Great place. She roasts her own coffee. Local person makes organic chess and fudge brownies. Yum! Places can be rented for the day for $20 with picnic table. Easy access to slow river. When we were there people had chairs in the river and had brought a Weber grill and tubes to float.

This is an absolute Gem! I am a coffee nut. During our weekend in the Smoky Mountains, we stopped at It's Not Coffee because of the reviews. I was not expecting much, but Sabrina, the friendly owner and barista, proved me wrong. She knows her craft: she roasts her coffee herself and uses a LaPavoni manual lever espresso machine. The 2 shots of espresso that she brewed for me were absolutely delicious. This is what skills and great coffee beans can do. My family enjoyed their iced latte as well. This is the level of some of the best specialty coffee shops I visited across the country. This one happens to be in a beautiful mountain setting. Do yourself a favor and check this wonderful coffee shop if you drive by Townsend.

This place is awesome beyond words! Just try it! You would love it. The owner is the sweetest lady I ever met.You can call and rent the river front as a family or a group and enjoy your time while drinking your coffee, having cookies and enjoying the sunset around a fire pit.

We have our annual church picnic here...it's located right on the Little River and the kids love tubing, and playing in the water. We've had baptisms too. They have quite a few nice picnic tables, and there are lots of nice tall trees to provide shade. Convenient to Townsend, Maryville and Seymour.

Cutest little coffee shop! It goes down to the river where you rent out tables for events behind the coffee shop. The owner was the sweetest lady who told us all about how she got started when we asked her about owning a coffee shop. She also roasts her own coffee and makes all the drinks herself. Being one of the only coffee shops around, it was some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. Perfectly flavored with the great taste of coffee still in it. Didn’t taste like Starbucks like you were drinking straight sugar. This lady has perfected coffee. If you’re thinking about stopping by, don’t give it a second thought and give in to impulsivity. Wish we had this lady and her coffee shop in our town up North!

We stumbled upon this coffee shop looking for a place to walk our dog… and I’m so glad we did! The iced vanilla latte was delicious! My husband just wanted a Snapple ice tea.. and the sweet lady offered a homemade ice tea, it was amazing!! The shop was super cute and the “war room” was so very special.

This place was great! We stopped on our way to the Smokies and we’re so glad that we did. It’s always a gamble with a small coffee shop like this, you’re never sure if the coffee will be good or not, but the coffee was some of the best I’ve ever tasted and the owner was so nice! They have a few food options too, so we had some spinach egg bites and sat out near the stream behind the shop. There was a family of geese and a friendly cat that joined us. I would definitely recommend this stop if you’re looking for a good cup before you head to the mountains. The host also said they do events, so that nice mountain stream we sat by would be a great place for a party.

We are so happy we found It’s Not the Coffee! Another place we had been to once before closed early, so we kept driving east towards Cades Cove. We knew immediately when we pulled in the drive that this place is special. Sabrina’s lattes were simply amazing, the snacks we bought were too. But we also had really good conversation with Sabrina. She’s good people and we enjoyed talking about the river, their shop, and Townsend. If you want coffee and a good experience, skip the other places and come here!

This place was quaint and cozy. We grabbed on our way out of the smokies for the drive home and it was delicious. The house blend shotgun black coffee was a hit. Prices were great, and the woman behind the counter was just lovely. We'll be adding this shop in on our yearly trip.

Absolutely delightful place to sit and drink fine quality coffee while admiring (loving!) the river, the squirrels, birds and Canadian geese. The lady (Sabrina) was utterly charming and helpful to us. Absolutely recommended!

Such a great little spot on the river. We celebrated my daughter's birthday there last summer and plan to spend many days there this summer. The owners are so nice and accommodating. Highly recommend.

It's definitely not the coffee!!! Both Google and the sign on your door says open until 6pm on Saturdays, but this coffee shop is anything but! Tried to come in about 4pm on October 15th and the shop was closed with no sign on the door indicating why.
