I was on the road when my dog passed. They gave us some advise and suggestions. They handle cremations, and arranged to ship the ashes home.No big deal, but I was heart broke and they were kind.The shelter and the animals looked clean and well cared for.So thank you to them, and please remember them when you make donations.

Absolutely the WORST. I called about a dog I rescued in NE Texas who was dumped. I picked him up even though I already had 2 dogs and 3 cats. He was estimated to be 1 years old. At the time he got along so well with my other dogs. Suddenly, after moving to Alpine and in with my mother who also has a dog, he decided to attack my male dog. At the advice of this shelter we have searched and searched and post about him on Facebook and everywhere else trying to find him a home but no takers after over a month of searching. He’s a beautiful, good dog, potty trained and amazing overall. and only aggressive to male dogs… BECAUSE he’s an un-neutered male dog. We have jumped hoops trying to keep him, making barriers and keeps all 3 other dogs in our home locked up and trying LITERALLY EVERYTHING in our power to keep him but after my mothers THIRD brain surgery, she was just too tired and told me to call this place back. She is too weak and unable to handle it when she gets back home. BUT..They won’t take him here. Told me no. Their full and he will be euthanized immediately since they have all but 2 -male dogs. Wouldn’t even give him a chance. Some shelter. I guess my only option is to shoot him between the eyes and make it as humane as possible. What a joke this place is

Very clean animal shelter with friendly staff. They have a big yard for enrichment and local volunteers to exercise the animals in their charge.Sadly there are often animals to adopt as we still have challenges getting folks to spay and neuter their pets.If you are looking for a great addition to your family....this should be the first place to look.ADOPT! DON'T SHOP!

What I first noticed was the customer service was excellent. Then walking to the kennels to meet Knox the facility was very clean. They let me spend time with Knox two different times that day. Then the next day I went back and adopted Knox. The staff here was very helpful with my questions.

They treat the animals with great care. Always clean. Friendly staff. I come here and volunteer. I wanted to take 5 dogs home at the end of the day ❤
