My husband and I (from Kellyville, OK) were taken to Corbett’s when visiting our niece. I was delighted to have the best catfish dinner I’ve had since our go to place closed. Perfect sides, lead by perfect hush puppies were served before the fish and fries. Large fish fillets cooked perfectly. Loved the friendly service by the waitress. Enjoyed talking with one of the cooks and with the owner. Will make sure to visit again when in the area.

For a small town restaurant this was great. We were staying at the really nice RV park next door and went on recommendation of friends. It was prom night in town so we called ahead for a reservation. Our waitress was very friendly and suggested my husband NOT get the AYCE catfish since the meals come with so many sides. He decided on the catfish and shrimp and was very pleased with his choice. The beans and tomato relish were both delicious as well. I chose the blackened catfish and it was also very good. The restaurant is BYOB and they did not charge a corkage fee. If you find yourself in Avinger, Corbett’s is certainly worth a visit!

Great food at an affordable price. This was our second time to eat here and it has been great both times. Brandi has been our waitress both times and has been great. Place is very clean and everyone is very nice. Will definitely be going back.

So I’ve passed this place several times on my way to Baton Rouge and back home to Kansas. Every time I pass it it was always packed so I kept on driving cause I don’t like to wait at restaurants if I don’t have to, I mean who does right? I figured that this place had to be good since it was always packed. This trip my wife flew to Baton Rouge and ride back with me to Kansas so I wanted to stop at Corbett’s with her no matter the wait. We arrived around 4:05 pm and there was no cars in the lot so initially I thought they were closed, we walked up to the door and the sign said they opened at 4:00 pm so we were the first customers. We were served with a smile, seated right away obviously lol. The waitress brought our drinks and two side of beans, hush puppy fries, pickled green tomatoes and coke slaw. I am not a fan of tomatoes but my goodness I LOVED those pickled tomatoes...amazing.I ordered the all you can catfish and my wife ordered the blackened catfish. Both were really good. They originally brought me 6 piece of fish I believe which I was thinking oh yes I will definitely need more. I ate my food which was good and I couldn’t get another round like I had planned. Everything was good. From the service to the food to the scenery and location. I will be timing my trips back from Baton Rouge to try and be at this place at their opening time.

It was our first time to visit and absolutely LOVED IT! We will be back! The Catfish superb! Fries good! Hushpuppies... don't normally eat alot of those but we ate our fair share. Our server was fantastic. She made sure we were good all the time. Quaint, small town, family owned restaurant. The staff is great and the service is excellent. The food is amazing. I had the seafood platter and the gumbo. My wife had the grilled shrimp and the red beans and rice. The slaw is mayo based, way better than mustard based. The beans are good and peppery. The tomato relish is top shelf, even though the chunks are a bit large. The desserts are made from scratch and the selection is amazing. The overall menu isn't huge, which is a grand bonus. It's simple, direct, and not cluttered like many other restaurants' menus.

Well, Well, Well - my wife & I had lunch there today, and we were both blown away. Restaurant is quaint and very clean. Employees all were friendly and attentive. Waitress explained the daily specials thoroughly and then brought our drinks. We then ordered oysters on the half-shell were wonderful. My wife ordered the fried shrimp and I got the fried catfish fillets. Everything rocked! Special shout out to the owner and the cook. And yes our waitress Whitney made our first time there a great experience. We also enjoyed our Italian Cream Cake at home!Can't wait to go back to try the frog legs!!

Food was pretty great. Got the fish plate which filled us up pretty good. Whitney gave us great service and never had us waiting for a thing. Food was out in less than 15 minutes for our group of 10. I'd highly recommend eating here. Btw they do NOT add gratuity to your total.

Poppa Corbett put it to me! I Have Never Had A Steak SO Flavorful and Cooked To Exact Standards. Beans, hush puppies and slaw were basically waiting for us as we were seated. And the lemon pie,Oh My Goodness, It Was LOVE!! Attentive service with a smile and a great attitude is why our waitress deserved the generous tip received. I definitely will pass 5D to go back to Corbett's catfish and more,Way More... These are true Southern Hospitality folks. Thank Yawl So Much For The Best Evening.

So the business website shows "Open Sunday till 3pm." I drive 33 miles, pull up in the parking lot at 2:21 pm Sunday afternoon, October 15th, 2023 just to be told "Our morning rush was over and I decided to close early."From a customer standpoint a business should be open as per the published times.

Would love to give the waitress 5 stars, the food 0. Given all the great reviews, perhaps I arrived on a bad evening, around 7:00. Fries cold. Fish not hot, rubbery and tasted like cardboard. Maybe it was cooked hours earlier. Fried oysters, I think of as grease pops. On the bright side, the gumbo was wonderful as was the beans. Great potential, poor execution.

My wife and I have been to Corbett's a few times in the past, but last night's (July 7, 2022) experience was the worst. Her shrimp was luke warm and my fish tasted like it had been frozen, thawed, frozen, thawed then cooked. It had a very "mealy" taste to it. I told the waitress and the owner about our food. The owner only said that her husband never re-freezes fish. But she gladly took my $55 for our supper. Obviously, customer satisfaction isn't high on their business model. We live in a near by town but won't be back.

This is what makes a little mom and pop restaurant amazing!! The service 100% the food 100% this place is spotless clean 100# the restaurant is from a time back when you knew it was going to be good! I recommend this place 101% The servers are amazing and so are the owners! OH and save room for the homemade German chocolate cake! OMG!!!!!

I was really impressed with the quality of food and service. We have a 4yr old with anaphylactic food allergies, the owner and staff were extremely accommodating and answered all our questions ahead of us coming to the restaurant. It is really hard to eat anywhere where fried food is present due to the egg and milk that is commonly used with fried fish.This is the first time as a family we have ever been able to sit down and confidently eat fried fish without me making it at home. As an avid fisherman and outdoorsman, it nearly brought tears to my eyes. We had a great meal and will definitely be back again!

Very good fish and setup. We got the whole fish and had them cooked "extra crispy".Be aware that they automatically add a 15% gratuity to your bill that we didn't realize until later. We had already left a 20% cash tip on the table. There were only 2 of us.

Great fish and great service! People are always super nice, and super tentative! I never have to worry about having hushpuppies, or fresh fish! Priced right too! Owner comes out and checks occasionally to make sure his customers are happy! Hard to beat an old down-home place to eat such as this!
