Food was good. Prices are a little high for what you get. Breads are good. Pies are a waste of money. My rhubarb pie tasted like refrigerator. The crusts are dense and chewy. Service is a little lacking. If you're going to charge an alacarte menu the least you could do is carry it out to the table for your guests.

This is a great place to get a sub or a sandwich that's a large portion and made hot and to order. Nothing is pre-made so if you are in a hurry mabey time your visit for less busy times. The prices are a little expensive but definitely get what you pay for when visiting here. Outdoor seating for social distancing if preferred. Thanks for the great food!

We went this afternoon after our hiking. We had BBQ is today's special on the list. The portion is plenty with reasonable price. I saw two lawn mowing group stopped by. Some of them only finished half of their meal and half meal to go.

BEST food in Unicoi county and beyond!! I have never been disappointed in the least! Explore the menu, because it is all amazing, and they have daily specials, too! The only thing I wish was different- they are closed on Mondays, and so my husband and I can't go there for a date lunch (I'm off on Sunday and Monday). You HAVE to get dessert! It's all homemade! 🤪

They take good care of customers. Took family visiting from out of state this past Friday. The food was awesome, over the top delicious and more than we could eat in one setting. First Philly cheesesteak I ordered there, it was nice that the meat and cheese ratio was more than the bread it was served on. Twice now I have been, and twice now I have left fully satisfied. Hospitality was perfect.

Fantastic experience. The food was incredible, the staff were so friendly and professional mannered which is unfortunately not so common anymore! The inside that i could see was very clean. I have a history in food service and know the common things to look for-and that kitchen looked great. Also, there's outside dining in a covered area and they even had managed to keep that area impeccable- bug free, kept clean, the trash wasn't swarming with bees and such. The food portions were huge and the quality was good. All in all, i took the time to write this because it was an impressive experience and i truly felt they deserved the brag. I would strongly encourage anyone to try this local deli- i had absolutely zero complaints. And yes, the desserts are as good as they look!!

My husband and I had a cheese and steak sandwich that was really really delicious and one sandwich was too big for both of us to eat it was very feeling and delightful we enjoyed our dinner and do plan on going back they were also very courteous.

We usually enjoy our meals here. My Ruben was great. My wife's burger was too dry, over cooked, but enjoyed her mushrooms and fries. She wasn't given an option on how she wanted her burger which I think is standard.

Whistle Stop Deli is our go-to lunch spot when we crave a big sub sandwich. The 12" is enough for 3 meals and the quality of everything they make is excellent. With low prices, food quality and wonderful smiling faces in the staff, it's a winning combination! We highly recommend them for any item on the menu!

Homemade breads for your sandwiches. The corned beef Reuben is my all-time favorite...comes with tons of sauerkraut! With a side of potato cakes and I'm in heaven right there at the railroad track! Ms Wanda is fantastic in her kitchen and serves great food time after time. Loaves of homemade bread are available also.

Absolutely delicious. Had the pan fried chicken mashed potatoes and green beans with homemade rolls! So good staff very friendly. Also offers outdoor dining with an enclosed dining area outside as well.

So we heard about the whistle stop An finally tried it. 28 bucks for lunch y’all 😳 I had pan fried chicken my husband had the Ruben sandwich... listen y’all the chicken was so dry couldn’t eat it I took it home to my dogs. The green beans are just from a can nothing special added. The sandwich was so hot had to wait 20 min to even eat it. The ladies work was super busy but still friendly. It’s ok food not somewhere I would choose to go eat again way over priced for what it is.

Overrated! Will never be back! I've wanted to eat here for years and the few times I have been by it had been closed. I've always heard good things. Today I got to eat here for the first time today so I was pretty excited. It didn't take me long to be very disappointed.....the sandwiches were mediocre (it took 30 minutes to get the sandwiches) , waaaayyyyyy overpriced ($48.00 for only 4 sandwiches, no fries no sides, no anything else) my wrap was mostly lettuce, and the organization from where you order to the dining area is a poor, not very well thought of layout. I was highly unimpressed with it, and so was the rest of my family.

Second time here. Food varies between average to great. Waffle fries were cooked/heated up on the flat top which we could tell and we're very oily and not good. I ordered the BLT with green tomato for my meal. Wife ordered a cheeseburger. Fresh and tasty, bacon was very, very salty. Overall good. Food is served outside. You order outside and go inside to retrieve. Customer service was good, staff is very kind.The desserts look amazing. Will try those next.Aside from the food, my biggest disappointment was the garbage cans full, nearly overflowing onto the floor. Full of styrofoam. Everything comes in styrofoam, even the drinks. Box for the fries, box for a burger, box for my sandwich. I would think they could offer your food in paper wraps and cut the waste or ask if you're dining in to offer reusable cups and plates. This was sad to see for me as this region is becoming focused on sustainability with some of the most beautiful landscapes. Also the bathroom did not have hot water and soap dispensers failed to work. There was yet another small styrofoam container on the sink with what seemed like Dawn soap one could pour into your hands or dip your hands into.. strange I thought.Overall I would go again as the area is limited in choices but would also try the desserts !

The Philly subs are huge! A huge meal for two!! For real. Raspberry tea is good. I seen luizianne bags .. The best! Hamburger was great. And the dessert.. omg! Amish! All made from scratch!!
