This place is the absolute best. Moving to the area in July, I've spent a lot of time at the shop. The staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, and the shop itself is beautiful. Dave has helped my fiance pick out gifts for me, and Byron has personally helped me choose from their wide vareity of fly tying supplies. It's always an enjoyable experience, and you can tell these guys are really in it for the passion and the love of the sport. They are the friendliest people and are always willing to help anyone of any skill level. Even if you don't fish, it's still worth stopping by to see the beautiful shop!!

Got the chance to take a side trip here while in Gatlinburg. They have an amazing selection of gear and flies. It was great to be able to handle multiple high end rods. The entire second floor is dedicated to fly tying supplies. As a bonus I got to speak with Byron the owner. You owe it to yourself to visit this place!

I was here on vacation in June. I have been fly fishing for 20 years. Best shop I've ever been in... period. The selection is awesome, especially fly tying stuff. Love the fly shop! This is definitely a must when traveling to the Smokies to fly fish. All the staff are highly knowledgeable and friendly. They will advise you on local water conditions and flies that are working best for that time of year. Upstairs they have a wide selection of fly tying materials and their prices are extremely reasonable. The shop has lots of fish mounts that are cool to check out as well.

Never had a bad experience here! Everyone I've talked to at LRO is very knowledgeable and friendly. Although I haven't had to pick up any new gear in a while they carefully walked me through everything I would need as a green fly fisherman years ago. Any online orders have gone out quick and if there were any issues, they'd call me and sort it all out promptly.

Wow! What a place! We stopped in today to discuss getting lessons for my wife and I. We spoke to two gentlemen, and they were so gracious with their time by giving us a very thorough explanation of the lesson process… we can’t wait to get some thing booked with the instructor Dave. Additionally, they were very helpful with a product issue we had experienced, even though the product was purchased from a different store. Bottom line: you do not find such wonderful people and wonderful customer service like this much anymore!

First time an outfitter took time to explain the proper techniques needed to catch these trout. I feel he was sincere with his fly choices for me. I'll be back there to report my success during our 5 day stay. Having had some experience in Montana hopefully will help me here in the Smokeys.

They have a great selection on their fly tying department and amazing prices as well, I also picked up a new fishpond net that I was fortunate enough to put a couple of fish in during my stay. Love this shop. They have everything from tying materials and tools to fly rods and reels. Quality gear for all levels of fly fisherman. Nice flies for sale as well. Looking forward to going back in May for a basic class with my son and father. You will always learn something new here and find what you are looking for. Knowledgeable people in a great shop. Easy access from the Smokey Mountain National Park as well. If you like fly fishing, don't.miss this store; you won't be disappointed!

Always wonderful. Have everything a fly fisherman needs, and, more importantly, friendly, helpful staff. To be honest, I go there many times to "talk shop" with the guys, whether or not I need (emphasis added) to make any purchases. Also of note is that the offer free shipping within the Continental United States, BUT...it's much better to visit the friendly folks at the store.

Wow, Fly fishing toy store....They have almost everything you will need to start fly fishing. Every Fly lure you can think of, they have and very helpful staff. Can't say enough about my experience at this store. They even have baby trout tank that are reared from eggs then released into the rivers locally.

Great fly fishing shop ! Great assortment of high quality merchandise! And individual flies that can be purchased to fly fish on the river! They will let you know where to go and what the fish are biting on! Fly rods , fly reels , waders, line , shirts, hats! Great staff that's friendly and helpful! I highly recommend them !

Absolutely great shop and the school is even better! Very helpful, friendly, and good prices. I attended the school this spring and could not be happier I chose to do so. The instructors are great! They explain everything you need to know to get started catching fish and, maybe more importantly, help you develop your cast and also give you the knowledge you need to self-diagnose casting issues so you may continue to develop even after the class on your own. If you want to start fly fishing, attend their school and knock 5 or more years off of your learning curve! Cannot recommend these guys enough. I was catching trout on Sunday, thanks to the class, and I can't wait to catch more!
