwiches and their broccoli cheddar soup is awesome! Service was great and the place has a pretty cool history. The prices are a little much, but still worth it, since the place is not a chain and is in a good area. I'd rather support a local establishment like this, with fresh food, than a food chain.

Food: amazing, found nothing I did not like. Their specialty bread is fantastic.Service. Super busy times maybe a bit slow if you expect to be catered to. Refills are available for you to get on your own. Works out great.People: small town personable great people.Atmosphere: repuposed bank building made into soda fountain. Surprisingly delicious! Doesn't look like much walking in but wow the chow is good. We had the mushroom swiss burger and the "Loredo" sandwich. We each also had a Rootbeer Float. The burger was juicy and a little messy lime a real burger should be. The sandwich was crisp and fresh. The staff was incredibly sweet in that small town way we all love. This is a true little Texas gem. Highly recommend you stop by with your best girl or have your Texas Tech daughter meet you here for Dad's lunch.

I was driving through and saw that Friday was fish fry. So I stopped. It came out not looking how I expected, but boy was it delicious! Wonderful catfish. Cooked just right. And the batter they use is quite amazing. Perfectly seasoned. It's hard to find good coleslaw. But theirs was quite good. Everyone knew each other. So my wife and I felt a little bit like outsides, but all is good. Thank you for the great lunch!

I love stopping here when we drive through Ballinger. The food was delicious, hot and fresh! We ordered a burger, Waldorf salad sandwich, and the Rio Grande sandwich and everyone loved their meal. Service was also great! Can't wait to go back.

This place has THE BEST burgers in Ballinger but expect to pay a premium for it.A double bacon cheese burger, though not a regular for me anywhere, with fries and a drink came out to $16. Though the burger was fantastic and cooked really well, its just hard to justify spending that much on a single person for a meal.If it werent for the price I would rate a 5 star

I actually need six stars for this place!! We stopped in at lunchtime on the way through and found a novel menu with creative burgers and sandwiches to fit each of our varied pallets. The service proved responsive and gracious and we really enjoy the quaint atmosphere in the historical building. On the way out, I managed to forget my purse but didn't discover the mishap until three hours up the road and after they had closed. I thought to call the pharmacy down the road who of course knows everyone. They contacted the owners who had found the errant accessory and they were happy to hold it for me and even meet me on my way back through even though they wouldn't be open. These people are good people. They deserve your business.

COOKIE WITH YOUR MEAL....I think notAt first the soda fountain seemed great, I was so delighted that a cookie was included with my meal. When my food was brought out (which was delicious by the way) there was no cookie. So I asked for my cookie...our server proceeded to look at me as though I was insane for asking for my cookie. She said she would check. SHE DID NOT. She also did not care to tell me that I would not receive my cookie. Nor did she discount us for the cookie I did not receive. Point being, if you want a cookie make sure they have them before ordering. Soda fountain....more like SODA BUT NO COOKIE FOUNTAIN. By the way my brother ordered the milk shake and loved it. He didn't get a cookie either.

I walked in to here to place a to go order and was treated so rudely by the wait staff, I can’t believe it! I have never been here and evidently came in the wrong door - which happens to be the front door facing the street. I was not greeted nor guided to the right place to give my order. A couple of servers looked up and didn’t say anything. There’s no signage. I finally figured it out and went through a small hallway and found the front counter. As I waited in line to ask for a menu, a local elderly man & his wife stepped in front of me and instead of acknowledging me first, the girl behind the counter working the cash register completely ignored me and greeted the man, chatted with him and rang him up. She finished and started to walk away when I politely asked for a menu. An employee sitting at the counter on break handed me a menu and the girl behind the counter walked off. Then another girls walked by and I ask her a couple of questions about the menu and she was very snarky with me. I finally made a quick decision, placed my order and before I could finish she assumed I was done! I said, “wait I need to order for my husband,” and she rolled her eyes and before she took off I also asked for 2 fountain drinks, she mumbled and left not even asking or clarifying my order. I wasn’t sure if she took my order or not because she didn’t write it down! I just left— sheeze!!! For a tiny town with a local diner that gets decent reviews I thought it would be way better. Don’t bother to patronize unless you’re a local.Oh yeah, and look at my last name.
