Great experience for first time pet adoption. My kitten came home neutered and vaccinated for basically free ($5). The people inside were really nice and obviously cared a lot about the animals. Would love to adopt from here again.

I have adopted two kittens from them and they have been so sweet and helpful every time. I also did community service there and the staff is so kind and welcoming and prepared to answer any questions or concerns. You can tell they all truly care about the work they are doing and love the animals! If you can, I 100% recommend adopting an animal from them because they all deserve amazing homes!

I adopted my dog here and she is wonderful. The staff was very helpful and there were many dogs to chose from. They also let you meet and greet the dogs before closing one which was nice to see their energy levels and personalities before adopting !

We call them at least 15 times and we waited for 6 hours and they never showed up we called at 11:30 and it’s 3:20 never came and the lady that we called was so rude and and got mad at a child and said I got MY address wrong when I didn’t. she was rude the whole time we were on call they still have not came 1star. didn’t like them at all and it’s like they didn’t even care about the cat ? the animal we called about is still there we called them and said they will arrive in 30 minutes they didn’t arrive did not like them. sorry I dont recommend it ^ the cat they didn’t even care about messed up. 1 STAR

Animal management is a joke, stray animals running amuck, and when you do call them they're like is the animal aggressive? I'm not going to go out and pet the damn thing. And they always cry about not having room at the animal shelter, well euthanize them and be done with it. These City officials are freaking useless.

I called and asked about adopting a dog. I stated what I was looking for and links were sent to me with dogs that might work. (Wren helped me) I went to facility and each dog was brought out and the second dog was just perfect! I took her home (she was already spayed) and she has been a wonderful addition to the family. Everyone is shocked that this wonderful animal was at the pound. $35. A true bargain for a lifelong friend.

I did not adopt from here today. I just went to see what was available. While I was walking around I saw two employees removing a dog from a pen. One of them had the dog on a leash and the other was kicking at the gate to get another dog in the pen to back up and not come out I think. Aren’t theses dogs stressed enough without being treated that way? It only takes a few times like this for a dog to get aggressive and possibly go for peoples feet as he thinks he’s protecting himself. Just my opinion. I know from just walking around that many dogs are nervous when someone approaches.

They offer free dog chipping, which is good for the community but either the city needs to give them more money or they need to step up there standards so the animals here can get better care. Some of there staff members do care they are friendly and seem to enjoy there job.

We adopted a puppy and a cat! The experience was great. Emma and Dustin were so nice to let us meet and greet and do the paperwork. Great price on fees too! Both fixed, all shots and microchipped.

I personally would adopt every dog in there if I could. I feel so bad for them. They put down all the animals at their discretion. Why was I told this was a no kill shelter and it’s most definitely is a kill shelter. Please find a rescue or a foster before you take any animal here. Adopt from the shelter if you can. I’d much rather adopt as to see one be put down for no reason at all.

Nice clean place, plenty of space for the animals to move around in the kennels. All of the dogs we saw were amazingly quiet compared to other places I've visited. I was looking for a certain breed but they didn't have any at the time so I'm still looking. The young man we talked to was knowledgeable and helpful. He showed us a couple of strays that weren't available yet, I think he was hoping I'd pick one of them. He also told me to call him if I changed my mind and decided on one of them so he could tell me if they were dog friendly since I have a small dog and they hadn't been tested yet. I'll keep checking back with them. Those dogs all deserve a forever home and maybe I will be able to give it to one of them.

It was a sad call, but Animal Control responded quickly. We had found a dead kitty on our property. I called them, and within 2 hours, they came and removed they poor cat.The person I spoke with on the phone was very nice and helpful.

My cats disappeared. Have been going every day to see if they are at pound. Have had some staff who are helpful and nice but havr been getting concerning information from staff on record keeping and if chips are being checked. If pictures are being taken and uploaded. Where barn cats are going and where they go. Lots of statements that it's being mismanaged or animals not being properly checked and documented

I found 2 Jack Russell terriers in my alley. One Male, 1 female. They just jumped in my car. I took then to AAC to keep them from the cold. They gad collars but no tags. Very sweet! Only had to wait about 20 minutes for an employee showed up to pick up the dogs from KY car. He was nice!

This place offered temporary care for my dog children when I was hospitalized with a serious infection from a cat bite. They lied. They promised I could call daily for updates, then claimed no knowledge of the staff who took them. When I went to retrieve my family, the public greeter told me matter of factly that they had murdered two of my babies and were shipping the others out of state because they decided my dogs needed a "younger" and "healthier" caretaker.I despise these people.

The guy at the window and the security guy were so very rude to everyone.A lady stopped us on the way in to ask if we would let them know they had dogfood donations. My son told the security guy and he said we are busy right now. Not appreciative at all!!

My name is Jeanette BrewerThis morning I called about a female Blue Heeler on your website. I made an appointment for a meet and greet at 2:00 this afternoon. I made the appointment loved the dog, said I wanted to adopt her, paid all her fees and was told I had to leave her to be spayed. She already had an appointment to be spayed but they were going to reschedule it.When I got home there was a message from Amarillo Animal Management and Welfare. They told me I couldn’t have her and she had gone with a rescue group out of Oregon. Now they are saying she had mastitis and needed treatment. They let a dog that was legally mine go with a Oregon Rescue group rather than calling me and giving me a chance to pay her medical and treat her. Which I could of because I worked for a vet in Perryton Tx for several years. Now this poor dog is being stressed out and transported to Oregon when she could of been treated here in a loving home with no stress. I will never use this business or recommend this business. You need better management because the right doesn’t know what the left hand is doing!Sent from my iPhone

I was told the wrong information by a balding red headed employee. I didn’t get to adopt the animal because of this information. If you go here get at least 3 or 4 different opinions because they clearly only hire people who don’t know what they are doing or what they are talking about. Make this place your last resort for adoption. Very unprofessional and I feel sorry for the animals they take care of if this is the level of professionalism they allow.

Called about 2 large dogs running around a very busy street and never saw an animal control vehicle nor did I receive a call back. I did see the two dogs the next day running around the same area. I'm surprised one hasn't been hit yet. At the time I called I had seen them everyday for 5 days straight and had to hear horns honking constantly.

Went looking for lost female Chihuahua mix with pups. The day she disappeared I expected pups before morning. They wouldn't let me leave a description and contact info. Couldn't tell me anything. Ain't there a book of instructions with volunteer work? Very unhelpful but nice. Lot's of beautiful big dogs. Needing food donations here plz. y'all come give a dog a home n get best friend

The one interaction I’ve had with these people was ludicrous. My husband took my cat to the vet. Covid restrictions are in place so my husband couldn’t go back with my cat. After being examined, prodded, and diagnosed with tapeworms, after the vet gave my cat his treatment shot, he’d had enough and bit the vet out of anxiety. The vet followed protocol and filed a report. We were told we had to pay a kennel to quarantine my cat for 10 days to make sure he didn’t have rabies. WE GOT HIS SHOTS BACK IN MARCH! But get this. WE GOT THEM AGAIN AT THE SAME VET, THE SAME DAY, AFTER THE VET HAD BEEN BITTEN, BUT BEFORE BOARDING HIM BECAUSE THEY WOULDN’T DO JUST THE LEUKEMIA SHOT!!!! Only this time they let my husband go back with my cat. No reaction from the cat. When animal welfare showed up at the kennel we were dropping my cat off at, the field officer who tried to explain to her supervisor that my cat wasn’t rabid. For the love of Pete! HE WAS SCARED WITHOUT HIS OWNER!!! BUT THE SUPERVISOR WOULDN'T LISTEN OR TAKE HIS OWN PERSON SERIOUSLY!!! Why even send someone out if you don’t care what they have to say? If you’re only agenda is to keep my cat locked up when he did what any terrified animal would do? If I could sue, I would. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. THEY TAKE ANIMALS FOR BEING INSTINCTIVE AND SCARED!!!!
