Camping at the Mountaineer Campground was loads of fun! We have stayed there many times, and this will not be our last! Matt and Wendy are great camp hosts and go above and beyond to make your time there so enjoyable that you won’t want to leave. Lisa and Daryl are great camp hosts also. We will miss seeing them on our next trip.Such a wonderful place…check it out if you want the best camp experience!

It was are first time staying here for week vacation.The hosts are great & helpful in any questions you may have on any of the local places to eat or vist. The amenities are clean from the bathrooms to the laundry room.the campsite were even cleaned before your arrival. So if your looking for a family fun campground with good people this is the place. We will definitely be coming back here.

This campground was amazing in every aspect. The owners were truly amazing and kind as well as the campground itself being in a beautiful location with clean utilities. Me and my friends had a great time here. This is our second time staying here. The campground is very clean and has some amazing sites right on the river. The owners are nice, the shower houses are spotless. We really love staying here.

Phenomenal campground! Dreaded trying to find a nice campground in the smokies, and picked this by random selection. Definitely hit a home run, bath houses are immaculate, sites are clean and tidy, well marked and easy to back into, the staff is extremely friendly, and to top it all off the amenities amazing, the website doesn’t do it justice. 10/10 will be back every time we are in the smokies.

This was our first trip to this campground. Its in a very nice location and the town itself is very neat. Sidewalks everywhere for bike riding is a big plus! The campground was clean and the hosts kept the facilities very clean and tidy each day. Overall a good experience. RV campsites are full hook up. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars was the camp sites are very tight and cramped if they are all occupied.

I tent camped while my wife and daughter had a "girls" weekend in Gatlinburg. I took that time to do some motorcycle touring of the well known spots. The campground was super clean. Facilities were clean. Shower water was hot! I had spot 23 on the river, which I highly recommend. The sound of the river flowing by was beyond calming. The staff was very nice and helpful. Despite the rain falling most of my trip I had an amazing time. I cannot wait to go back!Nearby activities: Gatlinburg 30 mins. Pigeon Forge 30 mins. Deal's Gap 20 mins. Cherahola Skyway about 45 mins. Tubing. Caves. Small stores & places to eat nearby.Noteworthy details: Clean and welcoming. Staff kind and helpful

This place is awesome! Great location, lots of fun things to see and do near by as well as amazing staff, they were so great to talk to and super helpful. We rented a little cabin which slept more then we expected, the grounds were super clean and spacious. The bath house is such a nice addition, as they were super clean. We also rented an RV spot right on the river! We had a beautiful view of the river below and super easy access to the river as well, which was nice. We will absolutely be back! Thank you to Matt and Wendy Ross for all their help, they really made our trip memorable.

The best campground I've been too. Staff is extremely friendly, helpful and the management went way above and beyond on our visit. Cabin was clean, camp sites were taken care of. Amazing location. The peaceful side of the smokies. Cabin includes everything you need during your stay besides linens. Pool was very well taken care of and they even supplied pool toys and basketballs and other toys to keep kids occupied. Firewood, ice, washer and dryer on site. Shower house is clean. Beautiful views of the river and mountains. I will choose this campground every single time. Book/checkin online to make it quick and easy! Easily my greatest experience while visiting Tennessee. Special thanks to management.

I have been going to the campground for the past ten years. It has gone under new ownership recently and it has been nothing but fantastic to see the improvements the new owners have made already.Trees have been trimmed up, shower houses have been updated, landscaping, decks, WiFi was a tremendous improvement compared to years past.To add to this, the new personnel are a delight. Super friendly and personable. Always willing to help and always keeping an eye on things in the park. Matt and Wendy do a great job!If you’re looking for a peaceful campground with great and attentive staff lookNo further!!!

This little campground was a perfect weekend getaway! Clean, stocked restrooms and showers. Campsites are a little close if you're in an rv but for tents it was just right. Creek access was a wonderful bonus for the kids. They also loved the playground and the games areas. After 10pm it was nice and quiet, you could hear the creek and it was so peaceful. We had an excellent time here and can't wait to return.

Basically a parking lot. Neighbors so close you can reach out and touch them from your trailer. Crowded. Shower water pressure was great, bathrooms rate about a 3.75 though. Located in the little town and close to the beginning of the Cades Codes Loop. The loop has a waterfall on a 2.5 mile (one way) trail that you should see.Get your coffee and breaky at Towns End Coffee Company. Cool wooden house style building.

My family and I had the best stay at this campground. The management was absolutely amazing! The river access was awesome! The facilities were impeccable! We will definitely be staying again. If you want to go to pidgeon forge and camp, this is definitely the place you want to stay! The pool is great! It's super clean and not to busy with other guests. My girls enjoyed it so much! And so did me and my husband! This campground is very family oriented and makes sure you have all you need to be comfortable.

Nice basic campground near Smoky Mountain National Park entrance on the east side of Townsend, TN. Simple RV parking with hook-ups; some on river. Most are well-shaded. This was our third stay here. Great base camp for our bicycle riding to Cades Cove, Newfound Gap, and Foothills Parkway. Great pool for cooling off post-ride. We have stayed at other campgrounds in Townsend and this is the one we prefer. Helpful staff.

We recently stayed here for a quick weekend trip in one of their 30 amp sites. Upon arrival and the setup of our camper, I noticed when I removed the septic tank cap our spot that water (sewage) began gushing back out. I screwed the cap back on quickly.The next morning I went out to hook our black tank hose up and did so. I went back into our camper to get something and came back out to an AWFUL smell. I went to the back of the camper where the sewer hookup was an SEWAGE was being pumped back out out of the sewer hookup! Standing sewage of at least 1-2 inches was running from the back of our camper, all over my shoes, hands, etc. The smell was obviosuly awful!Our kids came outside as we were about to leave for the day and the smell almost made them throw up.We called the front desk and Wendy and said their septic had just been pumped the day before and something must have been clogged. Long story short, we show up later that evening and still have no sewage hookups.They did come by our camper later that night and apologized but most would expect a free night or two after having sewage pumped back out of their septic and literally all over the backside of our campsite, shoes, and clothing.Can't say we'll be booking back here anytime soon.

The location is great. The campground is small and on the tight side, but it was okay. The staff are all very helpful. Its very family friendly.We had some power issues but the campground owners were very apologetic and prompt in making it right for us which we appreciated very much.

This is a very nice campground. The RV/Camper spaces are a little tight but the grounds are well maintained. The bath house is somewhat dated but very clean and the pool is well taken care of. The staff is very friendly and pleasant to deal with. The river acess is nice and the best part is you are only 15 minutes from Cades Cove. We will certainly stay again.Nearby activities: Cades cove is a short drive and the tubing places are right next door.Food & drinks: There is a great burger and ice cream shop right next door.
