One of the worst experiences with a dog grooming place. We've only had this happen one other time in 15 yrs. of groomers in Austin. Other reviews on here seem to comment on the ease of drop off and pick up. Not here. It took them 7 hrs. to even start on my Yorkies. I dropped them off at their suggested time, 8:30am. There were at least 6 dogs that came in after me. I called at 3pm to check on mine. They had not even started on them and said they would be ready by 5pm. For it to take that long to start on mine means that others who came in behind me got groomed first. I called 5 days ago to get an appt. I was told when I walked in it was a Friday so it would be a bit longer. I figured 5 hrs. as oppose to 3 or 4, not 9! My senior Yorkies went 9 hrs. without food. They can do 5 hrs. but longer is not good. I was also asked to send in photos on email of what I desired. I did that. Judging from the cut on my female, no one even looked at them. I asked for a Schnauzer cut and instead she looks like a fox. Overall grooming is fine and female still looks good but why ask if you are not going to do it. I had been to them in the past and had a fine experience. I think they are either severely disorganized or they overbook. I think its both. While owner and staff are nice, their prices have gone up significantly so they need to do a better job with their communication and service. They compensated us with a $20.00 credit off of $200.00. Hardly worth us ever going back.

Such a friendly and professional team! Our cocker spaniel always gets a lovely trim and looks pristine when she's groomed at Plush Pad. They take great care in listening to what cut you want and treating you and your pooch like family! Love this place.

Sandra would accept my 16-yr old female, when no one else would OG ( Orange Girl). She did a beautiful job then and as an 16-old. I told Sandra that she’s now a17-yr-old. I was mistaken,she’s an 18-yr-old (and very important to me). Sharon told me that OG’s skin was fragile—that there might be nicks. There weren’t any skin wounds either time. Sandra/Plush Pads are the only people I will trust OG, or any future pets, to.

I called and simply asked if they do claw cap services for cats. I suddenly get a 5+ minute lecture from, who i assume is the owner, about how cruel and inhumane and awful claw caps are and how she’s “been doing this for 50 years” while i say absolutely nothing on the other line. Lady, I didn’t ask. I asked if you provided the service. If you don’t, great. Lecturing a potential customer is unprofessional.

I claimed a severely matted stray cat from my neighborhood as my own. This beautiful little girl has years of mat on her thick long coat, limiting her movements and ability to go to the bathroom. She was caked with flea poop and frankly, her own poop. After she got her vaccinations, I started the hunt for a groomer willing to take this cat on as a client. The cat was friendly enough, but frankly I was scared of how she would react during the surely hours long job it would take to remove years of disgusting mats (I swear, some were 4 inches tall on her back). I called Plush Pad after being turned down by several other groomers. I explained the situation to the front desk, who asked if I could speak to the owner, bcs taking on such a challenge would be her call. Sandra was so empathetic and understood the severity of the situation. She offered to see us the immediately! Sandra and team were done in an hour, calling me throughout the process to let me know how she was doing. How they would handle her flea problems, that she was doing great. I was so scared how this poor animal would react to being groomed, but this team worked magic to make sure she was comfortable and happy throughout. They sent her home with a catnip mouse, brand new collar and pink bow. I wish I had before pics of the nightmare this poor cat came in with. Little "Lily" is now an inside cat, and loves snuggling under blankets. Sandra truly cares for animals, and I'm so thankful I found them. Thank you to Plush Pad for taking on such a tough job, on extremely short notice, and getting this little girl happy and healthy!!

Plush Pad was great with my almost 16 year old cat. He's stopped grooming regularly due to arthritis. He was groomed professionally once before and did well. However his arthritis has gotten much worse since then and he freaked out during his rear foot nail trim probably because his joints are so stiff. I felt horrible because his behavior was unexpected but the Plush Pad told me they could give it another try if I'm okay giving my cat gabapentin before his visit. I was pleasantly surprised and thankful they were willing to try again. I talked to my vet, put him on arthritis injections and got him a prescription for gabapentin. When I brought him back he did great and they managed to get him super clean and shaved his belly where the fur had started to mat. They showed a lot of care and expertise when dealing with an elderly cat. I like that you can drop off your pet and leave them while at work. Very convenient. My kitty is so much happier being clean again and I'll definitely return to Plush Pad.

One of the best grooming places I’ve gone to here in Austin. Granted, the others have been Petco and Petsmart.... that being said, Plush Pad has given my little havanese fur baby the haircut meant for that breed. They are friendly, knowledgeable and truly take care of your dog/cat. They make it easy for you to do business with them. 10/10 recommend!!

Highly recommend Plush Pad!! I took my 17 year old dog and they were so sweet! They trimmed her nails in the lobby because she was scared to go back and while one groomer was working another came and petted her head!

They were excellent with my mom's pup Maltese mix. My mom has Alzheimer's and her pup was neglected for many months and hadn't been groomed for over a year. Said pup is very anxious, and can be disagreeable because of her high anxiety.They were patient and kind with her (and me). Got her cleaned up and looking brand new 😅 she got a toy for being a first timer and cute pink banana.We'll be back. They were so helpful in this situation and non judgemental. Prices were fair.

I hate taking my cats to get groomed because I worry so much about someone else caring for them but Plush Pad has never let me down. It’s easy for me to schedule an appointment and it’s always a smooth pick up and drop off. We have a skittish boy and a feisty girl but they handle both of them with a lot of care and patience. Thanks for making my kitties and myself feel comfortable!

I st. timer, pet there when they open. 6+ hrs there. Not until after 5+ hrs, after I inquired, why was it taking so long (12lb Pekingese) I was informed , waiting on her to dry. And she was trying to bite. In her 7yrs. never a report of her trying to bite. When I picked her up, I was given medical diagnosis from groomer. If they were more concern for the pet than $$. They should have contacted me at the first sign of an issue. They let her air dry,because she didn't let them blow dry. She loves the warm air on her. Not unless it sounds like a lawnmower.

Had a great first time experience here, the staff was really friendly, detail oriented, and understanding. My dog gets nervous during grooms and they did a fantastic job with him. Highly recommend!

I was worried because of some of the negative reviews I saw on Yelp, but they did a wonderful job with my kitty's first ever grooming appointment. All she needed was a sanitary trim, so she was in and out in just about 10 minutes! They told me she did really well, and she didn't seem overly stressed afterwards. She even got a catnip toy out of it for being a first-time customer. 10/10, would book again.

I have been using Plush Pad for 25 years with multiple dogs. Even before they were at their current location. These are wonderful caring people who get to know you and your pet. Sandra has been there the whole time and you are not dealing with different people all the time. My dog is there about every 6 weeks. I don't know the price comparison to other places but I'm good paying what I pay. It is very rare that I don't get an appointment the day before or the morning that I need the grooming. My rating is true and not inflated of my experience there.

This place saved me. My vet usually did nail trims/sanitary trims for my cat but they were closed and she was getting a mess. She's a little difficult and so I was worried if they could do it but they did both with ease. They also gave me some good advice. I was in and out in under 20 minutes. 100% would recommend. Friendly, personable, and great with cats!

Today was Homer's first visit to Plush Pad. Homer was really anxious and nervous upon his arrival, but the staff was really patient! I gave them a call to ask how Homer was doing and they responded promptly. I was worried that Homer would be anxious or aggressive afterwards, but he seemed very happy and playful when I picked him up! They did exactly what I asked for and Homer did not seem to have any scratches or cuts. He looks so great! They also gave us a toy for Homer and put around his neck a really cute bandana!!! The people I interacted with were very nice and clear about instruction. The price was very fair. This is a wonderful place with absolutely professional and kind people; Homer and I will definitely come back. I highly recommend it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So they were really nice and allowed us to walk in on a Saturday with 2 Yorkies. We probably should have made an appointment. They were pretty choppy looking, not sure if nails we're trimmed, pretty certain that glands were not expressed either. It's took several hours. And was VERY VERY expensive. Never paid this much in any place I have lived. However, the dogs were very calm when we got them back. But it was a very long day. We even called them at one point to see if we needed to come by to give them a potty break. They offered to walk them for us. They are very friendly and I recommend making an appointment. It's very pricey, paid almost $200 (with tip) for have 2 small Yorkies groomed. Their ears weren't tipped either (no big deal I just think it's cute).

I have a 9 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel that has been groomed many times by other groomers in town and was always disappointed. I decided to try Plush Pad, and was surprised at the cost, but when they brought him out to me he looked beautiful. It was the best groom ever. I decided I don't mind that they're more expensive because it was well worth it. Also, I don't like to leave my dog in a cage, so they let me make an appointment and he was in and out in 2 hours. They charged extra for this service, but it was worth it to me. Plush Pad is now my official groomer!

I loved many aspects of this grooming service: got me a next-day appointment, did a fantastic job making my puppy (Goldndoodle) look great (and he didn't show the slightest sign of being stressed by his first grooming), and the price was reflective of the tedious work involved. Sandra was so caring and patient. I will return and highly recommend this professional staff.
