The people are friendly, but overall management and services extremely poor considering the cost.Have taken my dog there on occasion and the grooming was poorly done. But I still went back because it was convenient.Last time my dog was there all day and they needed extra time because of another dog that gave them issues. But I couldn’t give the extra time because I had dinner plans. Despite not providing the services or grooming I ordered and the late pick up (almost 7pm), they still charged me the full amount.I tried scheduling a grooming today; booked online, got confirm email, got confirm text the day of. I show up and no one was there, it was locked and closed. I waited 15 minutes and still no one showed up.Things keep stacking up, so at this point I’ll stop going. And probably would not recommend this place to anyone.

Wonderful experience for my Morkie and me! The team is friendly and scheduling is online and easy. Not to mention that they’re reasonably priced. The only (very minor) item worth mentioning is parking. I parked across the street in a neighborhood and walked over using the crosswalk (<5 min walk). Overall, I highly recommend Dog Zen - Paw’s Spa!

Alex took good care of my boy, he looks great.The staff here are very friendly I feel comfortable leaving my pup in their care. They also took time to make sure they had a little play time with him while they were waiting for me to pick him up. Very happy with the service.

this place is fabulous! they are professional, courteous, very accommodating, and my notoriously difficult dog was no problem for them! not by a long shot. and i could not believe how reasonable/low the cost was. it left me able to tip better! i very highly recommend this place for all ur dogs grooming needs

Can’t recommend this place enough if you have an anxious dog! They always do a wonderful job on the grooming while taking the time to keep our little guy calm. Also love that they are reasonably priced and easy to book with online.

I sadly have to give a 1- star. I tried reaching out via phone and email but no response from a manager to make it right.Although the staff was extremely friendly, we were so disappointed in the grooming. They told us 4-5 hours which we know good things take time. We waited until 4.5 hours elapsed and no call. I attempted to call 4x but never got through. After 5 hours had passed, we made our way back bc now we were worried.Once there, they said our dog would be ready in a few minutes. We took her and paid. But looking at her when we got home, her grooming was not up to par. She basically looked the same as how we took her in. Her ears were still dirty and you can clearly still see fur that should be removed while “deshedded”.

I had been searching for a professional groomer for my boy, Saint (black tri MAS) for a VERY long time. Past groomers would confuse him for a corgi and butcher his beautiful coat regardless of instructions. Very last groomer (groomingdales), left my boy traumatized!!! It was upsetting to hear he had nipped someone (which he had never before in 2+ years of getting professionally groomed), and he was so stressed due to the wild/rowdy environment of having dogs loose everywhere. As someone who works in the pet industry, I was disgusted. I doubted I could find the perfect place. I MIRACULOUSLY discovered Dog’s Zen Paw Spa & they took AMAZING care of my boy, Saint. On top of that, they were so loving to my foster boy, Zeta who had his first professional grooming ever! Saint was so nervous given his previous experience, and they were so detailed + included a Pawgress report + pic of my boy’s performance. I felt a bit discouraged as Saint showed some stressful behavior, but the staff went above and beyond with me. Saint looks stunning for his birthday party, and Zeta smells like a million bucks! Very professional, and I will definitely be taking my pups again.

Super friendly people. I’ve had three great experiences here. I tried to leave decent tips everytime and did my part to support by telling my friends about Dog Zen.Unfortunately, ever since they relocated their management has been consistently dropping the ball.I’ve tried twice to get my dog groomed. I made two appointments and each time they aren’t able to even take my dog. Last straw was their employee kept me waiting for 30 minutes and ended up not showing up and not telling me they weren’t coming.Later they offered a free groom but, what’s the point of a “free” groom if I can’t depend on the business to be open and operating?I am upset I took time off work twice trying to get my dog groomed.Not dependable.

I didn't realize they were giving him treats! I monitor my Jasper's intake and he got sick or upset stomach after eating their treats.The grooming was great and I just have a note for them not to give him treats unless I've purchased them.

We have had our Yorkie and shihtzu groomed here about half a dozen times. The staff is very friendly. However, I noticed that when I would get the dogs back, sometimes they would still have some eye crust or the gunk in their beards. Before a grooming session, I specifically requested special attention to the eye gunk be removed, but didn’t seem to make a difference. Immediately after a grooming, I politely pointed out some gunk under the beard and around the mouth, and the groomer said that happens when they drool. I live very very close to the building, so for that gunk to build up immediately after a grooming is a little suspect. To be fair, Shih Tzu’s are notorious for having a lot of buildup in the eye area, whenever I clean it out myself, it will take at least a good 5 to 10 minutes. I have him groomed often to cut back on the fur around the eyes to make it more manageable to deal with, but it seems like a very rushed bath. The hair cut is usually cute, but I want a place that is thorough all the way around.Another thing to note is, I have picked up my dogs, and once or twice they have rushed to the front of the building when I get there. This is not an issue for one of my dogs, but the other dog is a total runner, and could have easily gotten out and wound up running down 12th street.Lastly, they can be inconsistent with the time it takes to groom. Sometimes it’s 2 hours and has been up to 6 hours, which may be due to being short staffed or something, but just know this if you are trying to make plans around it.

I did not have a good experience here and won’t be coming back. First things first, i should’ve listened to my gut after the website asks for minimal information online in order to book. They didn’t even ask for an updated shot record or if they are on flea/tick meds. That was the first red flag. However I gave them the benefit of the doubt, thinking they may ask me for it when i come in. I brought my two small dogs in for a groom. One of my dogs is just a puppy and I gave them a heads up that it was his first time at the groomer, only for them to take a full 7 hours to get the job done (one needed a full groom and the other only a bath and nail trim). They told me 4-5 hours when I dropped them off, and after 5.5 hours I decided to call for an update. Even PetSmart would call me and let me know if a grooming was going to take longer than expected. To me, leaving my 8 month old puppy at the groomer for 7 hours with no update is unacceptable. Not only that, but my shih tzu came back looking the exact same as how I dropped him off, and I even gave specific instructions for how I like his face to be trimmed.. Not like she could hear me say anything with how loud the space is. I have included a photo of what he looked like when we got back home. While checking out another customer came in to pickup her (probably 6 pound tiny) puppy who had been there for 6 hours and they charged her over $100. She asked for a price breakdown considering how expensive that is and the employee immediately took the price down to $85. For a tiny tiny puppy. I don’t mind spending over what I used to be charged at PetSmart for a local groomer, that’s less busy and does their job extremely well, however that is definitely not the case here. Since pricing is not available on their website, I was charged $85 for my dog (after having paid close attention to the last customer) and $35 for the puppy (bath and nail trim). I called after getting home and realizing the grooming job was bad and asked for a partial refund considering he didn’t look any different. She said i could bring him back in (as if 7 hours wasn’t long enough). I of course said no and asked again for a refund and she said she would call me back. If they had made good with me on the price, I wouldn’t be posting this review because i could overlook the long wait time if it happened to have been a busy day. Buyer beware.

Chris, Lisa, and Teddy extended kind, caring, patient, polite, and perfectly wonderful customer service to my puppy standard poodle and me. Lisa is an exceptional groomer; I’ve owned six standards in the last eighteen years and I know the best when I see their finished work. Also, Lisa knows how to love a dog through a grooming. Wonderful place with the kindest and most patient groomers - Stephanie has always treated our pup with so much love, care and patience despite my pup’s tendency to lick shears and be scared of the blowdryer. The results are always fantastic too and she always comes back smelling fresh and clean. Love the complimentary ribbon and doggie treats as well! Highly recommend Dog’s Zen!

I wanted to like this place because it was conveniently locating but I will never ever go back. The worst thing is that my 10lb dog came home with a 1 inch cut on his leg (pictured) and no one at the place told me ahead of time how it got there, I found it once I was home. When I went to pick up my dog there was another dog there that was crying so loudly I could hear it from outside and while I couldn’t see past the curtain, I didn’t hear a single kind anecdote spoken to the dog as he yelped while being groomed. Lastly, I was told the price would be $70 and it was $97 when I checked out.So so disappointed in this place and please find somewhere else that knows how to work with dogs in a kind manner!

First time using Dog's Zen and loved it! Ruby hates baths and getting her nails cut but the groomer made an amazing connecting with her and I felt good dropping her off. She came back clean, happy, and with they even put on a super cute bandana on her. We'll definitely be back!

We went to Dog Zen for the first time yesterday for our 8 month old chihuahua/pug/poodle mix, Knox. He is a pretty anxious pup, so we searched around for a place that specializes in pup anxiety! Dog Zen is it! Not only did he come out more handsome than ever, but he wasn’t shaking with anxiety! They even gave us the tasty treats that Knox didn’t want to eat during his grooming so that he can eat them later! They really care about their dogs, and the very obviously love their jobs. Also, because of Knox’s mixes, he sheds A LOT. They did a deshedding treatment as well, and there’s a noticeable difference in his shedding! We can’t wait to go back! The report card was soooooo cute and my favorite thing! Here’s a before and after picture of him, and his report card!

Update: the owner just gave me a call and he was super sweet! First, there is something wrong with their system. So if the quote seems super high, then that is probably not the real price! Feel free to call them to confirm, or they can adjust it when you drop off your pet.Also, for those of you who were clients at the E 12th street location, they will definitely honor the same pricing as before. Just book online (no matter what the quote is), and then they will adjust the price when you drop of your pup.I really appreciated that call! So my below review is no longer correct.-----I used to go here when they were on E 12th street and I loved them, but since they moved the E 7th Street they have doubled their prices. How are they even getting any clients at $170 for a grooming? That is $70 more than their old prices!?!

This was our first time visiting dogszen. My dog Joey was very nervous going in and when I went to pick him up , he was very happy. They did a really good job for two big doggies! Joey is very introverted and loves his space but I can tell he had a great time. As far as Tucker, out GSD, he had the time of his life. We will be repeat customers.

Stephanie was amazing! She mentioned to me she has 15+ years experience with grooming dogs, so even though my dog gets very anxious, Stephanie was patient and helped keep her calm the entire time she was with her.10/10 experience, and I know Subie (my dog) can't wait to go back!

Nalla loves her spaw day's. She gets so excited now to go to the groomers. When she went to Petco she would pull and tug trying to get away. She hated going. Now she gets excited and goes right up to the door and runs right in. She is HAPPY and always comes out looking so adorable. Today feathers, a skull bandana with a smile ear to ear.

Worse service in my life. The ops manager lied to us and tried to give us another dog. They had the dog for over 5 hours and provided no services. I can keep going. But I would RUN from this place. RUN!!!
