We had a fantastic time during our camping trip! Service was excellent and a HUGE thank you to Jeff for helping me get the camper parked couldn’t have done it without you! This is be far the prettiest, and maintained campground we have visited! There was plenty of room between sites and it was away from all the traffic. We had a pretty big windstorm while we were there and the maintenance workers were up a dawn picking up limbs and checking everything out. They were top notch! We will definitely be back!

This is a "Holiday" KOA so it has amenities for campers who stay away and look for entertainment. It is just outside and entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The "Little River" flows by the edge of the campground then into the National Park. some sites back up to the river. There are many trees in the campground. The bathroom and other building facilities are dated in design but clean, neat and spotless in appearance. I feel the whole campground is well maintained. I have a high-end site, $100/night but I like the space. All sites are gravel. Mine was in excellent condition. Very quiet at night. No AT&T cell service but the campground WiFi worked very well all the time.

Best KOA, right at the door step of the Great Smokys National Park. Everyone was lovely and Mary made us feel like family immediately. We stayed in one of the smaller cabins which was beautiful. Smelt like a sauna, warmed with a heater and super cozy. Even had a fridge and TV though we spent the night at the campfire. Bathroom/ laundry facilities were super clean and nice. Thanks so much!

This was by far the nicest KOA we have stayed. Entire campground was clean, shady and peaceful. The location in Townsend is for sure the peaceful side of the Smokies but just a short drive to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The site attendant went above and beyond leading us and backing us into our site which was much appreciated. The Little River flows right beside the campground and our boys enjoyed fishing and catching rainbow trout. Our dogs enjoyed Kamp K9. Definitely recommend.

Great value for the money and a wonderful staff. We really enjoyed staying here away from the hustle of Gatlinburg. Our little cabin by the river was perfect, very cozy and clean with some homey touches. There's a space heater for the winter, which was much appreciated. We used our firepit every night and the fridge was great for keeping our food in the cabin. Even the public bathrooms were heated and kept clean. Staff was very nice too-- we arrived late and they left everything ready for us. Townsend is small but has everything you need, and it's closer to Cades Cove than Gatlinburg. I definitely want to come back again for a longer stay!

I remember coming to this campground (aka Little River) every summer when I was little with my family and wanted my kids to experience it as well. SO happy we did! Overall great experience. Staff very friendly, cabins are great, bathhouses very clean considering how old they are, and the campground still has little activities on the weekend, go bingo!! Ready to book our next weekend getaway. Great job KOA!
