Stayed at the Bear Cave and were disappointed. Cabin on outside has deteriorated over the years. Outside area needs to be cleaned up. Cover to hot tub was covered with leaves as was the deck. Not much of a stream anymore as advertised. Grill was unpleasing. We did not use hot tub or grill. Cabin itself is nice inside. The bathroom sink has no plug and we found a bug in sink. Needless to say we did not use the jacuzzi. Bed was comfy. Close to area attractions that we were interested in. Cabin definitely needs lots of TLC.

Our family rented Black Bear Falls for Spring Break this year and loved it! The cabin was decorated nicely, was very clean, and the owners were extremely helpful. We did a variety of activities and found the location of the cabin very convenient. We especially enjoyed how easy it was to navigate to the Great Smokey Mountains! At the end of vacation, our kids didn't want to go home :) I would recommend this cabin to anyone.

A five-star rental indeed! Thanks to Black Bear Hollow Cabin Rentals our 3-year anniversary vacation was splendid. It was our first time staying at Over the Rainbow, and this home did not fail to please...it really did exceed our expectations.From the moment we walked in the door, it felt warm and cozy. Not only that, the space is amazing! High ceilings, plenty of seating in the dining and living areas, oversized bedrooms (many with connecting/master baths), a full living area on the lower-level (including pool table and air hockey), an outdoor jacuzzi, and the best thing ever--a 10-seat theater room with a massive TV equipped with surround sound. Each bedroom also has a deck with a mountain view that you'd have to see to believe. During our stay we never left the home. Everything we needed was there and if we could have stayed longer, we certainly would.Many thanks to Mark and Debbie for being exceptional owners, and allowing us to share a special moment of our lives in this fine cabin. What a great week we had staying in Black Bear Falls. When we arrived we were impressed with how clean the cabin was. The entire week I did not see one bug anywhere inside the the property. It was very quiet and secluded and the paved drive was a plus with our motorcycles. The kitchen was well equipped and the hot tub was a welcome spot after a hard day of riding the beautiful roads in the area. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone wanting to stay in the area, easy access to the Smoky Mountain National Park and also to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The owners were easy to work with and everything was as promised. We look forward to working with them again in the future,

This was our first vacation in Tennessee and most definitely plan on returning. We absolutely LOVED the cabin! It was more than we imagined! The location was great and not too difficult for a "Floridian" to access. The view was beautiful. We enjoyed the sunrise, the scenery, the privacy and was amazed by the natural beauty of the light snow fall the morning we had to leave.The cabin was clean and we only had one issue with the electric in the game room area which was simply switching on the breaker.I have already recommended your cabins to several friends in here Florida! We look forward to returning and taking advantage of the hospitality provided.

We have been staying at Black Bear Hollow Cabins for several years now. We usually visit 1-3 x's a year. There are MANY cabins to chose from in the area but we have found Black Bear Hollow is perfect for us. We love the fact that they are nestled in a hollow and not crammed up next to each other. The peace and seclusion is just what we need to get away from our hectic, stressful work schedules. If you have never stayed in Townsend aka The Peaceful Side of the Smokies; you are really missing a great experience. The Townsend/Wears Valley area is clean, quaint, quiet and really only about 10 minutes or so to Pigeon Forge. Our first 2014 trip to Black Bear Hollow was March 9-12. Our stay, once again, was fabulous! We stayed in Bear Creek which is our favorite cabin. Our son stayed in Bear Ridge this trip & absolutely loved it. We have always been impressed with the cabins as well as the customer service from Mark & Debbie. Black Bear Hollow offers everything we want in accommodations & therefore we see no reason to stay anywhere else....EVER!

WOW! Amazing cabin! We had 12 people staying for our vacation. The cabin had plenty of room for us all. The teenagers enjoyed the game room. Played pool every night. And the view was breath taking. Each morning we could go out on the deck and have our morning coffee and watch the sun come up. We grilled out one night and enjoyed us all sitting together outside. The Master bedroom was where my husband and I stayed and it was amazing, plenty of room, our own balcony and the bathroom was huge. Dual shower heads :) There was nothing I could say against this wonderful cabin. Mark and Debbie are very sweet to talk to and was very helpful on our directions coming in. Thanks for letting us enjoy your wonderful place. We most certainly be returning to "Over the Rainbow" !!

Over the last eight years or so, we have stayed many times at Black Bear Hollow in three different cabins in every season except deep winter. Every time we have had an enjoyable experience.The cabins are all very comfortable and well-maintained as are the grounds. We really appreciate the location, secluded and quietyet highly accessible, just minutes away from good restaurants, shopping and, of course, the beautiful Smoky Mountains National Park. If you are looking for a place to relax, Black Bear Hollow, is a great choice.

We spent 3 nights at the Bear Cave Cabin last week and really enjoyed it. I had searched for hours online trying to find a cabin that was secluded and reasonably priced. Many of the ones I looked at had outrageous processing fees, hot tub fees, etc. We only paid for the nightly rate, plus tax and a small cleaning fee. No other hidden costs. The cabin was very clean and nicely furnished. We looked at some of the other Black Bear Hollow Cabins while we were there and they all looked great. We may try a different one when we go back, but we will definitely be staying at one of the Black Bear Hollow cabins when we do go back. The cabin had everything we needed except for the food. It even had a clothes washer and dryer, and wireless internet. We couldn't be more pleased with our stay.

My family and I have stayed at Over the Rainbow three times a year for the last several years. I can't say how much we love the cabin. It is everything they say it is. Recently I went without my family and needed a smaller cabin so I looked to see what Black bear Hollow rental offered and booked a 2 bedroom cabin called Paradise Ridge. It was great too. Black Bear Hollow Cabins was the perfect environment for those looking for a private, secluded setting nestled in the Smokey Mountains! My family and I come to the Smokey's about every other year, this was our first stay with Black Bear Hollow Cabins, but after the amazing adventure we experienced it will be our new tradition! The Black Bear Cave Cabin was perfect for just my wife and I, but after walking the property one evening we discovered there are larger cabins on the grounds that would be perfect for families or groups of any size. We had a black bear friend hanging around our cabin the first two days we were there and we were lucky enough to experience 5 more black bear sightings in the near by Cades Cove area! The deer and other wildlife the area has to offer was just breath taking - A must have family adventure on anyones summer agenda! Truly a once in a lifetime experience and we highly recommend Black Bear Hollow Cabins for anyone looking for a peaceful adventure off the beaten path!

Rented black bear ridge cabin. It was really a very nice cabin. The cabin is already some years old but very well maintained. On arrival the cabin was spotless clean!!! The jacuzzi outside is a plus, the same with the barbecue.It is very quiet and you have a lot privacy. The only bad thing was we rented it only for 3 days. We’ll go back for sure.

Stayed 4 days at Bear Mountain CabinI wish I could give it 0 stars.When we arrived at the property we were sent to the wrong cabin....should have taken this as a sign for what was coming.The washing machine leaked.Dryer had a whole in it.All windows were dirty and covered in webs.Non of the smoke detectors work.Upstairs shower leaked through the ceiling and into the kitchen.Hot tub cover was broken.My wife's allergies plagued her the whole time, we assume because everything was covered in dust.Do NOT stay here.

We have stayed here three times now and really enjoyed the cabins. Very clean & comfortable furniture with rockers on the porch. Everything you need is there just like home. Loved the hot tub after a long day in the park. Super close to cades cove you can go spot wildlife every evening then have a cocktail in the hot tub afterwards. Will be back next year!

Stayed in the "over the rainbow" cabin for the week after Christmas. 11 occupants.Let's start with the good. Fantastic view from the porch! Clear view out over the valley and most of the light from nearby pigeon forge is blocked out. So great viewing of the stars at night!Plenty of room for all guests. All had their own bed and nearby bathroom.This place is in need of a renovation and update!! It's just worn out and tired.Here is a small list of issues we faced1. Not a single usable knife in the kitchen! Lots of knives but none will cut anything.2 pool tables are unstable. Cue ball is noticeably dented and has holes. Only 3 cues l, all battered, and only 1 has a tip. No chalk anywhere.3. Air hockey table could fall apart at any moment. Constantly shifts. side panels are bowed, LEDs are out, pucks are worn out and only float on one side.4. Upstairs shower leaks to the kitchen. The book covers this and they say it's the shower curtain. I barely fit in any of the showers as they are 3x3 size. I'm 6'2“5. Theater. Nice sized tv. All the seats are for children lol. The speaker literally fell off the wall. The surround system doesn't work, and wasn't even hooked up.6 ceiling fans haven't been cleaned in quite some time. Literally caked in dust on the blades.7 main windows need to be cleaned. See pics

BEAUTIFUL SPACIOUS CABIN!!!Black Bear Hollow Cabin Rentals process and professionalism beyond expectations.This cabin is in a great location for all Cades Cove activities and the area offers great restaurants nearby.The cabin layout and facilities were perfect for an 8 girl family trip.The balcony provided peace with nature and a great cup of coffee.We would definitely stay here again!!!

This is probably our 7th stay at Black Bear Hollow cabins and as always a wonderful stay. The cabins are always clean and comfortable and we are always sad to leave. Only one thing in Black bear falls the dishwasher and air hockey didnt work when we stayed in September hopefully it works for our return in May 2019.

Stayed at the Bear Mountain cabin, and it was the perfect space for a trip away. Clean, quiet, and management is amazing! Had an issue with the TV, and Danny immediately dropped everything to buy a new TV and drive it over. I would love to make this a regular trip :)

Precious Memories was an outstanding cabin.We had three couples in the cabin with private bathrooms on each floor. Friends from Texas came and joined us. We had such a wonderful time and have agreed to make it a yearly event. The views were spectacular. Couldn't have asked for a better place :)

We had such fun staying in the Black Bear Creek in Black Bear Hollow last Christmas that we decided to reserve again for this year and invite more famliy along. It did not disappoint. In fact, they had since made some upgrades to the furniture and put in new gas logs for the fireplace. We also enjoyed the firepit outside on one of our milder nights along with the hottub. This year since we stayed a couple of days longer, we were able to check out the general stores and even a Christmas Eve candlelight service just down the road. We love staying in the area, and especially Black Bear Hollow for our holiday. Thanks again!

We stayed at the Over the Rainbow "cabin." Million dollar home with a million dollar view. Well appointed, well-stocked, & clean. Great home for an extended family get-together. We held our wedding here, with the ceremony on the deck overlooking the mountains.Convenient to the National Park, Gatlinburg, and Dollywood.Everyone was so impressed, we're planning another visit around the holidays and my daughter is planning a couples weekend with her friends.Great place!!!

We stayed in Bear Cave October 7th-12th. It was more perfect than the pictures look. Everything was very clean, organized, and put together when we arrived. It was easy to get to, and the perfect place to walk into after a long drive from MN. This has to be the cutest cabin I have ever stayed in! We couldn't have asked for more. We used the nice kitchen for meals nightly, sat in the hot tub almost every night, had bon fires, and relaxed in the Jacuzzi tub. We actually both agreed we don't think we saw everything we could have in the area because we didn't want to leave the cabin! One evening roasting marshmallows by the bonfire an adorable bear walked across the gravel road about 50 yards in front of us. We watched as it made its way up the wooded hill! That was a pretty cool thing to see. We visited during the government shut down, so the entire park and a lot of things to do were closed. This cabin totally made up for that, and we couldn't have had a better honeymoon. We WILL be back- over and over.. and over... again :) Thank you Black Bear Hollow!

What a wonderful spot for a memorable family vacation! We stayed at the Bear Ridge cabin the 2nd week of September, 2014. Myself along with my wife, daughter (13 1/2) and son (9 1/2) were totally relaxed in this mountain cabin. The inside was extremely clean and furnished with beautiful pieces...the kitchen was wonderful to work in. We ate 3/4 of our meals there because it felt like home and was a great place to hang out. There was a nice deck on the back of the cabin with a really nice hot tub that we enjoyed 3 nights in a row. The deck area also had a nice gas grill that I used to cook steaks on. Both bedrooms were large and once again included very nice furnishings and decor. Quiet evenings in the mountains...couldn't have asked for more. It's within 20 - 30 minutes of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge - when you take the scenic drive through the mountains - and even the little town of Townsend, TN where the cabins are located offered some nice stops along the way. (we had a great lunch at the Campfire Grill and also enjoyed Capt'n Daves Wood Carvings) I highly recommend this cabin and the owners were quick to respond to emails, so if you have any questions I wouldn't hesitate to ask them. We're from Central IL which is about 9 hours from the Gatlinburg area, but I hope to return here again someday.

We absolutely loved every minute at Bear Hollow!! We had 10 kids and 5 adults with plenty of beds and amenities to keep everyone happy!! Just a walk down our driveway to the waterfall and firepit kept our boys busy, the pool table in the basement kept all the guys busy, the hot tub on the deck satisfied everyone sore from hiking, the flat screens with cable on every floor kept tired little ones happy, and the full kitchen kept the mommas happy!! We were minutes from the river, Cade's Cove, and the Great Smoky Mtn Ntl Park!! Mark and Debbie were professional from reservations to check out, they were kind and generous and by far the best vacation rental we have dealt with ever!! We highly recommend this gorgeous little property in a gorgeous little spot of the Smokies!!

During the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend, I booked the “Bear Mountain” cabin for my wife and I and two of our children and their families with Black Bear Hollow Cabin Rentals in Townsend, TN. We stayed with them the previous year and had a wonderful time and found the property to be clean, comfortable and everything that we were looking for in a family vacation rental so we decided to book with them again this year.We will NEVER stay with them again!Upon arrival at the cabin we found that the power was out to the lower level of the cabin, we called Mark Tisch (owner) to inform him of the problem, Mr. Tisch asked us to reset the breaker and got off the phone…he neglected to mention that the panel was outside the cabin and we spent the better part of an hour trying to locate it. With this done, power was restored and we began settling in for our weekend. When we tried to light the gas fireplace however, it would not light. We searched for the pilot light and were unable to locate it and once again called Mr. Tisch. He was very surly this time around and told us that all we had to do was light the pilot, when we explained that we were unable to locate it, he reluctantly and rudely said he would send someone over, told us that he had never had any problems with his rentals and suggested that we had somehow caused this when we turned the power back on for the lower level. When Mr. Tischs’ partner arrived to fix the fireplace he was arrogant about the problem like he was going to show the idiots how to light a fire…until he realized that he couldn’t find the pilot light either! After a few phone calls, he learned that he was going to have to disassemble the fireplace to light it, which he did, but he came off that it was somehow our fault that it wasn’t lit in the first place!The final straw came some hours later when we started noticing a strong sewage odor. Upon investigation, we located the problem. The main floor toilet was leaking on to the bed in the lower level. We called Mr. Tisch again, and got even more of an attitude from him, but he sent his partner over again to investigate. When his partner arrived (we never did catch his name) he stopped just inside the door and commented how bad it smelled. He commented that they had never had this many problems with one of their cabins before and asked us to show him where the problem was, when he saw it, he offered us fresh sheets! Nothing about the wet brown stain on the bed, just fresh sheets! He tried to tell us that it must just be water leaking from the roof since they had so much rain lately. When we told him to watch what happened when we flushed the toilet he declined and changed the subject. He called Mr. Tisch again and had the audacity to tell him that the smell wasn’t bad despite his comment when he got there about the smell! Then we were asked if we could just double up in the other rooms and not use the downstairs…nothing about fixing the problem of raw sewage leaking in the house. We had a 3 year old with repertory problems and a 1 year old infant with us, and they expected us to stay in those hazardous conditions! We told Mr. Tisch that we wanted to move to another unit or to have our money back as we would not say in that cabin. He told us that there we no other cabins available and refused to return our money and again accused us of causing all of these issues ourselves!We left that evening and were able to find other lodging at a hotel in Pigeon Forge and were able to salvage some of our weekend, but we will never stay with Black Bear Hollow Cabin Rentals or recommend them to anyone that we know. That was without a doubt, the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. No apologies to us, blaming us for the issues despite the fact that the cabin obviously had not been checked prior to our arrival to make sure it was ready for guests and to expect a family with children to stay in a cabin with raw sewage in it is inexcusable.

great cabin, beautiful views, clean upon arrival, and a friendly and responsive owner who came to help out when we had a small issue. would recommend the area for its seclusion & proximity to trails in the nat. park.
