INCREDIBLE!! What an oasis. This place has just about everything you can imagine in the way of foods, jams, home baked goods.They’ve got popcorn, rice krispy treats, salt water taffy, jams, jellies, pickled foods, soup mixes, bean mixes, tons of pastries and even a restaurant!!I enjoyed visiting and buying lots of pepper jelly.

Always a must stop when we pass near here.The lunch is always delicious.My kids went with the daily special which was a smoked pulled chicken sandwich. I opted for the all you can eat soup buffet. With 6 soup choices available, there's bound to be a couple that fit your fancy!

Wonderful staff. Amazing location. Great products. Great prices. I absolutely love love love this place. This my go to place to recharge myself. My mother in law who lives in Idaho, loads up. My late wouldn't allow regular store jelly or jams in our house. I'm the same way. I've always buy at least 3 jars.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😋😋😋😋😋

Usually shop here to get favs like the fried pies, honey, dog treats, roll butter, apple butter, sourdough bread etc. The selection of jams and jellies is the largest I've ever seen in any one place! I have never eaten there but its always busy on the cafe deli side where there are many sandwich offerings and daily specials offered as well.

This is an amazing place. The environment was on point and the food was delicious...The cashier was delightful and sweet and so was my waitress...I got there special for today witch was a shredded chicken sandwich and it was delicious...There other special look amazing and j can't wait to come try them...I also got a side of soup, and o my gosh it was the most delicious thing ever. The soup I got was loaded potatoe...Will definitely come again:)Service 100%Food 100%Environment 100%

Country store, restaurant, handmade cedar furniture, dry goods, preserves, candy, and even a petting zoo - everything but gas, beer, & cigarettes! The food is great; the staff is friendly; the tables are far enough apart to get comfortable; and the peacock is big. The turkeys & geese wander free, but the others are penned. Dangerous selection of sweets.

What a fun outing! We drove almost an hour to enjoy Backermann's, and it was worth it! A beautiful day to drive was icing on the cake.This is an Amish/ Mennonite store featuring fresh meats cheeses and baked goods. One side is a sandwich shop making good use of the meat department. They have several "named" sandwiches you can order, or you can build your own. They also have a soup bar with about 8 different kinds.The other side is the store with the meat counter and baked goods. The shelves are loaded with jams, jellies, pickled goods, along with nuts and candies. Rounding out the store is a variety of items from sewing notions and toys to soaps and homeopathic medicines.Outside features different cedar and cypress rockers and other furniture. There was also a variety of beautiful plants in urns and hanging pots.We didn't make it to the back to see what other animals were sharing a space with a Tom Turkey!Go hlhave some fun at Backermann's!

I got the Turkey Reuben at their cafe and it was INCREDIBLE. Very cool store as well with unique flavors of jams and breads. Definitely worth your time and money. Everyone there was so nice.

Lots and lots to love about this place. It’s just about everything one could expect at/from a Mennonite-run restaurant and country store. Incredibly friendly staff, fun country-style food and gift options, and all easily accessible right off the highway. A Whiteville must-do!

Really like this place and wish I were closer.Stop in every time I pass through and load up on stuff to take home. Food is great. Market is full of fresh groceries at good prices. Staff is great and couldn’t be any nicer. It’s always a pleasure doing business with them.

I got a pizzarini. It's basically a grilled cheese with pepperoni and you dip it in Mariana sauce. It was hot and fresh. Bread was toasted to perfection. The service was fast and professional. I love all their little bakery and deli items they offer. Great place to shop and eat. Safe for people of all ages.

🙋🏻 Great food and friendly customer service!Today I enjoyed the potato soup and a turkey deli sandwich! Then my husband bought me a cowboy boot pendant necklace for only $8, and some very crunchy and delicious peanut brittle, some homemade strawberry jam and some oatmeal raisin bread to take home!It’s the 2nd time we’ve gone, definitely worth the drive!And on the way back home in Cordova/Memphis I caught a good photo of cotton bolls wrapped up like carpet rolls — never saw that before. It’s definitely a “Southern thang!” (I’m originally from Iowa.)

I love going to this store. We always eat lunch here too. We had a Ruben Sandwich and a side of Pasta Salad. It was delicious. We always buy their fried pies and take them home. If you are in the area. It is a must stop and enjoy.

I ordered a swing from Backermans in May and was told it would arrive in early July. I called to check on it and got told it wouldn’t be until late July. Then in late July I called 3 times for an update and was eventually told that the swing I ordered wasn’t made anymore and they couldn’t get it. Disappointed I waited 2 months for a product that they couldn’t supply. Would’ve been nice to know up front or sooner in the process.

Excellent as always. Love all the fresh baked breads and cookies. Lots of great jellies and kitchen staples as well as prepared meals and so much more. Best deli sandwiches anywhere. We always love visiting the goats out back too. It's our favorite way to spend a Saturday.

Loved, Loved, Loved this store! My spouse and I were looking for a place that sold canned preserves and this place did not disappoint! I even purchased some things that I wasn't looking for like, pickled green tomatoes (great in a salad by the way) and homemade strawberry jalapeno jam. It was certainly worth the 1 hour drive. We will be making this a regular outing.
