This is a nice, local grocery store. You can even pick up a few souvenirs. This has all the offerings of a typical grocery just not as many options as some of your larger stores. You could smell the deli and hot foods available when you walk in the store. Jim was the cashier that checked us out and he did a great job! He was very nice. Each checkout is manned by a cashier, so no self-checkout. It was kind of nice.

So I've always enjoyed the deli. It's managed well. I'm about to leave negative reviews for every time I get diesel fuel on these slow pumps. We have been telling the service counter every time that they are slow. Please fix them.

This is a great little supermarket/convenience store. We loved the fact that it was locally ran, with local people that were super nice. We love the fact that they were able to promote some of their own employees by selling some of their goods in the store. We were a little disappointed on the availability of some products, as well as the overall cost of items. The overall grocery bill came to be quite expensive for just a few items for a small stay.

Very friendly Staff, and a good variety of products for a smaller store than we are used to. Also has warm food for a quick lunch break. Was very pleased. Also seems to be the only place in town as of right now for diesel fuel, but put on your patience cap, because it pumps extremely slow.

After hearing several of my hiking buddies talk about how good their deli was, stopped by after a trip through Cades Cove and was not disappointed!❤️Got some hot wings and wedges to enjoy back up in the park. The food was just awesome! The staff were so friendly. Will definitely be making more trips back for lunch!

I love this little store. Every time we go to the Smokies we have to visit this IGA. I always stock up on the beets .I also buy raw peanuts to make boiled peanuts .We are from Indiana and those are hard to find . Their ready made deli food is also delicious .

Coming into the area at edge of TN almost to NC at the entrance if Smokey Mountains it was nice to see a simple store open still at night. Made it an easy run in and grab food to cook for the family on our 1st evening in the area along with the simple things that make it easy without having to go back right away the next day.

Best fried chicken in the world. If you need something, they have got it. Carries things that I haven’t seen since I was a kid. Left there with a real good feeling, it made my day.

Best grocery on the quiet side of the Smokies. Great deli and a large selection of other groceries

A little on the expensive side...most items were almost double what you would pay at Walmart or Kroger but since they are the only grocery store around they can do that. Will get groceries before we get there next time...lesson learned.

Nice little hometown grocery store with very nice people. Great place to get a cup of coffee and a breakfast sandwich in the morning. The three stars is for the grocery prices. It is a tourist grocery store and the prices reflect that. Your at a campground and need it and I have it. A thing of strawberries was $7.99 and they were no where near fresh. Go to Food Lion in Maryville it's extra gas but you'll still come out ahead. I live in Townsend and only go there for coffee, gas and lottery tickets. They need to have a locals discount like some of the restaurants in town. I like to support local businesses but not at those prices. I can't afford it.

Friendly Service, Clean Store with a variety of products. Highly recommended the Townsend IGA experience over a trip to the nearest Walmart.

Very nice store. The deli food looked suspect, but my wife enjoyed it.

The store was pretty clean and staff was super friendly, despite being closing time while we were ending our shopping. They had mostly everything we needed for essentials for our first day arrival, but it was a Sunday night so to be expected. It was pricey for the most part, but we haven't gone anywhere else yet to compare.

Great little grocery store. Usually crowded with slow checkout, but we always get our Townsend groceries here. Deli chicken is yummy! And they have a gas station.

Terrible grocery store experience. Store was very crammed and not well laid out. Steak options super limited and the ones we got ended up being very low quality and gristly. Had wine and beer but both were limited selections. Bought a pack of hamburger buns, got them back to our condo to find that all were COVERED in mold. Worst of all was the woman waiting on us at the check out. She would pick up an item, look at it for a second or two, then scan it. We stood there forever waiting to get out of the store. I would suggest they install a self check out if this is the best quality employee you can find. Finally, the cost = $237. Total price gouging.

I’m in the area for a half marathon, so I stopped by to grab some gatorades, yogurt, granola, oats, and fruit. The grapes were delicious! Everything was easy to find and checkout was fast. It’s a good location in a small town.

Decent but small store and VERY overpriced. They have a monopoly on groceries in the small town. I don't begrudge them at all just mentioning that for bargins (almost half price) try the dollar general to the east. This store does have good produce and meats with a few store brands that are cheaper. They also a pretty large wine and cheese section.

Love my hometown grocery. IGA has a good meat department and prices are comparable to larger stores. There is a fine deli where a person can get a meal. Good beer and wine selection, too.

This is a fine location, but do not expect friendly service. We did have a decent cashier that was friendly. She did mention she was new. However, as exiting (it was close to closing time) the doors were locked. My dad and I stared at the employees and because no one said anything about exiting, we then very slowly unlocked the doors. We made it through 2 doors before a different young worker with a ponytail snarkly said "You know there's another exit, right?" This was so disrespectful considering that no one directed us to the "correct" exit. It was such an unnecessary comment to make as the only way of conversing with customers. I hope this girl gets customer service training. This was at about 8:50 on 6/16/23. I wish I would have got her name. The store is fairly clean and easy to grab things quickly, but I will be avoiding this location due to this experience.

Great place to pick up any food items or fill up with gas. Quick and easy stop. We stayed in this area for two nights and stopped here twice to get what we needed. My kid had to get the new flavor of Takis.
