I wanted to take a day before I wrote this but honestly I'm really upset and I want to get all of the facts out before I forget them.Made an appointment for a first time visit. Showed up early to said appointment. Receptionist was on phone so couldn't greet me. Person in scrubs came up (African American young lady with I believe nose piercing (?) maybe) asked me my dogs name. No introduction, no greeting- nothing. Told me to put my dog on the scale. Then, demanded me to come into a room. Immediately asked for records in a flat, monotone voice. I explained I had an appointment at Emancipet Friday. She said per Thrive's policy, my pet would have to be vaccinated for rabies. I declined, as I have an existing appointment Friday. I just received this pet yesterday....She went somewhere (I assume to ask doctor) and came back and told me without records, they would have to vaccinate for rabies. I declined yet again and she asked me if I wanted to continue with the appointment or not. I declined and left.I understand policies. What I don't understand is working at a place where you are required to interact with clients/patients with such abysmal human interaction skills.The whole interaction took 8 minutes and left a bad taste in my mouth. The lady was extremely rude, obviously disliked being at work and put the vibe off that she just didn't want to deal with me or my pet (who she didn't even acknowledge the whole time we were there...)I'm sorry Thrive, but do better.

My beautiful bestie was with me for 14 years. She was a patient at Thrive and not once was she nippy or defiant like she had been with other vets. She received so many treats, belly rubs, advice and professional solutions for whatever ailed her to her regular checkups and shots. When my girl passed from a hit and run Thrive gave me room to grieve my loss with no rush and offered me more than I could have thought was possible. She was cremated and put in a beautiful box for her remains that I picked out, her paw print molded with plaster Paris and brochures for support . Thrive did my sweet angel right in life and the hereafter and I couldn't be more grateful for them for their services.Thanks, Thrive.

It was good and cost effective found out some health concerns with my dog they had his name written on the door to our room cute. I didn't like that vet assistant came in without prior explanation and proceeded to exit the room with him said nothing about where she was taking him or why I begain to ask her when my dog started barking at another dog with all the commotion going on she was out the door before I was able to compose myself and ask again.A few minutes later she returned I asked where they had gone and that's when I was told they did the examination and gave him his shot. There was an exam table in the room that she lead us into so I assumed that they would be doing the exam right there with me. Maybe a bit more communication would've helped. When the veterinarian came in the room she was super nice friendly and explained everything in detail answered my questions overall the experience was great.

We moved over from Paz on S 1st and I am so happy we made the switch! We saw Dr. Smithee and our tech was Dani, two really enthusiastic people that cared for my pup as much as I do :) The care was so personalized and streamlined. There is an app and they do all scheduling online (you can do it in person after your appointment too). I am sticking with Thrive because I know I can trust them. Plus they tell you the price before the exam! I got the exam fee waived for our first appointment since it was our first time. In short, Thrive Menchaca is budget friendly, quick, and personal :)

Thrive took excellent care as always of my senior fur baby. ❤️ She had a growth on her lip that needed removal. I was a nervous mom due to prior major surgery last year and her age. The office was great in working through scheduling conflicts, providing estimate and her vet took great care of her. She is doing great! Great team all around.

Terrible experience. They couldn’t care for my 9 year old German shepherd even after they gave her anxiety medication. They wouldn’t help us with her eye drops even though she clearly needs them and is uncomfortable. Not cheaper than any other vet but way worse service. Do not recommend!!!

Just moved to the neighborhood at same time my fur babies were due for the annual check-up and vaccines. Thrive offered quality, caring veterinary care and services for half-price of what I would have paid my previous "designer" vet. I will recommend this place to all my pet parent friends!

I switched from Paz vet on south 1st to thrive in the last few months and I couldn’t be more pleased with my decision!! I have two kitties and and a pup and after several great visits with my pup I decided to switch my kitties over here too! Everyone at this location is super sweet and attentive and work with you and your fur babies needs! Dani is also one of my new favorite vet techs over there! She was very kind, thorough and made sure everything was laid out for me and ready to go! She also was so good at making sure my kitty was as happy as could be. The doctors are truly amazing and more thorough than any other vet I have been to. They truly take the time to sit with you and go over any and all concerns and any questions you have, if anything they make me feel like part of the family!! Thanks for taking such good care of my kitties and my pup to everyone there! Even the girls at the front desk! You all make us feel so happy and stress free when we come to visit! We will see you again soon!!!!!!

My first time at Thrive was a wonderful experience. Everyone was super friendly. I was taken to a room immediately, seen by the tech within 5 minutes, and the vet immediately after my cat was examined. And not to mention the fair pricing. We will definitely return, thanks Thrive team :)

I had the most pleasant experience taking my dog to thrive. There was no wait time. The staff was so friendly and gentle with my dog. I’m use to vets wanting to run every test under the sun when I bring in my dog in for a problem, which cost a fortune. They gave me great advise and didn't need to run all kinds of test. I highly recommend this vet!!!

I recently bought my dog bill to be seen! The staff are very friendly and helpful! Dani was super friendly! She had positive attitude and that is a big plus for me! Dani was a great technician! She is awsome! Bill got 3 treats and got good compliments on his behavior! The doctor vet gave me good advice and made sure I understand everything that was going on. Very knowledgeable and answered all my questions!(Another big plus for me) They are afordable and treat our animals with love and care! I will definitely be back again for any service! 10/10I recommend!

I was originally with another vet and tried Thrive out because mine was completely booked. I was so impressed that I have switched all my pets to Thrive. Their customer service is outstanding and they go above and beyond. What surprises me the most is that every time I show up, even w/o an appointment, that they know my dog and greet him with enthusiasm.

Amazing staff who really care about their patients. My little Cooper was sick, and they did a wonderful job helping him. He had a allergic reaction, and I was in a panic trying to call vet after vet with no luck until I found this urgent care location. The price was affordable, and the care was superb! Cooper was diagnosed and treated quickly. The next day he was so much better, and by day 2, he was back to his spunky self. I can't tell you how appreciative I am for the help with my little dog.

This location seems to never be open. My mom has been trying to take her dogs here and I just tried to take my dog. They sent an email day of my dog’s appointment saying I need to reschedule. My mother has had the same issue

I took my dog here (finally) for his routine check-up since adopting him and they did really great! My dog wasn't nervous or scared (except being weighed) but they helped him relax to get weighed and we were in a room in no time. When they came in to talk to us, they addressed all of our concerns and our dog also got a vaccine and did great during that too! Overall I definitely enjoyed our experience at Thrive!

The care of our problem Child has been above and beyond the call of duty. Dr. Grief has been outstanding as well as loving. The nurses have been fantastic as well and would highly recommend this facility to anyone in need of a good vet.

Our Marshall (Morkie) love his vet from Thrive. We are loyal customer since 2018. I highly recommend this clinic for your pet. Don't forget to get their insurance. $10 a month is nothing. We saved a lot on our dog's medical and dental visits.

Usually have good experiences with routine visits but if your pet is sick don’t expect any urgency or accommodation. I called, was told I was wrong about my own last name, was offered a Tuesday appointment which I accepted only to be told she actually just gave it away, we decided on a Wednesday appointment, I show up and am told that my appointment is actually Thursday. Now we have to figure out how to make that time work because otherwise we would be waiting until next week. Meanwhile my dogs eye have been getting worse as a result of no treatment. The staff I interacted with in person were kind but whoever scheduled my appointment via the phone really dropped the ball.

We’ve been going to this location for a few years now. 2019/20 we had excellent care but something must have happened in 2021/22 for that to change. I don’t think they’ve physically examined my pet once. They just look at him. They gave us doggy advil for his pain, told me x-rays we’re unnecessary even though I had a gut feeling. I took him to Manchaca Village Vet for a second opinion and they gave a full exam, actually got down on the floor to meet him where he was to help curb his nervousness, and got me x-rays. Turns out he has an issue with a disc in his lumbar spin that I was then sent to a specialist to fix. In my two appt with Thrive for this issue, not once did we get to that level of care or diagnosis. I highly recommend Manchaca Village. They’re kind, attentive, and listen to their patients. And I didn’t feel like their prices were unreasonable. Sad to be leaving Thrive.

Took my dog here over a year ago and they recommended pulling a tooth that didn’t need to be removed at all(got another vets opinion) and judged me for using natural flea and tick replacements.Despite all that I gave them another chance for her vaccines. I made an appointment on their website. Day of I was running 5-10 minutes behind (work went long) so I called them to give them the heads up that I was still on the way. Well they wanted to make me reschedule me to another day. So much for :“the most important thing is that your pet gets the care they need. If you’re on a really tight schedule, we do suggest calling ahead... Even so, we’ll try to find a way to work you in so that your pet can be seen”10/10 do NOT recommend. There are plenty of other great vets in the Austin area that are reasonably priced.

I have not been to any Thrive locations yet but after reading some of the reviews I am not sure I want to take my animals there. The one big reason being the responses to people's reviews and concerns. They pretty much had all the same responses from I am guessing the corporate office. Sorry for your experience we have someone looking into your issue if you would like you can contact us at this website. It seems like it was an automated response. Not how I like to do business and sure do not want my pet being treated by a corporate vet clinic. Just my own observations and opinion.

Not happy with there services. Everything i takes my cat to get his nails trim there is always an issue. I give him the medicine just like they asked me too but they keep saying hey cat will not let them cut his nails. I I thought that they would have better knowledge as how to control the pet to just be able to trim his nails. But I feel as if they really don't want to deal with it. So they tell me they can't trim my cat nails. And I also enrolled in the membership plan and they wanted me to pay more. Service is horrible. I will not be taking my pets there anymore.
