This store has a very convenient location. However, we couldn’t get a service receipt which we need to get refund from our wellness plan. After I insisted, she asked my email address and said would email me one but I still haven’t received until the second day.I also hope the owner will offer bigger towels for bigger dogs which will be more convenient for the customers.

I will never take my dog back to this specific location. I had my dog groomed this past Friday (10/7/22) and after getting him home found nicks and razor burn all over his private and even his face. He can barely walk or stand up, let alone go outside. I called the shop on Saturday (10/8/22) and talked to the groomer who acted like it was normal for these types of injuries to be a result of grooming, yet I never had these issues at the South Lamar location once. My dog will probably never trust another groomer as a result and this experience has ruined grooming for him altogether. If the groomer didn't know what they were doing they should have stopped and if my dog wasn't cooperating they should have also stopped and called me, but neither of those concerns were brought up on the phone I had with the groomer on Saturday (10/8/22). Absolutely horrible experience and will never come back or refer anyone to this business as a whole as a result. Even with the good grooming experiences I've had in the past with the South Lamar locations, it was still a horrible experience in terms of customer service. The layout of the grooming locations are awful, they are always understaffed and it takes forever for anyone to come to the front to receive your dog, and the groomers are hidden in the back in what appears to be a low quality property. These are now allred flags I should have avoided but since the prior services were never this monumentally bad I overlooked them, but I would rather future costumers didn't have the same experience if possible.

I’ve used Dirty Dog at this location three times now and have been consistently impressed with the quality of service they provide! Having a dog with long hair can be nerve wrecking when it comes to new groomers but Dirty Dog has always done well. The grooming appointment took ~6 hours between drop off and pick up and was well worth the wait. I am very pleased and thankful for the service and their wonderful groomers. My pup always comes out in a positive and happy mood so I trust that they treat him well.

Nice people, and a facility that works and doesn't stink. All one needs for self washing. Their groomers did a very impressive job on two Australian shepherds.

I am very displeased with this service. I have a furry dog who needed her undercoat brushed out. It wasn't a small task and that's why I brought her to professionals. She was returned to me with very little difference than when I dropped her off. There was no communication to me as to any difficulties or discomfort she might have had as an explanation to why the job was incomplete. After mentioning my displeasure, the person at the front desk, who seemingly had no real insight into this specific grooming outcome, replied to me with a standard reply of "we can't get everything, you need to brush her regularly at home". I do, and I do a better job than this even when not purposed to brushing out the undercoat. I can run my hand through her coat and easily lift up small mats that could have comfortably been removed during the brushing/grooming process. I suspect they will only spend a specific amount of time brushing regardless of the thoroughness--also not communicated to me and a problem will large long-haired breeds. It cost over $100 for this and I am extremely displeased. I do not recommend this service.Update: Jasmine from Dirty Dog reached out to me to communicate that my experience is not a common experience and asked if they could have an opportunity to demonstrate greater attention to my pet. I returned several months later and was pleased with the final grooming. It took a couple tries (as a large dog would require), but it seemed my pet enjoyed being properly brushed in the Austin summer weather. I'll be returning again next time. I'm increasing from a one star to a four star.

They said my Dog had a grooming but I don't notice any difference from before she got dropped off - seems like they forgot to clean her or accidentally cleaned some other dog and forgot about my dog?!. Ears and back of body was clearly not paid attention to (there is plenty of matted hair), I don't smell any shampoo that was used. Also, dog was clearly not brushed. Picture is of hair in brush after TWO strokes! My dog is a Labradoodle with minimal shedding.

I dropped both my dogs off for a quick wash today and it was a good experience.I hung out in my car while I waited and they got the baths done pretty fast. Both dogs looked great.

I like this place for self-service grooming, but it is frustrating when I go there during their opening hours, and they are not open. I went there to day at 2pm on Saturday and no one was there. They are supposed to be open 12-6pm.The annoying thing is they actually have a sign that says "the door bell does not work, so knock hard or call". I do not usually bring my phone when I'm about to bath my dog, so I first knocked on the door as hard as I could for about 5 mins, before going back to get my phone. When I finally called them, there was no answer, twice. So not only were they not open when they were supposed to be, their signage made me waste 7 mins trying to get their attention when they were not even there.This is the 2nd time in 2 years this has happened, and I only go there about 5 times a year, which means about 20% of the time they are not open when they are supposed to be. Not exactly reliable.This is for the Guadalupe location only.

Our normal groomer was booked out over a month and we decided to give Dirty Dog groomers a shot. What a mistake. They state on their website that if you can't pick up your dog quickly you should reschedule for when you can. We went ahead and made a 9am appointment and were told dogs will be ready at 1pm. I cleared my schedule to ensure I could quickly pick up the dogs as requested. I call at 130 and they said one more hour. I show up 1 1/2 later and the dogs are still not ready and to boot my minature schnauzer who is 12 got completely shaved going into the winter! I had asked for a schnauzer cut and specifically said to leave the skirt long to keep her warm. They ignored my request and shaved her down leaving her with no fur. On top of that there attitude was. "We will make a note of it" Here are some pics of a schnauzer cut. The legs and belly stay long and the back and head are shaved.

Awesome handy place, so glad I found it to wash and groom my anxious dog myself. Self-serve a much more affordable option than the groomer, and she was much less traumatized than when someone else handles her!

Today was my first visit here with my cocker spaniel. I can be picky about groomers and want my dog groomed a certain way. The groomers at Dirty Dog did an awesome job! They were very nice and professional. I asked for a breed specific haircut and told them how I wanted his face/ears trimmed (some fur left on his head, with his ears trimmed, and with a medium length skirt). He looks great and smells great too.

I called Dirty Dog at the location in south Austin. I warned them about my dogs aggressive behavior. They were extremely nice in helping me find the right groomer and referred me to Autum (I know I misspelled her name), which is this location. She was so nice and really caring of my dog. Unfortunately she couldn’t help him but didn’t give up on him. She recommended us with a couple of things and said that she will be happy to try again. I love her for that! I highly recommend this place! Not everyone tries again after getting bit:)

The self serve is the best. 10/10 recommend. My only issue is I went last week for a bath (which includes a lot) by someone else since the self serve was not available and it looked like they just washed her and let her air dry. Her ears were dirty, she smelled good but was not the fluffy dog that I have received back in the past. I was very disappointed. I will come back for the self serve but not for any other service.

Brilliant! The wash tubs are raised so you don't hurt your back bending over. The water is always just the right temperature. There's a short, adjustable tie-up to keep anxious pups from jumping out. Shampoo, brushes, ear wash, plenty of dry towels, and blow dryer are all included. And best of all, your best friend gets to be with YOU rather than someone they don't know. All for much less than you'd pay at the groomer's.

Dirty Dog and groomer Jackie came to the rescue with my 14 year old cockapoo. Made the mistake of trying out one of the Big Box groomers (rhymes with Letgo) and they refused to groom her due to her age and "nervousness." I've been a customer and fan of Dirty Dog for over a decade, and I vow never to go anywhere else. The staff (especially at the Guadalupe location) is professional and only wants the best experience for you and your dog. I would give 10 stars if I could. Many thanks yet again.

Friendly staff and a lot off upgrade options with shampoo, conditioner, etc. Only issue I have is that the tubs are against the wall, not walk around. I have an older large dog so it's tough to get him to turn around while washing him. Other than that the place is great.

I have a high stress dog. This is the best place to take her for nails. They are affordable and most importantly they are dog people themselves and care about both the two and four legged clients. Dogs can tell that sort of thing. Will be back as always.

As my first experience taking my doggie to somewhere else besides Petsmart to get groomed literally the WORST PLACE TO TAKE YOUR DOG! just be careful taking your dogs here! They did the worst job grooming my dog whenever calling to complain they literally dodged my calls ONLY to give me half of my money back even though they are supposed to be “ professionals “ yet can’t even do a simple shave off.....literally a few days later I noticed my dog had RINGWORMS! She’s has never had these before yet whenever I decide to finally take her somewhere else she gets them! BEWARE worst experience EVER if there could be no stars I would have picked that option rather than one! Now I have to take my dog to the vet and pay for her medical expenses guess they really aren’t professionals since they can even provide a clean environment for peoples pups....

I highly discourage ANYONE to take their dog to DIRTY DOG. They mistreated my dog by burning the inside of both of her ears and her hind legs with a hot razor. Two vet visits later she is still healing after a week of medicine and shots. After speaking to the owner on the phone, all she had to say was sorry and offer a credit to the store. She couldn't seem to fathom why I wouldn't want to take my dog there again. If you care for your dog I suggest you find a more compassionate groomer.

Dirty Dog is a great idea and great option for people who don't have the tools to wash their dog at home. A regular stand-up shower just won't do. The price is reasonable and they provide the tub, water, hose, towels, brushes, shampoo, and other items, and then take care of the clean-up.

DIRTY DOG DONE GONE TO THE DOGS !!been going & bathing my bath un-friendly aussie/healer since the shop on so. 1st opened. another dog since they opened on lamar. have loved it for years & sent scores of people. today ... ugh !!! the "shampoo" so watered down i could not get my dog clean. tried 2 times. no luck. was just water ... no soap. the guy was GREAT !! loved him & he was so sorry, but with what was provided, a clean dog was not possible. WILL NEVER GO BACK. THANK GOD THEY HAVE COMPETITION !!! looks like greed finally got the best of the owner ... oh well !! too bad for them. too good for the competition. they used to treat their customers so well ... really appreciated. now ... obvious they don't care. adios, dirty dog ...

First visit here. They have everything you need and even aprons to keep you dry. Staff was extremely helpful. The dog cologne and the ear wash was a nice touch.
