Small museum focusing on the 1862 battle between the Union and Confederate troops where Confederate General Forrest found himself caught between two Union forces, and ordered his troops to “Charge both ways”making a successful escape. There is a museum and a gift shop and a very nice lady who will give you good information. Accessible. Parking on the site.

Nice visitor center with many interesting books. Walking along the trails and the fence lines, and viewing the log cabin, was a definite step back in time. Very informative.

It was a great little museum for home school, it’s very kept up to date, and the bathrooms were lovely. Learned that every state in the union had its own money. That the civil war also had a hand in unifying the money for the central banks to monopolize.Easy to arrive; we used the place to plug a tea kettle in for hot water and bathrooms. Also learned some valuable history for free. It’s a great little stop for a rest area while traveling. The women was really nice and had lots of information.

Small but phenomenal museum and welcoming center. If you are lucky you will get to meet State Representative Steve McDaniel. He was with the 52nd Confederate Infantry Regiment, as was I. He was an extra in many of the Mini-series and movies about the War of Northern Aggression. He has a wealth of information about Parker's Crossroads and the Battle, and about the War of Northern Aggression. I always stop here and purchase items to help support the Battlefield preservation. It's definitely worth the stop!

If you are driving East or West on I-40 in Tennessee you have to get off at "Exit 108" and go to the "Parker's Crossroads Visitors Center"... It has Clean Rest Room's but it is not a federal supported rest stop... It is sanctioned/funded by the city of Parker's Crossroads... It has a paved Big Parking Lot in the rear,,, with several painted line Big Rig RV parking slot's... It's function is to show & tell about the Civil War Battle's that were fought in the 1,700 acre's of surrounding fields and woods... It has a Free Museum,,, Donation's excepted,,, with Artifact's from the Cival War era... And a 15 minute video explaining the Battle's and naming the Officers/Men that fought in them... They also have a Gift Shop with many Books about the Civil War time's back then..."It's a must stop" !!!

I ended up going from the last to the 1st stop. It really made me think. The battlefield is easy to get around and so significant. Bedford Forrest was an amazing figure.

We didn't have much time , so 5his review is only of 5he museum. Nice facility, half displays and half gift shop. Historic perspective o Col Bedford Forrest, a highly controversial person in southern history

This is a wonderful, easy to access, visitors center that details an important battle of the infamous Nathan Bedford Forrest. I'm not a fan of his, but he was a natural when it came to battle. There is no admission cost and they have a wonderful gift shop.Very nice people

The woman who was manning the desk was very helpful. There is a tiny but interesting little museum with a film. I chatted with the host and she sent me to a battlefield location I would never have known was there. It was a very nice park. Kudos to those who take care of it.Take your dog and go for a stroll. It's located right off of route 40. Check it out.

Though we are interested in the Civil War, we almost passed up this gem! Easy access from highway, this compact visitor's center revealed a compelling story of a local battle. Interpretive displays were presented in a single open space that was easy to navigate. A short video also told the story. This docent in the small gift shop explained that the center was created by the local community. Well done!

I loved this stop on my trip! I came across the Field of Flags which was numerous American flags with a Veteran's pictures attached. I went to the Visitors Center and had a delightful conversation with the gal working, who unfortunately, Ididn't get her name. Highly recommend stopping to view and visiting the Visitors Center which also has a gift shop.

I give it 5 stars for the visitors center and associated stops around the town. While not Gettysburg, they've done a great job procuring period artillery and artifacts. Also the signs around the trails are very informative and give you a sense and time line of the battle that you just can't get in a history class. That being said, if you bring children, expect them to be bored.
