I own a small silk-on-silk Egyptian rug that required cleaning, and was struggling to find a cleaner that I would trust as they either lacked knowledge or were priced unreasonably for a 2’ X 3’ rug. Mike and the entire Austonian crew are the kinds of artisan and service professionals you hope you'll find. They were recommended to me by the person from whom I acquired a fine old Persian rug. They took a look at the rug and gave me a fair quote for cleaning and minor repairs. In addition, they spooled the rug on a large dowel and covered it to be stored until we were ready to put it in a new house. For one reason and another, we waited several weeks to pick up the rug. By the time we picked it up, we were ready to put it down in the new house and didn't need the storage wrapping. Mike removed the covering material and the charge for storage and packing materials.When we picked up the rug, we brought in a smaller soumak and asked if they could clean it in just a few days so we could get it back in time for Thanksgiving guests. They cheerfully agreed and we picked up the rug on Wednesday before guests arrived.Their prices are absolutely fair, though perhaps not the lowest in town. But better than the price, the whole team will take the time to explain the work that is necessary and the pricing structure. They are passionate about beautiful rugs and we are glad to have found them!

The Austonian cleaned 3 pet stained vintage rugs for me and recommended some repairs for moth and frame damage. Marcella gave me bids for all the repairs, but recommended I only repair the frame to keep the rugs intact and they could repair the moth damage another time. I appreciated her honesty as making all the repairs was out of my budget. They did a great job of repairing worn edges and matching some unusual colors. Highly recommended!

Austonian Rug Cleaning Company is an amazing quality and customer service from start to finish. Mike and his staff are first rate. The company has twice cleaned a family Heirloom Persian Kashan antique Rug with above and beyond quality. Our rug has a history of coming from Iran during the revolution a miracle in itself after my father was with the Embassy during revolution. It is dear to him and us. Mike and Robin and staff did a wonderful job cleaning and helped me ship it out of state to keep the rug in family hands. I cannot thank them enough and give them highest recommendation.

Austonian did an excellent job cleaning two heavily soiled and partially damaged, hand woven Iranian carpets that I inherited from my parents. They never promised anything that they didn't deliver. They thoroughly cleaned them, first carefully testing for color running. When that worked, they repaired the frayed ends and produced rugs completely restored. I highly recommend them.

This company is extremely capable and professional in all respects. They work magic on carpets and upholstery. You can trust them with your most special rugs. Yes, they are on the expensive side, but it is truly worth it! Our oriental carpets are returned soft as new and the fringe almost sparkles. Repairs are also done with great results. Customer service is great, too!

The owner, Mike, is awesome, as is his entire staff. I purchased a rug in Baghdad and it was damaged during shipping in a couple of tricky places. He went above and beyond to get the rug back to its original state, and more importantly, he identified a couple of points to look out for, even recommending a different way to roll/move the rug. We highly recommend Mike and his team; it's clear they know what they are doing, and they do it exceptionally well.

Excellent service! Mitch and Adam picked up my two rugs and were very knowledgeable about the fabrics. They moved all the furniture with care and were very patient with my cat who decided he needed to sit on the rug a little longer before it was taken. The rugs were returned in less than a week and we are very happy with the cleaning. Thanks!

Very pleased with cleaning and repairs on - 2 Middle Eastern rugs that have been in the family since the late 1800s, 2 Navajo rugs dating to ca. 1949, one small thunderbird dresser scarf dating unknown, and one Turkish prayer rug purchased in Turkey in 1981. As far as I know none had ever been cleaned. Pricing was reasonable in my opinion and the process took about as long as expected with a minor delay in shipping back to me (I-10 was closed due to flooding from Tropical Depression Imelda). I delivered the rugs in person when I was visiting family in Austin and the owner (Mike) was very knowledgeable when discussing what to do with each individual item. Marcella did a great job repairing my Persian rugs. She took the time to explain their construction to me and told me how she would fix the issues. The repair was done ahead of schedule and you would never know anything was ever wrong with them. The price was reasonable as well.

Mike and his company is Awesome! I had accidentally dripped some bleach from a toilet brush and created a path of little bleach spots from one bathroom to the next! Over 45 little spots! Before I found Austonia I had used another rug company that assured me they could dye the spots. No problem! Well...big problems ! They made it worse where they tried to fix it. Then I found Austonia. Mike spent at least 8 hours the first trip on the spots that they had made worse. The spots that previous company had not messed with Mike fixed immediately with no problem. Mike even came back multiple times even on his days off till it was right. Now you can’t tell where the bleach spots were. Saved us at least $3000 on new carpeting. Mike is very nice and conscientious and takes pride in his company and work. I cant say enough good things! Highly recommend!

The Austonian salvaged a couple of our Middle Eastern rugs which had some difficult-to-remove spots. They also did an excellent job of repairing worn edges and of binding the fringe ends of rugs. I would trust them with my best rugs.
