Visited Townsend over the weekend with friends and decided to grab a cocktail prior to dinner. The distillery has such a cool vibe, great drinks (surprising amount of cocktails for a distillery), awesome outdoor area with live music and corn hole, great place to hang it and relax with friends

We make sure to come here each year on our vacation. The drinks are amazing and so is the food from the attached Amico. Today we were greeted by John and we did a whisky/bourbon tasting paired with chocolates. John was super helpful and kind and the tasting was fabulous. Thanks for another great visit!

Visited the distillery in Townsend, TN. Experienced a whiskey tasting hosted by Ashley who took great care of us. All are awesome expressions but the favorite here is the single barrel Tennessee whiskey, outstanding. Also, we were fortunate to be given a tour by one of the principals, Kevin Smith, who's a scientist/chemist/distiller/brewer and all around super dude. This way exceeded our expectations for the day and we're grateful! Learn the backstory on Company Distilling, sample their stuff, and you'll be big fans like us!

This is a really well done distillery with a very nice indoor and outdoor space. Lots of seating in both spaces. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They were not very busy when we were there so had great conversation. They have 2 tasting options. The first is to try all three of their bourbon products. About a half shot of each. This costs $20. The other is a choice of one of their bourbons, gin, and 6 flavored alcohols - you choose 5 and get a small amount of each. This costs $15. 3 stars is because their tasting options are to expensive in my opinion. The most expensive tasting we have paid for. One last thing,. If you walk to the back of their property there is a nice river. It is very calm, not the rushing kind.

Such a cool place! The distillery partners with Maryville restaurant Amici and has a small sandwich / small plates menu and it was absolutely delicious. No pictures of the food, it was gone too fast.I didn't have a drink but went with a couple friends who are avid whiskey drinkers and they were thoroughly impressed. The atomsphere is so nice inside, and the staff make you feel so welcome and make customers a priority. The selling point for me though was the incredible outdoor area. Such a beautiful spot to sit and enjoy good food and drink will friends. Will absolutely be back!

What a nice experience. Had a fantastic drink along with some samples. The outdoor area is really nice and peaceful. Left with a couple of bottles and some black walnut bitters. Very friendly staff!I can't wait to try the recipes they gave me. Nice job Company Distilling!

Visiting Townsend. Arrived Saturday. Had a couple beers and a sandwich.Awesome facility. Cold beer and a great sandwich. Very nice patio out back.Returned Sunday. I went to the window to order a sandwich. Onserved a young man inside sitting on the floor. As he got up, he put his hands on the floor to help himself up. I said I wanted to order a sandwich and would you please wash your hands. He did then put on food prep gloves.Thank you very much for great food and drinks. This is a must-visit distillery.

Stopped by this evening about 45 minutes before closing. We had a party at 4 and we each ordered a drink. Nobody was sitting outside so he asked if they would mind to turn on one of the gas fireplaces and they happily accommodated us! We enjoyed absolutely fantastic beer and a tasty lemon drop cocktail.Absolutely gorgeous facility and very friendly staff. We are fairly local and will definitely return to this gem !

Kirk led us through a fantastic tasting! He was knowledgeable about the spirits and the company. The tour was centered on the beers they brew and sell on-site, but was a fun add-on to the tasting.

Fun stop coming out of the Great Smokies National Park. Loved our cocktails (old-fashioned and blueberry smash). The whiskey, shine and beer are also good. Above all the guest experience was excellent - 5 Star!

Company Distilling is one of my favorite local establishments. In addition to having world-class whiskey, cocktails, and beer, the warm hospitality of the staff truly emulates the Company brand. You will feel a sense of being in “good company” every time you go, as the Townsend team extends amazing service and camaraderie. I always look forward to enjoying a delicious beverage and visiting with my Company friends. With Chrystal's brilliance and creativity behind the bar, plus the wizardry of Ashtyn, Clemmer, Kirk, Matt, and the whole team - they all go above and beyond to create a meaningful experience each time. Make Company a destination and visit as often as you can. The location in Townsend is beautiful – the people and the products are extraordinary.

Very cool spot! The cask strength bourbon (maple cask) is one of my favorites right now. The seismic rye is awesome as well. Be sure to stop by when in the area.

I really enjoyed my visit to Company Distilling. The atmosphere is welcoming; the decor is attractive and the staff is always friendly. Have been there for two tastings, taking guests from out of town, and had a blast both times.

I struggled a lot with this visit from an overall customer experience standpoint. Staying at a nearby campground so drove by the place a few times but made the decision to make a stop based on some feedback from a local business owner that the place was super solid. Went to the website to see what offerings were etc. Found that there appeared to be two options a $15 & $20 tasting experience. Booked the $20 experience for two (wife & I) at 1:45pm for a 4 pm tasting. We arrived early say 3:50 give or take. The confirmation email said to arrive at 3:50 (didn't see this detail until writing this review. Walked in to a beautiful tasting room that was pretty empty except for one guest, it was a random Wednesday afternoon. We were greeted shortly after walking in but that's when things just felt OFF. The gentleman that greeted us looked like he was important, owner, manager something. When I stated we were here for a tasting the look on his face was of shock or just that they weren't expecting anyone which was really odd. I would hope that when you buy something on their page they get a notification of sorts. I got an email and a text confirming everything. There was what felt like a mad dash to get things set up. Another gentleman (bald with a goatee) was the person that "ran the tasting." I'm not new to bourbon/whiskey but this employee was awkward at best gave us basic tasting notes that were just found on the placemat that was given to us. Three samples were provided standard bourbon offering 90 proof and the cask strength bourbon 121 proof and the rye offering at 107 proof. Overall the tasting was a whole lot less than I was expecting for $46 (for 2 people). There was no ask for any added sale post tasting other than flopping the bar menu on the table and walking away. I felt as though I was bothering the team when we got there, which was odd as there wasn't anyone in the whole place. You'd have thought we would have gotten the golden ticket tour etc. Nope we got an awkward "tasting" with an even stranger employee. He did comment that he loves the rye and drinks it after every shift.I think overall this might have just been a bad experience for me but I hope for the sake of the beautiful tasting room and really sleek brand this was just some one off thing. Company's brand and packaging is killer the juice however is questionable. Lacks transparency as to where it's sourced but garnering top shelf pricing is also off putting. Jeff Arnett has quite the distilling background but I was hoping for a bit more for the cost of the tasting and what you all are asking for bottles.

Had a fantastic tasting, tried all they offer. Sat outside with our pups. They light a fire and we sipped our old fashions and beer. We’ve enjoyed our several stops getting treats to enjoy at home. Look forward to many more visits in the future. Hope to stop sooner than later! Ignore the lame reviews. The bourbon is true!

Cool new spot in Townsend. My whisky sour was quite tasty. Good customer service. We ended up didn’t buy their liquors. They were good but we couldn’t justify the price. It looks like they are still doing more to the exterior. Can’t wait to check back in the fall.

Very informative and detailed about all their spirits. Jeff Arnett, former master distiller for Jack Daniels hits a home run with his own brand!! Come on in for a delicious sandwich, pesto and parmesan fries and of course a great drink. Highly recommend!

I was intrigued to come here after driving by on our way to Cades Cove. I’m a huge fan of bourbon and whiskey and after finding out that the master distiller was from Jack Daniel’s I was even more excited to try everything and order an old fashioned and a cocktail for my wife. Clemer helped us and was ok and engaging to start with. While I was tasting some of the whiskey he left abruptly. I asked another female server to try the rye whiskey and to ask a few questions about the single barrel and about the regular bourbon. Then clemer came by again and told the female that was assisting us that I had already tried that implying to not give me another one. I did not want another sample. I was just asking questions. My wife and I decided to leave with our ordering anything. I have never been treated like that at any place when sampling something I might actually buy. So what if I wanted another sample. They’re like 10 ml samples. A was already contemplating buying a bottle anyways. At that point we were done and walked out. I went back in to ask clemmer his name and he was talking about me as I walked up. He tried to do a some service recovery but we just left. That being said the atmosphere was nice and the juice was good.

They had some really good liquors, didn't get to try the food. Really nice atmosphere, had a great Old Fashioned. It's worth the drive to Townsend to have a good drink.

We've been coming to "the peaceful side" for years, and Company distilling is exactly what Townsend needed. Friendly, informed staff were a delight. The facility was stylish and inviting. Before we left, i already had plans to return with my brother and his wife.

This place is amazing and our server, Kirk, was the best. If I had a business I would hire him in a minute. He definitely knows how to run a business.

Where is John Taffer???? This place is seriously in need a Bar Rescue!! We stopped in on Nov 1st. I had planned on possibly buying a bottle if the tasting was good. We got seated and I ordered a tasting and my wife got a Spiced Apple Mule (non - al). The waitress seemed friendly and was at least semi-knowledgeable about the whiskey she was serving. After the tasting we were ignored while about 5 different employees (including our server) were in the corner of the bar chatting away. It was pretty unprofessional. Our waitress finally did come back but at that point I had decided to forget getting a bottle and leave. The place would probably be better if there was more concern for the customer and less playtime. It's too bad because the whiskey was good and the place was nice.

This was my first time visiting and I had a great time. The staff was extremely helpful in helping me pick out the perfect drink based on my tastes. The maple old fashioned did not disappoint! I also LOVED the smoked trout sandwich and pimento cheese dip. This is not your everyday distillery, and was truly a curated experience. I can’t wait to visit again!

After touring many beautiful distilleries in Kentucky, we discovered one of the best tasting bourbons right here nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains. Company distillery makes a bourbon they want you to share with great company. Not only did we enjoy wonderful smooth bourbon in an absolutely beautiful venue, we were privileged to sit down with Kevin (the chemist) and taste some of his best pours. Make sure to put this bourbon on your top shelf because it will earn it when you take your first sip.

A wonderful spot on the "Peaceful Side" of the Smokys. Locally distilled spirits and great craft beer brewed on site. Hats off to their knowledgeable staff, especially Chrystal the bar manager and Matt who works brewing some awesome beer!

Company Distilling in Townsend TN is a fun place to visit. In addition to spirits and craft beer, they have a nice selection of things for sale, most with the CO logo on them. The building is good looking, the people are friendly and their whiskey is very tasty. Try the whiskey sampler. I highly recommend visiting Company Distilling!
