We stepped into Smoky Mountain Outdoor Center just to check it out. The stoor is nicely laid out with a vast selection of outdoor gear. It had a very similar feeling as REI, just on a smaller scale. The guy working was friendly and helpful. If you are in the area and need to pick up something, definitely stop into SMOC.

What a very nice store. The gentlemen working that day were extremely nice and helpful. The music being played while shopping was very enjoyable. We got to talking about one of the songs and one of the fellas put on another song by the artist. I picked up a book and some awesome stickers. I will definitely be back.

Great place, great location. Love being able to hit multiple little shops. This has anything you could need to be outdoors.They occasionally even host outdoor trails by one of the people. Very informative.

Stopped over at SMOC after eating some breakfast in the cafe next door and was pleasantly surprised in all aspects. The store is well stocked with great brands, high quality gear and a great selection. The staff is also incredibly friendly and embodies southern hospitality at its' finest. I was helped by a gentleman named Ryan McNutt who was extremely friendly and helpful. He took the time to show me a map of the area and point out trails that he thought I would find of interest. Discussed local trails that were ideal for different seasons depending on what I was looking for. Will definitely stop into SMOC whenever in the area.

Great customer service! This is by far the best place to tube on the river! We have only had good experiences every time we go. I love that the boats have bottoms and they offer tether straps to help your group stay together. The store has the best selection.

Nice selection of quality clothing, local hiking/national park books, and a decent variety of stuff you may need for a hike but left at home. Also some park-related retro postcards and stickers that make nice gifts or souvenirs. OH, they have hiking dresses made in NC that are intriguing, I may have to get one next trip.Staff: super nice!Accessibility: ramp makes for easy access for those in need.

The staff are nice but the business seems to be headed downhill. We spent quite a bit of our time standing around waiting since they didn't have any tubes inflated and only had 1 bus running and their spot to get in the river was across a busy road. Loved it years ago, but will take my family elsewhere next summer.

We had a great experience tubing with SMOC. Entire staff was amazing and helpful. We had no waiting and the tubes are the best on the water, hands down. We were able to tube, eat lunch, and tube again. Perfect for families with kids of all ages. They provide tethers to keep kids close or you can let them float free. We will definitely be back!

We went tubing with Smokey mountain outdoor center last weekend. The staff were great, super friendly. Their store was really cool and the tubes were much more heavy duty than other tubes we saw on the river. Highly recommend giving them a try!

Very nice store. A lot of quality clothing and general camping accessories. Located by a good restaurant is a plus. They have a very impressive selection of maps and informational literature about the park.

They make you feel so welcome and treat every customer like family. Much nicer tubes than the local competition. And the retail store has a really great selection. I can't think of a better way to spend the day, make some new friends and float the river.

Very good food and a nice gift shop beside it as well. Parking lot is a little bit tight but nothing major. Getting in and out off the main road was very easy to get in and out. Oh yea did I say GREAT FOOD......AWSOME SWEET TEA to...it was my first time there and will not be the last.

One of the best places we found during our visit to the Smokies. Very friendly staff and lots of nice things to biy in the shop. The float was a gem, definitely worth the time and money, which as a deal compared to all the other things to do. Just wish we would have went earlier.

Just went with a group of 13 friends and we had a great time!!! Great deal. The tubes are better quality than the other companies nearby. There's a nice shop with snacks and outdoor gear. The staff is super laid back and accomodating. We will be back!

Cool operation. Lots of great gear options and comfortable tubes. Fun bus ride back up the river. Be prepared to wait a little as they fill the tubes but it goes much faster than you would expect. The fresh air is the best!

Everything about this place was amazing!! Super friendly, relaxed, and helpful staff. Great prices, even compared to places nearby with similar services. As a bonus for tubing, their tubes are made for white water rafting so they’re very thick and have a nice mesh bottom. Would highly recommend this outdoor center!!

These people treated my family like we were a part of their family. Great fun on the river better prices than the other places . Better tubes than the others as well more durable and comfortable. When I return I’ll be using this company again and again.

Good selection of outdoor name brand apparel. Definitely room for more gear. Corbyn was a good host and we were surprised to find 40% of the entire store when we visited. I bet this place is packed out in the summer time.

Great workers! Great activity! Yes I would use this company again. Bathroom and changing areas were clean. We liked that they had a food truck there on the weekend. The day we went the water was pretty low, but they told us that before we purchased tickets. It took about 2 and 1/2 hours to float down river section. The entry point is pretty rocky, and took a bit to get in to the water flow area, during higher water this might be better. Liked that they had a cement ramp to get to the water. I would recommend that they start inflatting the tubes as they come back in, and not waiting until they had all of them, that would speed up the process just a little more. The exit point area has a smaller area where you can touch and if you not all the way over to the left its a little hard working around the current in that spot. Might be nice if they had a rope or something to toss to someone to help get them out. Walking up the hill wasn't too bad but could be a bit better, the afternoon was a bit more slippery because of the water dripping off the people.General info/recomendations for people going. If you have a little one we found it easier to have them in their own tube with bottom and tether an adult tube together with them. Tubing with child in same tube as adult was more difficult. If you have a mesh bag that is good to tie to a handle on your tube to hold bottle water.
