Our girl came to us a matted flea riddled pup who’d been abandoned in a field. After a vet trip or three getting her treated for fleas and her shots we knew she was in dire need of a groom. Clean Critters to the rescue! I was pretty sure she’d be shaved down, no real “style” due 100% to the amount of matting she had (and the fact that I had tried to bathe her myself😱). When they brought Willimena out I could not believe how beautiful she looked, sure her hair was short, as expected, but she had style! Would definitely recommend 10/10 for customer service, skill and communication. I would advise to pre-book your next groom at pick up to ensure getting in when you want, they’re busy and for good reason!

We've been taking our dog to Clean Critters for years and they always do such a great job! It's clear they care about the pups and make sure to be as sweet to them as possible. Our pup always gets compliments on his haircut even as it grows out! 😊

We love taking Presley to Clean Critters and she loves it just as much! Not only do they do an amazing job at any cut/style we ask for but Presley always comes back super happy and doesn’t want to leave. She is a standard poodle and they do an exceptional job with her!

My dog love them , they cleaned off her mid summer coat , and she felt marvelous, I would choose them again .6 months later she was so happy to see where we were putting her paw on the car door handle to go in to clean critters, never has she ever wanted to go in to a groomers like she does here,they get her choice awards.I'm so thankful for people who have gentle eyes and tender hands for my girl . They care and know she's my kidA 100 lb German Shepard.. even though she Bern blowing her coat halfway through shaggy and nails needed a trim.. she's looked at with love, and I got you girl... how much and I let yall the reader know my gratefulness to clean critters and the kind hearts there talking care of all our babies.Sharing my joy

I love Rocko's haircut! His wispy little hairs always get knots in them and he hates the wispy hairs being brushed. It's so much nicer with him shaved down! AND THEIR FEET look AMAZING!! You guys did A++ on their claws and foot hair!!He's not slipping and sliding on the floors anymore!This is the best dang groomers I know <3 <3

I resisted writing a review, but we’ve had two poor experiences here.In May 2019 we brought our golden retriever for a full bath/groom & he returned excessively licking his privates, in looking at the area it was red & irritated. Upon providing the feedback via email, we received a prompt response stating a sanitary shave is included in all of the full groom services and sometimes this can cause a little irritation if a dog is not used to the sensation, which in turn makes them want to lick the area. They responded quickly & offered a free bath, which we passed on. While it wasn’t the end of the world, it was clearly bothersome to our dog so we decided not to return to this location as we never had grooming issues before.A few weeks ago, I decided to give this location another try as it’s local & down the street. So we took our same, now 9 1/2 year old golden to be groomed, upon returning home I noticed his ears were trimmed a little funny. Thinking it simply looked odd, I left it alone. While petting him in that area I noticed there was an adhesive / glue like product on the side of his ear. Upon looking more there were cuts.This area has since been irritating him & he’s been scratching at it, resulting in more bleeding. We brought him into our vet & the vet stated this may lead to an infection & had to shave the area below our dog’s ear.Upon providing the feedback to the groomer via email, Kevin left a voicemail stating it’s likely irritation from brushing; & our dog wasn’t cut + they’d never use adhesive & they “definitely didn’t glue the dog back together.”At this point, there is no point in additional interaction nor conversation with this shop. Our 9 1/2 year old golden has been groomed throughout his entire life & the only location we’ve ever had issues at is here. It’s unfortunate as we wanted to support this local spot, but we left with poor experiences each time, given our experience - this is not a place I’d recommend.

My pup Kai has only ever been groomed by the Clean Critters team in Austin - it's been over four years since our first visit! Kai is typically anxious but is always excited to see his friends at the groomer (I don't get the same reaction at home lol). He's a large dog with a double coat and I know he's in great hands with Jennifer - the de-shedding add on is a must!!Drop off/pick up is even easier at their new location on 7th. I appreciate the early morning availability which makes drop off before work very convenient. Definitely recommend Clean Critters! Always a great experience and they treat Kai like family.

We have been taking our pups here to get their nails trimmed and ears cleaned every 2 weeks since they opened and we could not be more thrilled with the team and service (handkerchiefs are such a sweet touch!). We took my parents dog Nina to Clean Critters, and it was such a pleasant experience.Jen starts it off wonderfully, with super courteous, clear and professional communication. Any question you may have, she'll answer.We have taken Nina to several places before, and one of the latest ones she ended up acting super weird for about two weeks after, almost as if she was mistreated.Never have I seen her before go back to the groomers licking them and jumping all over them after a groom like she did at Clean Critters.I can't recommend this place enough! Thank you for an all around great experience!

Clean critters has been grooming our two poodle mixes for the last four years, we love them. The dogs always come back cute and happy, and don’t seem to get scared at all about going, so they must be treating them well while they’re there!

UPDATE: the owner of Clean Critters has reached out to both myself and my girlfriend. She explained that there was miscommunication between what was asked for when our dog was dropped off. Somehow the right message did not get through. It’s unfortunate that our dog won’t look like how we like her to look for some time but I really appreciate that she cared enough to follow up and explain what happened. It means a lot to me as a customer and a dog owner and I can see us bringing her back to Clean Critters in the future now that we better understand the necessity of being clear in what we request.And for what it’s worth the cut our pup received was done well, even if it’s not what we wanted, and she’s still very cute.TLDR - They buzzed all the fur off of our dog without asking our approval and against what we had asked for when we dropped her off.We had an unfortunate experience the first time that we took our dog to Clean Critters. Our dog is an aussie-doodle and a little fluff ball. We really like her fluffiness but she was in desperate need for a trim. We asked that they bring down her coat a bit and clean up her face so she can see. And we also said the cliché "don't make her look like a poodle" thing.Expecting to have a more cleaned up version of our dog, when we picked up our puppy she looked like a completely different dog. They had buzzed her entire body and all of her fur was gone. When we called later asking what happened they said that that is what we asked for. It's not.We were really upset. Our dog was really upset and unhappy for the next two days before getting back to her normal self. Our dog is only 7 months old and her puppy coat is now gone. It will be at least a few months before she looks like herself again.Some objective thoughts -Is it possible that we actually did tell them that we want them to buzz her body and make her look like a goofy looking poodle? Absolutely not. Is it possible that there was just a mix up of communication? Maybe...? Perhaps we indicated what we wanted incorrectly.What do I think actually happened? I think that our dog went in there and her cut was more difficult than anticipated. Her fur was probably a little matted and we had taken her to the park the day before and she likely had some burs in her fur that we missed when combing her out. This was also following the winter storm that crippled Texas for a week. I think what happened is that our dog's cut was more difficult than anticipated, they had a ton of other dogs they needed to get to because of backed up appointments from the storm, and they just decided to buzz her and not deal with it the way we asked. That's my hypothesis at least. If that's true then I'm very disappointed that they didn't call us to ask if that was okay or at least inform us what was happening. Another potential reason this happened is because they just got the order wrong. Who knows. But it's not what we asked for and we won't be going back to them.

I absolutely LOVE Clean Critters! They are always so sweet and excited when my dog and I walk through the door. And what's even better, my dog happily walks in. Previously, I had to beg her to go into a groomer or even get a bath. Clean Critters is also cheaper than anywhere else I've taken her, but to be fair my dog is big and has a lot of hair. We've never had a bad experience and my dog always comes home looking gorgeous! I will always recommend them! The before and after really shows the difference.

My husband and found clean critters 5 yrs ago when we lived downtown. We absolutely love taking our Tibetan spaniel here for grooming! So much that we travel from Parmer & 620 to take our pup here for services. They are always polite and provide and excellent service!

Very friendly and caring staff. They were able to get me in the next day for a quick nail trim. I’ve struggled to find a place that offers an affordable nail trim with no other services since moving from the Midwest. They got our dogs nails so short without cutting him and there weren’t any sharp edges like some places will do. We will definitely be back!

The owner of the shop, Kevin, yelled at me and at my veterinary staff after seeing proof about a wound found on my dog’s skin after a groom. They assumed no responsibility and resorted to extreme disrespect, yelling in my face in an enraged and disrespectful manner while also disrespecting my veterinarian and their staff. Besides this, my dog has been nervous and anxious since leaving the shop… which by reading further reviews only confirms the type of treatment these animals receive at Clean Critters. Please keep your loved animals away ❤️

Kevin, the owner of the shop, has anger issues and verbally abused me after bringing up an issue with the way they groomed my labradoodle. My dog has been nervous since. As no surprise, there are other similar complaints in the reviews of bad customer service and pets developing traumas after visiting this facility. Please keep your pets away.

I am applaud at the service that was provided for my friends dog. Kevin cut my friends dog Calú and knicked him pretty badly. My friend proceeded to ask Kevin about what happened and was met with nothing but verbal abuse, a trip to the vet, and out $400. That is not how you treat a customer who is paying for a service where you hurt their animal.

I took my dog here for a nail trimming and he left severely traumatized to the point where not even the vet is able to cut his nails under medication now. I didn't realize at the time the extent of the damage they had done but I knew my dog was not acting normal after. These people are not professionals and not to be trusted.

I’d caution against bringing your pet here. There’s no situation that justifies verbally abusing your customers or their veterinarians. The lack of empathy, professionalism, and decency exhibited by the owner to my friend, in a situation that resulted from an injury to his dog that required medical treatment while in their care, is disgusting and not okay.

Jen, Kevin and the entire Clean Critters team are extremely welcoming whenever we come in - to the point where our dog now sprints in through the door!They've always been accommodating with our schedules and quick during appointments.
