These animals are awfully treated, they’re sickly and obviously neglected. The employees and the owner are rude. I wasn’t allowed to use my phone in the store. The smell of cigarettes was overwhelmingly strong. The fish tanks are covered in algae. It’s such terrible conditions. The product quality is awful.

Only gets one star bc I want to leave a review. This place needs to be shut down for animal neglect. All the animals are near death or ill. It’s absolutely disgusting and the cigarette smoke makes you feel like you are at an old bar. My daughters throat hurt after leaving bc of the smoke. Gross gross gross.. I feel awful for the animals. The man working was also extremely rude and dismissive. I can’t believe the condition of the animals is even allowed.

I actually don’t understand these bad reviews. The owner has been nothing but incredibly nice to me and very helpful. I buy feeder rats from here and they’re always healthy and well cared for. Everything is hand raised and loves to be pet. I love it here so much. I’ll always go here for feeder rats. Stupid people need to stop going here, being stupid, then leaving bad reviews. It’s not the stores fault that you’re dumb. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

As a veterinary technician, these animals were clearly sick and uncared for. The place is absolutely disgusting, including the extremely small cages. The products are both poor in quality and in selection. The two working were extremely rude as well, hiding in the back room that looked like a hoarders den. Don’t even get me started on the pungent smell of cigarettes. I absolutely would NEVER give my business to such a poorly run shop.

Absolutely love it there! Owner Beckee is very knowledgeable and honest. She will go above and beyond to help her customers. She strives to make sure her customers are taken well care of. Phillip is also pretty great, he is just as knowledgeable and strives to take care of his customers as well. It has always been clean, and smells clean. Pets are very well mannered and very sweet. I recommend that you buy your pets at Pitter Patter Pets.

This store is disgusting. Animals are cramped in tiny cages, given inadequate care, and are clearly going insane. I couldn't bare to watch their prairie dog stick its hands out of its metal cage(no dirt or sand just metal bars on its feet) the worker said they get new ones every may. The prairie dog was digging in his bowl of food as if it were dirt, They are social animals who need professional care. Selling them to someone who doesn't know how to care for them will result in a short, tortured life. Not to mention the rats were crammed in tiny spaces little plastic bins with up to 10+ in one, the size of the bins no bigger than two prices of paper lined up. Please don't shop here and support this, Rabbits had head tilts which need medical attention, Puppies on wire floors, and live animals who are sick are thrown into the freezer, still alive with their dead family. The man that works there is horridly disgusting and unhelpful and values those animals lives as nothing more than money and unfeeling items.Update: They're out of business! WOOHOO!

Went in one day to check on grooming prices for my dog. Received smart ass remarks from the guy who works there. Was watched the whole time by him. Felt uncomfortable the whole time I was in the store. Thought it would be a good thing to keep my money local but with this type of customer service I guess I'll take my business elsewhere.If I wanted to be treated like crap and made to feel untrustworthy I would've stayed married to my ex-wife.

The owner who works there seems a little intimidating and short at first, but he knows what he is doing and cares that you’re prepared to take care of his animals. The conditions in the cages are good, but not super flashy like the big chains. Purchased a new Syrian hamster and am glad I went here.

Great pet shop parakeets kittens puppies lizards snakes rabbits guinea pigs my sorcerer pets and supplies the lady is great that owns it the man he's rude as can be needs to learn to be polite with customers supposably Christian store so the sign reads outside well he don't surprise me.anyway it's a great place to buy stuff you can just put up with his rudeness but they do have a lot of good stuff for your parakeets for you pets .thank you.

Took my fiancé to get a few pet rats, and over the phone the man said he had a few specialty. When we got there it was shocking. He was rude and kept trying to make us buy more, even though we said NO at least 7 times. The rats that were for sale to us were actually just the food for his reptiles, and all looked ill. And except for maybe 7 or 8 hairless rats, there were no "special" breeds. But she fell in love with a couple who were very nice looking and worth the money, so we thought. They are both sick. And refuse to eat. We watched the treatment of the pets, he would slap, shove and throw them. Do not go there. You are better off at petco or petsmart.

The owner was friendly when we walked in but the reason I only give this place 2 stars is because all the animals cages in there where filthy and you could tell that they hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time. I definitely think if they took better care of the animals this would be a great pet shop.

If you make it more than 5 feet inside the door, and can ignore the pungent smell of cigarette smoke, major props to you. The animal cages look like they haven't been dusted or cleaned for ages and the animals don't seem to be provided with basic and proper living conditions. Variety of food and bedding is scarce, though prices aren't too high (and are the only reason I'm allowing a second star). Definitely will not be going back to support such a poorly ran store.

Everything was super dusty, like old? BUT the animal selection was really awesome and the owner/manager was really nice. He seemed a little preoccupied by things in the back and cleaning tanks but overall it was cool!

Horrible experiance, i needed my dogs nails cut and i took him there, big mistake!!!! He was rude, ugly, cussed and made me feel so unwelcome, and didnt even care when he cut my dogs nail to short and made him bleed, instead of apologizing he treated us like an inconvenience because Charlie was bleeding and got blood on the floor. Will never in my life go back to that store.

Absolutely horrible conditions for the animals. most of them are sick and dying. My family purchased a few just to have to turn around and take the to get expensive medical treatment. It's clearly obvious that these people should not be allowed to sell or own pets... I was so surprised at what I saw when I went in there, that I have little to no faith in amarillo's animal control. If you spend money here, you are contributing to the illness and death of more animals, and I can assure you that I won't ever set a foot in here again, and am concidering taking them to court for vet bills on an animal they sold me that died after 2 vet visits and a week after I bought her.

The male owner is completely rude and makes up prices on the fly. We paid an extra 7 for a dumbo rat because he happened to notice the ears when he picked it up by the TAIL to remove it from the cage. The poor little boy has mites so bad he has scratches all over his body and clear eggs in his hair. He is losing chunks of hair too! He just creepily watches you from a distance like he thinks you are going to steal something with a really mean expression on his face too. The animals in here really need to be adopted. Especially the poor rats.

Stood waiting for at least 15 minutes and thatwas fine but as soon as a white male walked in for crickets, he jumps up, checks him out and walks away, doesnt say a word to me. Maybe he didnt TRY to serve me because I'm a woman or dark skinned but I will not be returning. He played awesome Christian music but his service was not very Christian!

Sad place, poor animals.. The creepy man that works there is rude!! My boyfriend and I were looking around for about 5 minutes & he told us to leave BC he needed to go to the bank🤔The products there were over priced & looked as its been sitting on the shelf forever. Poor prairie dog, in a metal cage. Fish tanks full of alge. Do not support him nor that business

The owner/manager man is grumpy. I guess he isn't good with humans! He is, however, EXCELLENT with his animals. I have two ferrets from this shop and they WILL NOT BITE. He takes the time to socialize the animals unlike any care giver at Petco or PetSmart. He doesn't keep too many animals in the same cage either. Also the grooming service is quick, professional, and cheap. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Pitter Patter Pets. Don't expect the humans to be nice only the pets. :P

There is a man there that was very rude. And have the most nastiest attitude ever when asked a simple question. My friend wanted a pet mice to have. And he put it in a paper bag and stapled it, which is not the way to place any animal in.Not only that the animals there are not properly cared for.

Management was rather oblivious to us in the store. Instead of welcoming us they kind of just stared from the back room. I think the only thing they said to us whilst in here was, "DONT LET THE PUPPIES LICK YOU!"I definitely would not recommend this place for first time pet owners.

Terrible animal condition:( back when we got our first rat a few years back we didn't know much, so we asked the owner and he said to put them in a tiny glass tank. It's been 3 years now and we noticed how horrible that was. The owner kept hitting on my mom too! On top of that our rat had ear mites. Those poor animals shouldn't be in the care of that creepy, rude man.

My daughter wanted a scorpion for her birthday...I know!!! Why? So off I go...Walked in and it looked creepy from the start. Old guy moving things around..walked up to him and asked if he had any scorpians and he bit back with it's the wrong time....next month is scorpions....????? Okay I guess there is a season? Dunno but I do know I wont be going back..

This guy was absolutely TERRIBLE to me and my girlfriend trying to adopt a kitten today. We came in and asked to look at the kittens and he said “sure” so we pulled one out and politely asked if it were a boy or a girl. He violently grabbed the kitten from us and yanked its tail up (AS IT YELPED) and handed it back to us. All the animals in here are miserable and as much as I hate this store and the service these animals NEED to be adopted. PLEASE go in and help these animals out.

Horrible conditions for the animals. They were sick and dying. Saw several dead animals. And that girl Avery I DON'T GIVE A FREAKING FLYING CRAP IF HE DID BREAK UP WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND OVER THE PHONE! I spent over 100.00 on a ferret and was treated like he just wanted to take my money and get me out, I asked a question and he snapped an answer, the woman seems to care about her customers and I believe he needs to deal with the animals and her deal with the customers, I was nice and there was not reason for him to be rude just answer the questions politely, just cause his day isn't going his way doesn't mean you should be rude, that's how small businesses get closed down.
