I love Potenza Exotics! It’s a wonderful store with a great variety of products and animals! They have great customer service! They always take care of their animals to make sure they are always at their best health. It’s a really underrated shop! And the owner is so nice! She helped me find a buddy for my other Chinchilla! I purchased a black velvet chinchilla from them. He is super calm and sweet! I love how tame and calm he is! I would definitely recommend going to Potenza Exotics! Great pets, great products and great service!☺️🐭👍

My daughter has had two hedgehogs. The first one was purchased in Houston from a home breeder and lived to be seven years old. She was delightful. The second one was purchased after the death of the first one. It was purchased from a home breeder as well. She was also extremely delightful and very loved. With both of these hedgehogs, it was evident that there was a lot of love and time put into their care as soon as they were born. They were very comfortable with humans and human contact after minimal handling. We purchased the third one after the second one had to be put to sleep at a very early age of 2 1/2 from cardiac issues. This third hedgehog is purchased from Poenza Because it appeared that they were breeders on the website, and they were close to Dallas, which is where my daughter has since moved this hedgehog will not have anything to do with humans or human contact. At least she has tampered down the biting, but she hisses and has a deep click every time you get near her. My daughter had her for a few months and then brought her with her to visit for Christmas. My husband, I couldn’t believe how unfriendly and terrified this hedgie seemed. I kept her with me to try to spend several hours a day with her to get her used to human contact. I’ve had her now for about 2 weeks, and nothing has changed. Beware of buying a hedgehog from this place, because I think they breed them, but don’t hand train them. I’m so disappointed.

Potenza is an excellent small business to shop at for all your exotic pet needs! This place has been the best thing for me, I no longer have to drive across DFW to get what my pets need! From food, supplies, enclosures, live terrarium plants to the pets themselves, they have it all. They also carry some of the biggest name brands in the hobby!

Words cannot describe how thankful I am for Luisa and her family at Potenza Exotics! They have phenomenal customer service, they are willing to go above and beyond to ensure animals are well taken care of, and they are always there to make sure you feel prepared and have all the necessary tools to take care of your animal correctly. Below you will see pictures of my two baby hedgehogs that I got from Potenza Exotics. Cruella and Meeko are doing fantastic, if I ever have any questions or concerns I know that Luisa is there for me. I will never trust another breeder. Love this place the owner is sweet and nice and will help you with anything you need. I got our mini pig from her and she kept me updated when she got him in and all the details on taking care of him. Iv even got some tarantula slings from her and they have grown into beautiful tarantulas. Highly recommend this place she not only knows what she sales but she will tell you how to properly take care of them.

We absolutely love this place and highly recommend it! Luisa was amazing from the start. She is always readily available for any questions and the knowledge she has was so helpful being first time Hedgehog owners. We reserved our baby Ajaxis before my daughters birthday and Luisa was so kind to make a birthday video of him before his scheduled pick up date so we could present it to my daughter for her birthday. This just made her day for sure. Thank you Potenzas and Luisa especially for such a wonderful little guy and being so helpful in the whole process. We would definitely recommend any exotic pet purchases from this store.

The hedgehogs did not disappoint, but almost everything else did. They had a small collection of terrariums in which a few geckos and snakes were kept. All of the terrariums were bone dry. The crested gecko enclosures had decent decor within them. I felt that with a bit more humidity, the geckos would be in acceptable conditions. However, they had two ball pythons in such poor condition, I would have bought them if I had the money, just to ensure they had a better life. The pythons did not have any hides in their enclosures which subjects the animal to a lot of stress. There were several large piles of feces and urates left in the enclosure. At first, I thought they were part of the decor because they were so large, dry, and rock solid. Turns out, they probably had been in there for weeks. When an employee came to ask if I had any questions, I actually asked if they could spray down the ball python enclosures. She looked dumbfounded, possibly insulted, or maybe just confused at what that would entail. I explained that the pythons need significantly more humidity and that I hate to see them suffer. Especially since one of the pythons was actually shedding, it needed a lot more humidity to have a healthy shed. She eventually agreed and thanked me for bringing it to her attention. I’m kicking myself now for not taking a picture of the enclosures to post here. An experienced snake keeper would know the conditions were pitiful. Clearly, there is a lack of reptile expertise and passion among the employees at this store. The only redeeming aspect of the store is that they did have a decent selection of decor and Repashy reptile gel diets. I just wish that the employees either do more research and correct their reptile-keeping pitfalls or that they just stick to selling hedgehogs.EDIT: Response to Potenza Exotics' measly attempt at self-preservation. First of all, I would like to make it clear that I am not a competitor of your store in any way. I do not work in the pet trade, nor do I own a store. I am simply an educated enthusiast that is saddened to see any store prioritize money over animal wellbeing. While it is comical that you claim that I falsified my review, any skeptic is invited to visit your store and see the pitiful conditions for themselves. I understand that my honest review is a hard pill to swallow, but it is a necessary one. Regarding your claim that this information is harmful to the reptile community as a whole: On the contrary, what is harmful to the community is a store that does not keep reptiles in favorable conditions. Furthermore, it is harmful to sell reptiles in poor health, and without properly educating and preparing customers to ensure success. I highly doubt your store could educate or prepare anyone for reptile keeping, seeing as you are unable to do it properly, yourselves. If you are more concerned with your online reputation rather than correcting the issue, you further solidify my statements. Your store was already disappointing, but I lost all remaining respect for it entirely with your desperate effort to deny the truth.

Totally enjoyed my visit. Brought my wife and daughter to get some supplies for our little hedgehog. The store owners were friendly, helped us out and even showed us the wonderful animals. Definitely recommend this store for anyone looking for an exotic animal or a Potenza experience.

I have purchased several hedgehogs from Potenza Exotics. All of them are not just friendly and healthy, but are all amazingly beautiful with the most unique coloring and markings! These animals really show how much time and effort that Luisa, the owner, put into selectively breeding and socializing them. I am proud to add her animals to my own breeding program. Keep it up, Potenza - we'll be back for more!

I got a female tenrec from potenza exotics, and she is the loveliest!! Completely friendly, sweet, and already bonding to me!! The owner is amazing as well, very knowledgeable and they have everything you need for whatever pet you get at a great price!! Would def shop again.

This place is truly amazing. I have been to many reptile and pet supply stores around the area, and Potenza is the best in my opinion. The quiet personal atmosphere, the rare selection of habitats and décor, along with animals for sale ranging from snakes to rabbits. I own a water dragon who was recently injured at home. Potenza Exotics went out of their way to help and train me on the proper way to give medication to my lizard. In addition, the prices are amazing compared to what I have seen in Arlington, and I personally hope to see this business do well. They seemed very knowledgeable in the way they dealt with customers. I am a new customer now, and was completely 100% satisfied with my experience. Would recommend to anyone in reference to exotics! Thanks guys!

So far so good these guys are amazing working with me super well to ship my leachie to me and even offered a refund because I would have to wait !!! But I told them no and that I would love the have there lizard and I don't mind the wait !! Highly will recommend these guys to my friends !!

I am a faithful customer to Potenza Exotica and the store just opened! First of all the owners are so friendly and personable as well as knowledgeable about the species of animals and products they sell. I would also like to note that they actually care a lot about educating their customers or potential customers on the animals to make sure they are prepared and that the animals go to a great and caring home.They carry a lot of the best brands for my exotic pets needs be it feeders or supplies or enclosures. I especially like the variety of foods they carry for my hedgehog and short tailed opposum.This is my honest review having spent a good deal of time at the store. Go visit because you wont be disappointed. P.S. The prices are great!

Absolutely LOVE this store! I have bought 4 crested geckos from them now and I couldn’t be more pleased with them! By far the cleanest pet store I have ever been in. It is easy to find what you need for your pets. They are always helpful and quick to respond when I message them about a specific color morph of gecko that I am looking for. I got a tenrec from Potenza Exotics. Hands down best pet I've ever had! I frequent the store for my hedgehog needs, but when I held a tenrec, I absolutely fell in love! They are so friendly and personable. My little Dobby is a sweetheart! Luisa is very informative and helps me every step of the way in owning these wonderful curious creatures! Such a wonderful store. Extremely clean and all animals had a nice environment/set up. My daughters really enjoyed seeing all of the animals. The owners were extremely knowledgeable and answered all of the questions my daughters had. You can tell they really care about their animals. My girls especially loved the lion haired rabbit and the fat tail gerbil. These are 2 animals we’ve never seen before! Thank you for the experience!

Fairly small location but a decent selection of accessories for reptiles and hedgehogs. The employee(s) have been great every time I've been there. Competitive prices for a smaller business. Not a lot to choose from animal wise but what they do have are mainly older (i.e not babies).

Beautiful store. Plenty of parking. Knowledgeable staff. Gorgeous animals. Live feeder insects that were actually in stock. Most importantly safe set-ups, treats, toys, and bedding for common and uncommon exotic animals. I arrived close to closing time and never felt rushed. 10/10 would recommend!!!

We can't say enough about Luisa and Potenza Exotics. Our pets are fabulous! We have spiders, geckos, frogs, hedgehogs and tenrecs from Potenza. All are healthy, strong and thriving. Also, and this is a big deal, they are hand tame from the beginning. Even the geckos have great personalities. We have bought live feeders and even those are obviously healthy. Luisa will answer countless questions and help even after you leave the store. You can't go wrong with a new pet from Potenza, we haven't 😉

The boy I got happened to be the sweetest hedgehog male I've ever had. He loves running around & climbing into my lap. Luisa is always around for any questions or concerns. Potenza Exotics is a very clean and friendly place to visit and shop. They are family owned and knowledgeable about the animals that they sell. The selection of accessories is excellent- lots of things that are very useful and hard to find. They have a good selection of feeders and their snakes are gorgeous and well cares for. My favorite thing so see at Potenza Exotics are the tenrec, wow!! ❤️❤️❤️ If you don't know what a tenrec is, you will definitely want to go visit and see them in person!

My favorite pet store in the world! Especially the guy who works behind the counter. I don't know who's cuter, the lemurs or that hunk of man. Plus the great prices! I can't rave enough about how affordable their exotics are.
