I love this store! They have everything from farm animal stuff to kitchen decor. Horses, goats, pigs, rabbits, chickens, and dog stuff. I'm sure I'm missing some animals but they really carry it all. Plumbing items, tools, bolts, nuts, clothing, boots, hats, yard decor, kitchen decor, candles, honey and even plants! Stop by to pet the animals and just look around.

This is a really cool country store. The staff knows their stuff and the prices are great. Fun to stop in or to stick your farm. Boots to animals. Pigs, chickens, rabbits and goats.

It's a fun store but pay attention at the cash register. Today the lady at the register tried to charge me, insisted the wrong price and corrected it only after I asked for the boss (who told me 5 min. ago what the correct price was).

Omg I absolutely love this place. In fact, I am addicted. Everyone is so friendly and knowledgeable in the store. I get very excited every time they get their new inventory. I was always greeted with a firm handshake at the store front and the ambience in the store is so cozy. The animals are kept in stellar condition and are happy and thriving. I also love the big warehouse in the back. The selection is huge and everything looks so adorable!Most importantly, Ayden and Mike are the best! They give out very amazing and honest recommendations. True experts with five shining stars! I started off by having five chicks from them and now they are proud mamas laying beautiful eggs! Really love my feather babies and the eggs taste amazing! I love Callahan. This is my go-to store and my best friend on my chicken journey! So bless to have this store here in Austin. Highly highly recommend! Thanks everyone at Callahan! You all are so great!!! :)

I shop at Callahan's because of the employees. I always have a great experience when I go there. Callahan's is a true General Store. Everything you need for your ranch and out door fun. I hope that atmosphere never goes away. Love you guy's and girl's. Hat off to all of you

This store is so awesome!! All of the staff, including Charlie, the young man at the feed register, and the young blond cashier lady (I forgot to get their names) were exceptionally friendly and helpful. This store also has everything from farming equipment, soils, hardware, clothing, feed, kitchen appliances, and more. I'd much rather come here than Home Depot or Lowes any day for all of my gardening needs.

Such an awesome business and is what built Austin. They are the backbone of the Montopolis community of Austin, Texas. If you are a animal and country western lover, this place is fabulous!! It is even a tourist attraction. Our grandchildren beg to stop when they know we are close by. They are also hard to drag away from there.

Summary: A super neat experience with tons of inventory and friendly people.The details:Nestled in the ranch lands of South east Austin is one gem of a hardware, tack, farm and ranch store. On Saturdays livestock greets you at the door with live music inside the storeThe reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is simply because of the prices. You can get a lot of the stuff elsewhere slightly cheaper however you would be challenged to find some of the products anywhere else as they really have some truly unique items.The staff is very friendly and helpful and the place is very kid friendly. It's obvious that they welcomefamilies.Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.

All the chickens I got here were sick and stressed. Had watery, mucus, bloody stool. Pasty butt. Possible coccidia. Some of the hen look like it was egg bound. 1 was laying there not moving around. A few missing a bunch of feathers. Not sure if molting or what. But definitely need better living conditions as some of the people below have mentioned. Would recommend adding a probiotic electrolyte solution like Flockleader recovery 911( this has to be changed daily and fresh) this has probiotics and prebiotics and suppose to help in times of stress. or Save-a-Chick electrolyte solution to their water as well as a regular water on a regular basis. and more waterer/feeders. These supplements would need to be changed daily. And a better quality feed with probiotics. It’s pretty cheap and very easy to do. It’s already stressful for them being there so a little nutritional supplement would help them out and have better quality healthier chickens. Lots of old feed under on the male poultry cage. a lot of dust and cobwebs in the back everywhere that needs to be wiped down. the cages need deep cleaning. I sneezed a lot after leaving.*Note: I want to add one hen, whose feather was missing a bunch. Her beak was chipped and she could not eat properly. If they can’t eat properly they wouldn’t be able to ingest any nutrients to grow feathers back. The other one had a minor chip. I would suggest checking the ones with almost no feathers..they can only eat softer feed/food or mash.

Shopping at Callahans is always a treat! I love to see their Christmas gift selection, the kitchen wares and scout out the quality items I see nowhere else. Who knew there is a metal disk that rattles to let you know when water in a pot begins to boil? I picked up a Austin star and guitar fridge magnet and a"Heels and Toes" nail clipper $1.29 which reminded me about a joke.Spend some time. You don't know what you will find.

The most trusted name in farming and livestock needs, as well as for house pets, yard and home, and then some.Always the most excellent all around experience, especially their customer service, who are always helpful and knowledgeable. Their store is always clean and well organized, enjoyable shop at out of necessity, and to browse for fun.Especially as an animal lover, their attention and care especially of the animals they sell is exceptional...despite the ridiculous silliness of those (the less than 6%) who would fabricate falsehoods, because of what they do and don't eat.Especially as I refuse to finance with my money those who are all owned by the same stockholders, who profited while privately and family owned businesses were being shut down, I will always drive the extra miles for my needs, as I have been doing for decades.

I Love this place. Callahan's is a friendly place to shop also have animals and feed for your pets basically anything you want also they have cook out on weekend and country music. Remind me back in the old days. (Old school days)

I love going to Callahan's. I can't my chicken supplies from them. And I always check out the baby chicks they have for sale. Their staff is very knowledgeable and very friendly and helpful. And it's also cool that the other patrons or customer are friendly. Walking through those doors is like taking a step back in time and connecting with my roots in a small East Texas town where I grew up. They have a great selection. Their prices are reasonable as well.

I got 10 chicks that were supposed to be hens. FOUR ended up being roosters. They wouldn't refund me or trade for hens. They took one rooster back and gave me nothing. Now I heard from other people they traded them back for hens. I wasn't even ever rude but I don't like to be treated unfairly. I will no go back for anymore gardening or poultry needs. Overpriced anyways. Also, it was my first time with chickens ever and I know it's not going to be as easy for me to add hens to my flock. Thanks for screwing me.

Jessica was so helpful today, getting me in and out the door promptly with baby chicks for our brooding hen. She checked each one I chose and gave me fair warning that the last was a little iffy. I decided to give that one a chance, and Jessica understood that was what I needed to do. I’ve cleaned it up and so far, so good. Mamma hen is happy and we are happy. We sure appreciate Callahan’s!

Great place to get hardware supplies. They actually have people in departments that know what their selling and where to find it. Also capable of answering any questions you have. I'm not a farmer or keep animals of any kind but they would have anything one might need for any critter one might have.

I haven’t been in the store yet but I called them to find out about horse leads and Antonio was so helpful and friendly. I was just calling to find out if they have them and general pricing and he went and pulled a few from the shelf for me to give me information on a variety of the ropes and prices. Great customer service from him. I will definitely be going there to purchase what I need because of it.
