The place is very nice and well kept. The waitress I had was very attentive and nice, she would talk to us like we were actual people.As for the food, very good. I had the biggest and best pieces of okra I have ever had in my life here, I want to know where they get it from. I also got the hamburger steak, which was very good.Edit: Just went back today for the rainbow trout, very good!

This is a true gem of a restaurant! Breakfast menu is small but gives enough variety for everyone to be happy. I had the Philly Cheese omelet and it was amazing! It was loaded with steak. Best breakfast I've had in a long time. The pancakes are also a good choice. Only improvement I can think of is to offer real maple syrup for instead of store bought. Those pancakes are too good for Log Cabin! We will definitely be back.

This is just your grandmother’s country cooking, which is what I like. If you’re one of those people who like a two inch chunk of tofu served in the center of a large plate, with a touch of garnish; then this isn’t for you. I had their pot roast, with homemade mashed potatoes and turnip greens. That pot roast was the best! The plate was full; so, I came away stuffed! I paid $17.00, a reasonable price for this area and I definitely got my money’s worth.

After seeing all the reviews I was expecting something good… but boy was I disappointed.Came in and stood waiting for 10 minutes with zero acknowledgement from the waitresses. They clearly saw us because they seated the couple in front of us and looked at us multiple times after. But after that, they ran around refilling water, taking orders and serving food for other tables. Completely ignored us. If they simply said “hey we are a little busy; we will get to you in a sec”, I wouldn’t have minded. But instead, they acted like we weren’t there. We were also the only people of color in the restaurant so maybe it was a race thing. Either way I was incredibly disappointed and irritated.We left after patiently waiting for 10 minutes and went to subway instead. One of their reviews said it was the best restaurant in Townsend and sadly I think it was correct.

After spending a chilly rainy day in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park we emerged out in the town of Townsend. Being a small town I didn’t know what to expect for dinner eating places. Thank you Yelp for having this place listed.If you want good old fashion home cooked meals, this is the place to go! Friendly staff and great food, met another couple and we shared a table for four. Felt like family there. The pot roast dinner will fill your belly and then some. My wife had the fried baloney sandwich and loved it.If you’re in this town and looking for a place to get some great food and make new friends, this would be the place.

We came for dinner and had great service! I'm from Texas so I know good Southern cooking so was pleasantly satisfied. We were staying in the campgrounds in the NP so decided to come-back the next day for breakfast, equally delicious food ! Great family owned restaurant, with friendly staff and great service! This beats any of the restaurants you'll find in Gatlinburg that have the "corporate franchise " feel to it....which are almost 95% of them. Come to Townsend for food! Support small business!

Amazing food and amazing service! We had the open faced roast beef, barbecue pulled pork, green fried tomatoes, and peach cobbler. All of it was delicious! The peach cobbler was the best I've ever had in my life. Our server Jaima was wonderful. Cozy and spacious atmosphere. We will be back!!

We were looking for a good restaurant for lunch and came across the Riverstone, the waitress' were friendly and attentive. Thanks Kendra. The food was delicious, I got a burger and fries, it was good sized and came with a lot of fries. My wife got the trout and said is was some of the best fish she's ever had. She also got the mashed potatoes, I wish I had got the mashed potatoes. The restaurant was clean and had Air conditioning. I never thought I would have to point that out but after yesterday I thought it might help others. We will return next time we are in the area.Parking: There is a large lot out back than can hold large vehicles and has plenty of room to maneuver around.

We ate here 3 times during our stay. The breakfast is simple but very good. The green tomatoes are very thick & we prefer them thinner but that’s a personal preference still really good !! The blt wasn’t a hit for us. Hubby said the shrimp basket wasn’t something he would eat again either it wasn’t ‘real’ shrimp just small battered shrimp pieces. Definitely worth the breakfast though !

We're staying in the Lonestar Cabby across the street from this place and decided to try the food for lunch, let me just say being from South Louisiana, I'm picky about my food, but the pot roast I just had was amazing, tender, juicy, well seasoned, better than my grandma's and that's saying something, and the turnip greens were great also. The portions were large, I was highly satisfied, I highly recommend! I'll definitely be back!

EVERYTHING that we ordered here was delicious! We started off fried green tomatoes and the order was larger than we had anticipated. They were very good and it was almost like they were deep fried. She ordered catfish and chips and I ordered the BLT. She said her catfish was great, though I never got to try it! Her fries were excellent. My BLT was very good, it had just the right amount of bacon on it and they even toasted the bread. I had turnip greens with it and there were tasty also. For dessert we had sort of a blueberry cobbler cheesecake... I cannot describe how delicious this was! The waitress was very friendly and the decor was very nice; almost had a homely feeling to it.We also both had iced tea, which I would recommend. I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area!!

Great food! Clean restaurant. Staff was friendly, but not interactive with our group. We had a party of 6 and we enjoyed our visit here. Lots of great choices and everything was delicious. Portions were large so you got plenty to eat. If you walk away hungry that's your fault. I loved the hometown restaurant feel. I am a fan of local flavor and this was local flavor at it's finest.

This place is not the same place I visited years ago. I love that we stopped in here to discover a completely new restaurant. Service from Sadie M. started out great with getting our drinks and getting our order. The food came and OMG was it good. More food that we thought we were going to get. I was the only one to finish it all. I ordered a cat fish po'boy. It was made perfect with a butter grilled hoagie with so much stuff I could not close it. The wife ordered a burger that was huge. Mom got a shrimp and okra basket. Everyone was so very pleased. Something happened to our waitress Sadie but when the other waitresses noticed us looking around for her they kicked into gear and picked up the slack. Kudos to the staff for the excellent cover. We all look forward to trying more here.Parking: Limited spots in the front of the building, lots of parking in the back.

Stopped here after a trip through Smoky Mountain National Park. Nice restaurant we happened upon. Our waitress was very friendly and prompt. My pulled pork was very good and my fries crispy. I had a cup of homemade chili that was tasty. My husband had a burger that was huge and very good.

This was the worst breakfast I have had. The food was inedible. The best part of the meal was the ice cold water that perhaps had more flavor than all of the food combined. Everything is prepackaged. The eggs are a type of consistency I could not recreate if I tried. The omelette was rubber with cheese on top. The sausage was rehydrated sausage flavor hockey pucks. Clearly partially thawed as all the food came out cold. The bread was even terrible! How is that even possible?They forgot one person's food all together. The gravy clearly was just powdered gravy. I can't even describe the grits. The waitress was so incompetent I had to change my order because she could not understand simple modifications on an omelet. They even claimed they were farm fresh eggs. Impossible! The experience was all around awful. Plus the food was very expensive. Don't waste you precious time and money.
