Being a hunter, fisher, gun guy I love academy just as much as the next outdoor enthusiast. I live 3 min from this location but it’s gotten to a point where I’d rather drive to Bass Pro to shop. Having to wait in line for 20 minutes to check out is not convenient or a good shopping experience. Being a business owner I understand overhead but at what point do you cut a guy from the floor and add him to a register?

Go here if you want to be reminded why you should just shop Amazon. They never have enough cashiers and you will wait in line for 10 minutes or more. First world problem, I know, but it's frustrating when you're expecting a quick trip.

I love my Academy store. Always get good shoes here along with other quality merchandise. Great selection on hunting equipment and the staff is always helpful as well

Cashier accidentally dropped a set of shoes we had just bought and didn’t realize it until two days later. We called and the manager took 30 minutes out of his time to review the cameras and confirmed we did in fact leave them behind and was extremely helpful to make sure we received the set of shoes we left behind. So thankful for all of his help!!

Love academy and this is a good location. Easy in/out, plenty of parking. Not in a crowded strip center. Returns have been relatively painless. They have a good selection of bbq stuff, boating, fishing equipment.

Counter pick up is horrible. No one is available to help and they had enough staff walking around to help. They got called 3 times and no one came up. Manager passed 3 times and stated there would someone in a bit. 20 minutes passed and no one came. The lady in front of me complained again and all of the sudden 3 people appeared and the Manager that saw us before appeared as well. All 3 employees stated they don't do curbside or pickup so it might be a learning curve. Yet the manager helped them. Why couldn't he help before hand instead of staring at us. Never again ill purchase at this location.

This store is in a very convenient location, on Research 183 between Oaknoll and Duvall, offers variety sports essentials with fair prices. They carrys good variety choices of pickleball paddles, but not no pickleball shoes.Sometimes you can find some on sale good items. Will shop there again soon.

Academy fails me every visit. Notably, they sold me a used high end USED range finder as new, and they've sold me boxes of arrows that arrows that were different brands and lengths mixed into a supposedly sealed box. Good luck getting customer service to help with these issues. Any call I've ever made has just rang for 5 minutes and then just drops, without ever being answered, and I've never actually found customer service in store to help me with these issues.

If I could give 0 stars I would, To start I am FFL Licensed Dealer who buys lots of products from academy stores over the years. I was just banned by them because they claim It makes them uncomfortable because I buy too much of their products . Yes this store Claims that they find it weird that I give them too much business as Fully legal licensed FIRE ARMS Dealer and after spending almost 3k at one store , and having them look up the other store that I needed more product from because all the products that I wanted was purchased by me , and I told them I am going to Georgetown to buy the last 2 products I needed ,they couldn't even have the courtesy to tell me not to waste my time since they were going to ban me when they have my personal cell , my company phone and my business license and my Store Location. I was asked to tell them where all the products ( about 20k last 2 weeks) had gone and I told him every single FFL dealer that they were sent to said yeah it makes us uncomfortable for licensed dealer to buy a lot of our products from us. In 15 years of owning business and dealing with different companies this was first for me and kind of funny story to have as memory. YOUR MANAGEMENT CLEAR INCOMPETENCE JUST COST YOUR COMPANY LOTS OF FUTURE SALES. Thanks

Gilda critizied me to my face for doing so. very odd.I walked out without saying anything, and still made the purchase, because it would only hurt my kid, not the sale associate to deny the purchase considering the size of the company... but I will not be returning.

Academy is a really good place to find your next pair of sneakers for any sport. If you go at the very last alley or wall behind the main sneaker section, there is usually a discount section where if you're in luck could find top shoes at very reasonable prices.

Online products were not available even though they could have fulfilled a partial order. They canceled the whole order so I had to settle to purchase something different. Overall academy is a very good store. I will not use the online service anymore.

Lots of options and some sale prices but unfortunately very limited size selections in the shoes I wanted. But finding what I liked then purchasing online for ship to home, plus additional discount for online purchase, saved the day.

I began to hate scumbag retailers such as academy. I purchase a pool pump at academy and it is the last one in Austin. I show up to pick up the item and it's not at the front like it should and the stellar employers couldn't even find the item. After an hour (no exaggeration) they tell me they found it and wheel the box up to the front. It was a returned item that was damaged and it clearly had red tape on it that said damaged all across the tape. Why in the hell would you even think it would be ok to give a customer a previously opened box.I will just buy it from Amazon like I should have from the beginning. Never had any problems with them. I hope Amazon destroys most of these non customer service worthless box stores.

Thanks to one of the employees that works in the sporting good area he was able to help me find what I needed. He was very professional and friendly, as well as the cashier and one of the managers. I was very pleased because I am not one to go to sporting good stores, but I've recently hired a trainer and bought a few items for me to keep at home and he was very helpful so thank you.

Long lines. Took 15 minutes to check out once we were in line. Did not call for assistance with that. Cashier has the attitude and questions as if he did not want to be there. "Have an academy card?" We answered. He said "your total is" and no thank you or have a great day.
