Southland Safari is amazing! It’s worth the drive and it’s an experience your family will not forget! The staff is so nice and knowledgeable. The animals are beautiful and are so well taken care of. Michael the tour guide is the smartest man in the world! The care the staff gives them is so very obvious. The cabins are so cute and the petting zoo is a definite plus! The opportunity to just see all the animals is just astounding but then to get to hold a kangaroos paw, get kissed by a giraffe, and pet a sloth is something that my family will never forget! We will be back!

Great experience! We spent a night in one of the cabins, which was very nice. The first evening we made a fire in the firepit, roasted hot dogs and had smores, fed the animals and Grandson fished. The next day we had our VIP safari and excursion. Michael was our guide and he was great, full of information and some humor! We met Tosha, one of the owners and she was very pleasant. The place is very well taken care of. The animals and their habitat are also well cared for and when they talk about the animals you just feel the love they have for them.

We had a great experience here. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. The animals were well cared for and available for close viewing. We stayed in a cabin on the property and the staff was attentive to any needs we had. This is a beautiful place that is great for kids and adults. We will definitely return.

Jayme Norris finally got to meet and touch her favorite animal today a SLOTH. We were in a room with 3 of them, 2 adults and a 3 month old baby. We got to touch all of them. The only animals we didn't get close up pictures of were the kangaroos because we were surrounded by them feeding them. We played with and fed so many cool and interesting animals is an understatement of the fun we had. Our tour guide Mr.Mike was so cool and made the whole tour a blast. If anyone wants to take a short trip that can be taken in a day and fun for kids and adults make a reservation here you won't regret it I promise you that !!

We had the most amazing time during Southland Safari’s opening weekend. They haven’t been open since November, and everything went so well and seamless. The cabin was so clean and thoughtful, the petting zoo area was a hit with my kids, the safari was beyond what we thought it would be, and the animal encounters were magical. The safari tour guide is the absolute perfect person for the job. The family that owns and operates the safari are great, down to earth, small town type of people and we really enjoyed experiencing all the magic they have created. We just loved our whole experience start to finish and would recommend it to anyone. Well worth the cost. An absolutely unbelievable experience.

What an incredible experience! The VIP tour is fantastic and key for a large family event. Michael is a gifted guide and clearly loves every single animal. I love that many animals are rescued and cared for like babies. The zoo is pristine due to the care placed in it. We will be doing this every year when I come home! Thanks for a wonderful time and for catering to my Mema. She loved it. Happy Holidays.

Southland Safari was a 5 star destination from booking time to check in. The cabins were very nice, clean and accommodating, when you arrive there is a bucket of feed to feed the assortment of animals in the same driveway as the cabins. We stayed in the sloth cabin and it was perfect for our group of 5. The owner was very friendly and available as soon as we had a question. We did the vip safari tour and had a great time. Our tour guide was so friendly as well as informative on all the animals, she even got out to refill feed buckets and get snacks for us to feed the animals. The one on one encounter with the animals at the end of tour was fun as well. Over all it was an amazing experience and would 100% recommend to all families.

A truly unique experience that is worth every penny! Our tour guide was so nice and hilarious, and helped make this a one of a kind experience! We loved learning how Southland Safari started and hope that it will be around for a long time. Everyone we met was so nice. I highly recommend staying in the cabins the night before your tour. You’ll leave wanting to plan your next trip to Southland Safari, I promise!

Definitely recommend you visit this incredible place! We did the package for 2 for our anniversary. Cabins are cute, clean and cozy! It was so peaceful to sit and watch the deer, and then later feed deer, alpaca, goats, etc. Beautiful pond, fire pit, and a playground if you have littles. The animal encounters the next day blew me away! Everyone was SO friendly and knowledgeable! The kangaroo encounter was a 10, but those sloths have my heart! ❤️ You can see how much they love their animals and we are grateful that they shared a little bit of that with us!

The VIP tour is the way to go!It gave us one on one time with the animals and our guide. It allowed us to get to know about the animals and their homes. Mr. Michael did a great job on giving us information about all of the animals. He answered all of our questions and made my little man feel special.Loved how we ended the day with special time with a baby sloth got kisses from the giraffe 🦒 and my little boy got to hold a baby kangaroo!Thank you so much Chris, Tosha and all the staff at Southland Safari. If you want a day to remember set a reservation for a VIP tour and be ready to take tons of pictures!

I questioned how much fun this would actually be, but it was sooo much better than i imagined. This place is very well thought out and the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. The wide variety of animals are obviously loved and taken very good care of. The enclosures are spacious and clean. My family drove 2 hrs to visit and would gladly do it again. This is a family destination that is family owned and operated. The tour took about 2 hrs with plenty of opportunity to get up close and personal with kangaroos, giraffes, sloths, goats, alpacas, and more. We have been to every zoo in tennessee, and i don't remember the kids having this much fun! Be sure to buy tickets in advance because the tours sell out.

INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE! WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY! A variety of beautiful and well cared for animals. My son and I did the VIP package, in an open air jeep tour of the animal enclosures with a delightful, informed and genuine host. We got to feed many animals from the jeep including Water Buffalo, Bison, Sika Deer, and Ostriches, which are the most fun to feed. We also got up close with Sloths, and fed Giraffes, Llama, Goats, Alpaca and Kangaroos!! All the animals looked healthy, spirited, and comfortable, and all the enclosures are recently built for animal safety and well being.Make reservations in advance, and prepare to have the most incredible animal experience of your life!

Southland Safari is INCREDIBLE! This place is not widely known, but it is one of the cleanest, most professional animal parks I have ever visited -- something I have done on four continents.The animal encounter alone is worth the trip. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and personable. It is a very different experience from the (also good) Tennessee Safari Park, which has a much bigger advertising budget. Even the cabins are clean, comfortable, and convenient. Do not overlook this gem.I highly, highly recommend!(Not included in this review is the picture of me kissing a giraffe. Saving that for the Christmas card 😁)

The guides were so knowledgeable, and funny! You're given food for all the animals, so close encounters are more likely. We hand-fed kangaroos, giraffes, ostriches, bison, alpacas...then we pet sloths, fennec fox....I held a baby kangaroo! This was a spectacular experience!

This was our second trip to Southland Safari. We wish that we could give more than five stars. I can't think of one thing that would have made our trip better. Mike is so knowledgeable about the animals and hysterical as well. He made sure to have one on one conversations with our granddaughters and called them by name even when we saw him hours later at the campgroud.

Did VIP safari on my birthday this past Sunday. Was meant to have additional guests join but they suffered a death in the family a couple of days before - it was not an issue for the Southland folks and they adjusted the booking accordingly. Ended up being just me and my daughter and the fantastic guide Michael. He shared so much information with us and was wonderful with my 3 year old. The variety of animals was great. We loved our animal encounters, such wonderful experiences. It had been raining all night before but somehow they managed to get that to stop for our tour (it started back up as soon as we were done)! Michael even recommended a Mexican restaurant for our lunch after - delicious food. Just a fantastic experience, would highly recommend to anyone and everyone.
